Recorded late last year in this episode we interviewed all round nice guy Brett Marquardt, who gives us an insight into running a hobby shop!!
Hello and welcome back to our second season, this time round we are going for a more relaxed approach, so please subscribe and give us a go bvut please remember we are only hobby builders, we are doing the best we can with the equipment we have. All our Thanks Mark, Gordon and Josh
We had a guest (MrMiniDreams) lined up for this evenings SprueCast but due to the time difference and a small misunderstanding MrMiniDreams was sadly unable to make it, we will try and reschedule him for another time, so unfortunately we had to wing it and had General Chit Chat join us...!
This week we look at our work spaces and what is immediately around us.
We look at some cheap alternative to some of the more expensive tools, this will be a continuing episode as there are many different alternatives so we will keep updating it when we have a few collected.
This time we look at metallic inks such as Molotow and ponder will there ever be a decent chrome!

Super glue (cyanoacrylate) being first developed for use as wound repair is a bit of an urban myth. It was first developed for fixing gun sights in the 2nd world war but was not used. There is an interesting write up on Wikipedia.

tool alternatives. very interesting. I like italeri brushes too. I'll have to try baking powder super glue kicker. Do you disolve it and spray it on? (with a plant sprayer). Could you just explain a little more please.

Interesting discussion regarding metallic paints. For the record, we do have areas in Britain where local rules apply, particularly the newer housing estates etc. A friend of mine was told he could not park his sign written company van on his own drive way as there was something in the rules drawn up by the original developers. Another case was a private built estate was built alongside a council estate and the landlords built a fence to segregate the people including stopping the kids from playing on the swings and slides etc. However, I think these sort of things have been challenged legally and reversed. Sorry, I have come off topic somewhat.

The youtuber painting on the sprue was Phill Flory. On the rivet counters. It's all on how you bring it and to who. In what tone of voice.

Revell reboxings are a way to get more kits out cheaper. It works noth ways. ICM knows they will sell more kits (ICM + Revell) so cheaper molds. Revell gets a new tool kit for less. Usually the first XX number will be for sale for 1 year. So ICM can get their money. After that Revell gets the plastic and both make money . loved this interview

Are recast also a problem for plastic modelling? Airfix and Revell? I'm a bit less strict in these matters. I bought a very cheap recast 35mm figure of Harlequin. I'm not a figure painter and I wanted to try it out. If it was for me the next 1 would be an original. But to spend a lot of money on something not for me... I just can't or will not pay. And from what I've seen the originals are worth the extra money. So the recast are no competition
