Many people think that poker is a game of luck. For those of us that play poker, we know for certain that this game has immense skill involved. And anyone who believes otherwise doesn’t understand poker.
Now don’t get me wrong, there are occasional bad beats (OK, not occasionally, they seem to happen quite often). But we consider that normal “variance” and a part of the game. You’re never going to win every single time when you get it in preflop with AA vs KK, because statistically you’re only an 80% favorite, not 100%.
Anyway, poker is a great game. It’s easy to learn, but takes a lifetime to master. Take it from me, I’ve been playing for over 15 years, and I’m still adding new skills and strategies to my game. The amount of improvement you need now is vast, and if you don’t improve, you’ll get eaten alive by the remaining players.
There is so much information out there on poker, and a lot of it is great to help you improve your game. Whether it’s mastering basic concepts such as playing tight, playing in position, or raising when you enter a pot, to more intermediate concepts like floating, bluffing, or defending your big blind, to the most advanced concepts such as opponents ranges and range building, equity values, blockers and unblockers, to differences between cash games and tournaments, to philosophical concepts like emotions, tilting, bankroll management, playing tired, and overall improving your game, there is so much to learn, especially for the players just starting out.
So I’ve compiled a list of the best poker podcasts, that will not only help you improve, but will give you an edge at the table.
Without further ado, here is the list of the best 15 poker podcasts:
