It is a big week for women's basketball as college star Caitlin Clark went No. 1 in the WNBA draft. As incredible as her college career was, some fans are outraged at her salary. Dave and I dig into how much she's getting paid and why. My iPhone doesn't connect to my new truck using CarPlay, so I can't use Maps or Apple Music. This forced me into getting a subscription to Spotify and it has some really cool features. We are all looking (cautiously) forward to AI, but some of the new products are really bad. The solar eclipse happened this week so Dave and I took a few minutes to talk about our experiences. The rumored iPad release date is getting closer—they may be released a couple of weeks before WWDC in June. After stopping development of its car project, Apple is now rumored to be entering the home robotics space. It will be interesting to see what that will be in the future. The New York Times gave one of its reporters the task of switching from iPhone to Android—it went okay, but it certainl wasn't smooth in all areas. Macs can now inform Apple if any liquid has been spilled in the USB-C ports. So, if you spill something on your Mac and then take it in for service, they will know what happened. Preorders for the Vision Pro begin on January 19, with availability on February 2, 2024. Dave and I also talk about the corrective lenses you can get for the device. Apple this week unveiled some new security changes for its iPhone devices. Specifically, if someone steals your iPhone, and has your password, they will no longer be able to change security settings without using Face ID.
