It's that time of year again where release season is creeping up on us and Scott has a boatload of games he's been working his way through. Two Point Campus, Cult of the Lamb, Fashion Police Squad, and Rollerdrome are all here, along with a trip back to the Late to the Party Lounge for more World of Warcraft adventuring. But first, Evan shares about some of the awkwardness of validating the success of a vasectomy, and toward the end Spider-Man is having something of an identity crisis on the PC. Discussed: Two Point Campus, Cult of the Lamb, Fashion Police Squad, Rollerdrome, World of Warcraft, Xenoblade Chronicles 3, Spider-Man Remastered
Join us for the first episode of God of War Game Club, in which we discuss our experiences and reactions playing through God of War (2018) for the first time. This episode covers the story chapters "The Marked Trees" and "Path to the Mountain". Follow us on Twitter: @savingcontent | @ev_rowe | @hawk_se
Live (but recorded) from The Windy City, nothing will slow us down in our pursuit of talking for too long about video games! Scott’s gone hands-on with Hard West 2, and he shares his experiences touring through all of the recentish Battlefied releases, PLUS Scott has taken the plunge into World of Warcraft, a place Evan dares not return to. Evan’s wrapped up Jedi: Fallen Order and is all up on that hot new Xenoblade Chronicles 3 ish, which he has no prior experience with but is pretty sure he likes! Discussed: Hard West 2, Battlefield, World of Warcraft, Jedi: Fallen Order, Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Send in your questions! Do you believe in life away from work? Does the thought of Big Fast Food playing tricks on your beverage expectations keep you up at night? Do you crave PINK JEEPS? Then stay a while and listen while Scott and Evan talk about the issues that matter to YOU. Scott's got a playdate with the Playdate, and has been enjoying a smattering of games like Polygon, PUBG, Battlefield V, and is even becoming JRPG curious! Evan has the hot dish about Stray, and some very late and unsurprising takes about Jedi: Fallen Order. Oh and let's talk about those PlayStation Plus tiers too because they are still ridiculous. Won't you also please join us for Quicksave Game Club! We're kicking off the inaugural run with God of War (2018), wherein we'll play through a set amount of story between each show and discuss our experiences each time we reconvene, to help prepare for God of War Ragnarok's release later this year! Play along with us, it'll be a blast! Discussed: Playdate, Polygon, PUBG, Tales of Arise, Stray, Jedi: Fallen Order, PlayStation Plus, God of War (2018) Send in your questions! quicksave@savingcontent.com Follow us on Twitter: @savingcontent | @ev_rowe | @hawk_se
Gather round the ol' Hifi with your two favorite dads for another riveting episode! The Summer of Scott continues, and Scott has been indulging in all of the perks that come with the unparalleled freedom of having the house all to yourself (Kevin McCallister style). We take a brief detour into Tinsel Town to chat about the horror and thriller films Scott's been enjoying on Shudder (use promo code DEADMEATJAMES from some other person's show for 30 days free I guess?), including a trio of Nic Cage films that'll really bake your noodle. Scott shares his impressions of Tiny Tina's Wonderlands (somewhat recently released on Steam), and Cuphead's Delicious Last Course DLC (but do you see what they did there). Evan's gaga for Ex-Zodiac, a low-poly 90s on-rails shooter that is about as close as you can get to Starfox without being Starfox, and a smattering of other games including Fortnite and Poinpy on iOS. Discussed: Mandy, Color out of Space, Tiny Tina's Wonderlands, Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course, Ex-Zodiac, Fortnite, Poinpy Alternate Titles: "Winning is Family," "Why Haven't I mentioned The Testicles?" We still mean it, but what we also mean is that we'll make the dang episodes when we can make 'em. Listen, we don't always get to choose what obstacles we face in life, you know? Sometimes it's a giant truck, sometimes it's a really big rock, sometimes it's a calendar. The good news is, usually you can push through! Oh, right, podcast description! Scott's been trying to escape The Cycle: Frontier, experiencing blistering speed and incredible opulence in F1 22, and an old, long forgotten part of the Quicksave house gets revisited as we discuss the tire fire that is MX vs ATV Legends. Evan is chasing the thrill of ever faster times times like a fiend in Neon White, and he will apologize to nobody for the game's quality and notably high levels of horniness. Discussed: The Cycle: Frontier, F1 22, MX vs ATV Legends, Neon White, TMNT: Shredder's Revenge Alternate Titles: "Real Adult Ass", "It is I, Dirty Driver!", "This Game is So Horny" Send in your questions! quicksave@savingcontent.com Follow us on Twitter: @savingcontent | @ev_rowe> | @hawk_se
This probably seems like a trick, but we are in fact finally back in the podcasting saddle, ready to wrangle video games for your listening pleasure! Scott's got the dirt on Postal: Brain Damaged and Redout 2, and Evan's got Neon White on the brain, as well as the joys of playing games like Horizon: Zero Dawn, Elden Ring, and Jedi: Fallen Order on "Dad Mode." Special thanks to friend of the pod, Linc, for our incredible new artwork that we are SO stoked to share with you all! This is just the beginning of the next phase of Quicksave, thanks for sticking with us while we were away ❤. Discussed: Postal: Brain Damaged, Redout 2, Battlefield 2042, Horzion: Zero Dawn, Elden Ring, Jedi: Fallen Order, Dragon's Dogma 2, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth
Welcome to Quicksave [Bytes], where we pick one focused topic to discuss to bring you a shorter, more byte-sized Quicksave experience. Ha. We're so clever. For our first edition of Quicksave [Bytes], Scott and Evan sit down to talk about the games they're most looking forward to in 2022, and also to make some wild-ass predictions about GOTY 2022 (with lots of caveats). But first, mergers and acquisitions, because we can't stop ourselves. Next time we'll be even more focused, promise! DON'T FORGET TO SEND US YOUR EMAILS. Back on our BS just in time for the holidays, after having been stunned into a faux-dairy coma for the past two weeks. Scott's gotten his hands on exciting new space action game Chorus, the brilliant stealth tactics expansion Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun – Aiko’s Choice, and the somewhat controversial Battlefield 2042. Evan's struggled to find and make time for games but he has some thoughts on Halo Infinite's multiplayer mode, Death's Door, and the new Rocket League Sideswipe. Discussed: Chorus 9:25, Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun — Aiko's Choice 28:16, Battlefield 2042 43:45, How to get a new Console 1:24:10, Halo Infinite 1:34:10, Death's Door 1:50:02, Rocket League Sideswipe 1:57:11
We've been making Quicksave for a whole year! Who would have imagined we'd stick with it this long. Not us. We kick the show off with an extremely refined and elegant celebration worthy of only the wealthiest individuals before diving into two weeks worth of GAME CHAT CATCH UP. Scott's got the skinny on Riders Republic, Call of Duty: Vanguard, Lovely Planet Remix, and Bright Memory Infinite. After the break, Evan has some spoiler-free wrap-up thoughts on Inscryption, brief impressions of the Elden Ring network test, and Halo Infinite's surprise multiplayer beta. Discussed: Riders Republic 15:59, Bright Memory: Infinite 34:23, Lovely Planet Remix 52:29, COD: Vanguard 59:17, Inscryption 1:21:06, Elden Ring 1:33:32, Halo Infinite 1:47:51 Links: Viennetta 1987 Commercial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yyxRhnrbHl4 Viennetta 1992 Commercial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BE9wVHjKWM8 Viennetta 1995 Commercial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9iX511rplJY
From the brilliant mind of Hugo Weaving, welcome to Mindjackery! We don't know what this show is but you're stuck in it now. It's a bit early for Game of the Year talk around these parts, but we've got two strong candidates in this show that you probably should hear about. Scott has gone pedal to the medal with Forza Horizon 5, and Evan is utterly taken with (and by?) Inscryption. Discussed: Forza Horizon 5 9:55, Inscryption 1:02:40
Short play lists and sore throats are keeping this week's show coming in nice and slim. Scott's fanning the flames of Nuclear Blaze, a hidden gem from one of the creators of Dead Cells that you simply have to play, and he's learned to enjoy cleansing his palette with Wind Peaks, a lovely hidden items game that's sure to please fans of Where's Waldo and Where's Wally alike. Evan has finished Metroid Dread, and everything you've heard about it is true. He's also been dabbling in the afterlife in I Am Dead, and things are really heating up in Lost Judgment. Discussed: Nuclear Blaze 7:46, Wind Peaks 17:49, Metroid Dread 37:40, I Am Dead 41:52, Lost Judgment 49:31
Welcome to spooky month, in which we are required to do silly spooky bits and you are required to listen and pretend to enjoy them. Also, spooky games! Scott's been playing Back 4 Blood and shares what it's like to get back in the saddle with this spiritual successor to the beloved Left 4 Dead franchise, and he's hyping up Circuit Superstars, the micro-machines like arcade racer with surprising depth. Evan's been having a frightfully good time with Metroid Dread, even if it is a little uneven at times. Discussed: Back 4 Blood 8:41, Circuit Superstars 40:57, Metroid Dread 55:38
Shenanigans! Evan burns a good ten to fifteen minutes* talking about desk setups and cable management before we finally get into VIDEO GAMES. Scott's been spending time with Far Cry 6 and everything you've heard about it is true. Evan is falling in love with Lost Judgment (surprising nobody), and the guys discuss Alan Wake Remastered, which is another discussion that has an outcome you definitely will not predict. *I don't actually listen to this thing so I'm not sure Discussed: Far Cry 6 26:54, Lost Judgment 1:18:50, Alan Wake Remastered 1:42:43
The Fall release tidal wave is crashing on the shores of Saving Content, but we are prepared with steeled nerves and finely adjusted gaming chairs. Scott kicks us off with more Diablo II: Resurrected, because it is in fact that good! He also shares his opinions on Hot Wheels Unleashed, a strong contender for best new arcade racer, and then the guys take a deep dive into Amazon's new MMO, New World. Later, Evan shares early impressions of Lost Judgment and a quick hint of what TOEM is all about. Discussed: Diablo II: Resurrected 6:05, Hot Wheels Unleashed 17:22, New World 37:37, Lost Judgment 1:23:39, TOEM 1:41:24
Scott's gone wings-on with SkateBIRD, a Tony Hawk-alike that's full of charm but fails to stick the landing, and he's gone back to Tristram to rescue Deckard Cain once again to celebrate Diablo II: Resurrected, which is both new and shiny and very much still Diablo II. Evan's been dipping into the font of gaming goodness that is the year 2017 with further adventures in Outer Wilds, and then he desperately tries to explain why 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim is so amazingly good without being able to say anything specific about it. Discussed: SkateBIRD 15:18, Diablo II: Resurrected 24:26, Outer Wilds 42:26, 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim 1:00:09, Nintendo Direct 1:09:38
Happy First Day, everyone! Evan and Scott sit down to dedicate a full episode to Arkane's big new hit, DEATHLOOP. It's hard to say how many times we've had this conversation by now, but it still feels as fresh and exciting as ever. We break down what DEATHLOOP is, all of the things that make it tick, and all of the reasons why we adore it. Discussed: DEATHLOOP
Scott's been playing a real mixed bag of games recently, and he would love to tell you all about them! Comanche (yes, that Comanche), Maneater: Truth Quest, and Dice Legacy have all been on his mind and I bet you can't which of them is good and which ones are not. Evan's finally wrapped up Arkane's 2017 hit Prey, he's spent more time hitchhiking in Road 96, and is exposing his full anime fanboy status in exploring 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim. Please check out our buddy Rex Downham's brand spanking new mobile game, Knight's Edge! He's not paying us to say this, we just really like him and the game is pretty great! Discussed: Comanche 17:38, Maneater: Truth Quest 33:45, Dice Legacy 55:30, Prey (2017) 1:09:40, Road 96 1:31:48, 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim 1:41:23, Alan Wake Remastered 1:49:54, Knight's Edge 1:59:42
We didn't take a break, YOU took a break! While you were gone, Scott's checked out Aliens Fireteam Elite, Myst (the new one), Twelve Minutes, and Golf Club Wasteland. Evan decided that since you were on a break, he would take one too, but he did spend some time with Psychonauts 2 because he's a stand-up dude. And, we have a double-size mailbag! Discussed: Aliens Fireteam Elite 21:10, Myst 33:56, WRC 10 51:24, Twelve Minutes 53:10, Golf Club Wasteland 1:06:25, Hades 1:22:30, Psychonauts 2 1:24:40
