Dr. Guio is from Colombia and holds a PhD in Spanish and International law (2017- Univ. Alfonso X). His thesis was “Fighting corruption: social and juridical aspects”. He has a master’s in National security and Defense (2012 – Colombia’s Upper War College) and is an electrical engineer (1984 Tulane Univ.) He is now a member of Colombia’s Military Academy of history. He has been an associate partner of Torres & Alvarado auditing firm. He Worked Upstream logging wells with Gearhart Owen and downstream with Exxon Colombia in lubes and bulk fuel distribution. He started a family firm of Simultaneous and written translations that has been in business for the past 28 years.  He also has teenage children.

Shawn Melville is the founder of a local startup company called Ipsum Technologies focused on creating opportunities for persons with disabilities to thrive in the growing digital economy. Vidal Pooran graduated with a BSc. in Mechanical Engineering from UWI before joining the Trinidad and Tobago Defense force which included one year of training with the Royal Air Force at Cranwell. He later left the TTDF to better serve his country by pursuing his calling as an animal rights activist and believes that animal understanding and compassion is the key to bettering life. He is currently finishing his Bachelor of Law degree to better equip himself in his battle for justice, fairness and equality.

Empress Q, is the founder of Stay Calm Its a Plant. She has been an advocate for the medical benefits of cannabis sativa over the past six years and is working to end the stigmatization towards Rastafarians and herbalists. Jonathan Bhagan is an Attorney at Law in private practice and a part time tutor at UWI Law Faculty. Jonathan is the founder of the Christian Youth Foundation. Jonathan also lead the Caribbean Committee Against Sex Crimes founded by Camille St. Omer in a regional campaign for sex offender registration from 2016 to 2018. Jonathan has 5 years’ experience as a board member of the Organization for Abused and Battered Individuals assisting survivors of sexual violence. Jonathan is a graduate of the Cambridge Institute of Continuing Education Leading Change programme and an Associate Fellow of the Royal Commonwealth Society. Selwyn Cudjoe is a Trinidadian academic, scholar, historian, essayist and editor who is Professor of Africana Studies at Wellesley College. He was also the Margaret E. Deffenbaugh and LeRoy T. Carlson Professor in Comparative Literature and the Marion Butler McClean Professor in the History of Ideas at Wellesley. His particular expertise is Caribbean literature and Caribbean intellectual history, and he teaches courses on the African-American literary tradition, African literature, black women writers, and Caribbean literature.
