It's no secret that living in a place like the Bay Area is expensive, and causes financial hardships. It's probably no secret that that's a top reason for people's high stress levels, either. But what other effects are we really facing by living in a high-cost, go-go-go environment? In Episode 8, we discuss the tolls our bodies and minds are facing in such a financially difficult place to live.

Hello everyone! If you've been following the podcast, you know that my co-host and I talk quite a bit about self-care (even outside of our last episode!) That being said, we had planned to post this episode last week on New Year's Eve. Low and behold I couldn't manage to fit in the things I need to do while keeping up with the Holiday things that were coming up. Full disclosure, I was stressed, and I was pushing myself and worrying I wouldn't get this episode out in time. My wonderful co-host, Alison Casanova, and I chatted and remembered that, basically, we should practice what we preach - instead of stressing over this deadline we had set for ourselves, we took the time to breathe and enjoy the Holidays. I apologize this episode is posted late, but I hope you enjoy it none-the-less. Let's all start the new year, first and foremost, remembering to take care of ourselves and give ourselves grace.
In this episode, we talk about New Year's Resolutions, figuring out if you really even need one, how to set yourself up for success and what to do if you "fall off" and want to get back on track!
Thanks for listening, please feel free to leave comments or questions, and have a Happy New Year!!

Okay, okay! We know self care is something that is talked about often, and maybe you are tired of hearing about it, but don't skip this episode! We talk about why it's important, we'll give you some inexpensive or free self-care ideas and go over how to recognize if you're burnt out. Got some self-care ideas you love already? Please share them! We love new ideas :)
In Episode 5, we dive into a tough topic - grief and loss. We openly discuss the process following the death of a loved one, as well as loss beyond the physical. We then look at some things to expect if you or someone you know are going through the grieving process, different ways to cope and how to support somebody else.
Show Notes:

A few of the coping skills we talk about.
-Be patient with yourself!
-Listen to yourself. Listen to your body!
-Identify a few good support people and ALLOW them to help you.
-Don't forget to eat. Identify things you still have control over and take advantage of those.
Join us for Episode 4 as we go over the different types of wellness and mental health providers and how to find the right one for you! This episode is a bit more information based and is helpful for potential clients seeking a provider as well as those interested in a career in mental health. Enjoy!
