Reinventing the wheel In the early 1990s, the US military did case studies and various ideas. Stress cards, co-ed basic training, slow integration females in forward support MOS, ending hazing traditions, physical fitness programs. 25 years later, those who were once a young lieutenant or private are now key leaders. These individuals failed to learn from the goods and bads that were addressed from 1991 to 2000. Each Branch has their own core mission. I can say for the Army, being assigned from Division to down to the Infantry line company, I have seen many goods and bads. It took many trials and errors to allow females to be at least working at the Battalion level of a combat arms Battalion. Those who were lazy, male and female were pushed out for hard charging individuals who could do the Unit's mission.
