This week in Linux, we have a brand new version of the Linux kernel to talk about. Well, maybe. Technically, the 6.13 release is not until this Sunday, and I'm recording this before Sunday, so we're just going to roll the dice, and hopefully it doesn't get delayed. Also, we have some distro news this week to talk about with a new release from Linux Mint, MX Linux, and OpenSUSE. We also have some security news related to the rsync project, as well as a big flaw that was found in the Linux kernel. We're gonna talk about all of this and so much more on This Week in Linux, your weekly news show that keeps you up to date with what's going on in the Linux and Open Source world. Now let's jump right into Your Source for Linux GNews.

Forum Discussion Thread (https://forum.tuxdigital.com/t/289-cinnamon-desktop-cosmic-alpha-4-nixos-flathub-llc-more-linux-news/6518)
This week in Linux, we have so many cool things to talk about. It's kind of absurd. In fact, it's so much, I had to skip a few things. I have enough for two episodes this week, and more, actually, there's a little more than that. So it was kind of hard to pick what to cover. Maybe I'll make some follow-up content this coming week with some stuff to cover that we didn't have a chance to put in the episode. But this week, we have many new releases to talk about, like the Cinnamon Desktop. NixOS has a new version out. And we got an update for the fourth alpha of the System76's COSMIC Desktop. Then we have some really cool news from Flatpak and KDE. All of this and so much more on This Week in Linux, the weekly news show that keeps you up to date with what's going on in the Linux and Open Source world. Now let's jump right into Your Source for Linux GNews.

This week in Linux, we have a lot of new releases to talk about. First, we have elementary OS 8.4. Then we're also having a huge milestone to talk about with the FreeCAD project because FreeCAD 1.0 has been released. Also, FLTK, the toolkit that I thought didn't exist anymore, has a new release with FLTK 1.4, as well as we're going to revisit some Linux kernel drama. All of this and so much more on This Week in Linux, the weekly news show that keeps you up to date with what's going on in the Linux and open source world. This week in Linux, we have a lot of great news and a little bit of some unfortunate news regarding a vulnerability with the CUPS printing system. Now, it's not as bad as people are claiming, but we'll get to that in a bit. We also have the merger of the Tor project and the Tails OS project, which is really cool, and Ubuntu 24.10 beta is now available, as well as the Cosmic Desktop has reached an alpha 2 that is now available for download and testing. All of this and more on This Week in Linux, the show that keeps you up to date with what's going on in the Linux and Open Source world. So let's jump right into Your Source for Linux GNews.

Naive point of view, IMO.
are there another platform to get your wonderful podcasts? I'm on castbox and this is shit
since you do a recap of the previous week of linux, and DLN's forum will be first discussion about linux. Would you mind possibly doing a section about summarizing interesting posts/discussions from the previous week on the forums? (like how you talked about the Microsoft thing, but do a recap every week? )
10:46: That is am amazing feature! How have I never known about that! (move windows around with Alt button) thank you so much for these DE tips/ tricks.
44:20: how do you do the segment index? is it manual or are you automatically generate it somehow?
36:55: I would be intrested in how you all are handling tutorials. Also, I would love to be able to contribute as well.
MIPS sounds impressive. I'm quite excited to see people hunting bugs in 7-Zip. I've heard that archives can be compromised in a really crazy way, and execute code in some instances. Mostly making Windows vulnerable, but you never know. It could be Linus as well.
I don't trust Linus anymore. He already appears to be embracing the "new direction." It's alleged that he has some Fembot Thot girlfriend, and he's going to destroy the sanctity of the Best Of The Best approach, in favor of pandering to liberalism. Any idiot with half a brain can figure out it's a corporate espionage and infiltration scheme to destroy anything good that outsiders have ( i.e. NORMAL SANE PEOPLE). It's everywhere. Sanity is blocked from every medium. Created your own platform like Gab? No problem. BLOCKED by Host, or ISP, or payment processor.
