Drawing from Stoic philosophy, we reflect on the ideas of self-control, acceptance, and navigating life's challenges with wisdom and courage. Have you ever heard of Kintsugi? It's a Japanese art form that involves repairing broken pottery with gold or silver lacquer. The philosophy behind Kintsugi is that the broken pieces are not something to be hidden or discarded, but rather to be celebrated and honored. The mended pottery becomes even more beautiful and valuable, with the cracks and imperfections becoming part of its story. This philosophy can be applied to our own lives as well. Often, we strive for perfection and feel shame or embarrassment when we fall short. However, if we can embrace our imperfections and see them as part of our story, we can find beauty and value in our brokenness. Kintsugi teaches us that our imperfections don't diminish our worth; they are part of what makes us unique and valuable. So, let's embrace our imperfections and celebrate our broken pieces, for they are what make us truly beautiful. If you gained any value from this video, please consider liking and subscribing. #embracingimperfection #overcomingperfectionism #mindfulacceptance #findingbeautyinbrokenness #kintsugimindset #selfcompassion #selflove #mindfulnessmeditation #meditationjourney #imperfectlyperfect #stoicism #philosophy #mindfulness #meditation #imperfections #relaxing #calming #bodyscan #pottery

Today’s meditation is about the stoic virtue of justice and how it can inform us in our relationships and communities. Many people, past and present, perceive the stoics as being emotionless and lacking empathy for others. But it becomes apparent after reading the Stoic texts that the philosophy is rooted in compassion, empathy, and love for others for the greater good. Marcus Aurelius said, “The act of dying is one of the acts of life.” Today’s topic deals with death, more specifically that we all experience different types of death in our lives. Of course, we have death of the physical body, but also the death of the self within the human experience. Throughout our lives we have experienced the death of our ideas, memories, friendships, and identity many times. The Stoics taught us ways in which death should be viewed in order to live a good life. Welcome to Mindfully Stoic. A channel dedicated to increasing mindfulness through the lens of the ancient philosophy of Stoicism. Today's guided meditation is on the Buddhist concept of the non-toothache as described by Thich Nhat Hanh. The idea of non-toothache is to create a sense of mindfulness so that we can be both grateful and happy. If we are unable to be aware of our happiness, then we are unable to be happy. Awareness of what is going well in our lives can help get us out of the loop of negative thinking. What can an ancient philosophy teach us on modern issues like social media? While social media did not exist in the times of the stoics, the stoics provided wisdom on related subjects such as praise, idleness, and where to focus our attention. Our attention is one of the most valuable commodities.Link to Study: https://scholar.harvard.edu/files/danielgilbert/files/a-wandering-mind-is-an-unhapy-mind-killingsworthe-ma-science-2010.pdfMusic Attribution:Music from Uppbeat (free for Creators!):https://uppbeat.io/t/ambient-boy/mindfulness-journeyLicense code: 7KSH50HQCS4LSMEW#mindfulness#philosophy#buddhism#stoicism#meditation#MindfullyStoic#marcusaurelius #relaxing#socialmedia #addiction #senecaquotes
Today’s session will strictly be on breath work, specifically a method called box breathing. This method is really easy to remember and easy to use throughout your day when you need to calm your body and mind. Box breathing is when you inhale for 4 seconds, hold for 4 seconds, exhale for 4 seconds, hold for 4 seconds, and repeat. If you have difficulty with 4 seconds, you can modify it to 2 or 3 seconds per step. Let's begin. The following music was used for this media project:Music: Wind Of The Rainforest Preview by Kevin MacLeodFree download: https://filmmusic.io/song/5729-wind-of-the-rainforest-previewLicense (CC BY 4.0): https://filmmusic.io/standard-licenseArtist website: https://incompetech.com#buddhism #meditation #guidedmeditation #mindfulness #mindset #anxiety #stressrelief #stress #relaxing #calm #stoicism #boxbreathing #5minutemeditation #5minute
Welcome to Mindfully Stoic, a channel dedicated to increasing mindfulness through the lens of the ancient philosophy of Stoicism.Today’s guided meditation is on the Stoic cardinal virtue of Courage. Stoic Courage can be defined by one's ability to live one’s principles and values despite opposition. It is the opposite of cowardice, or the running away from one’s fears and problems. For the stoic sage, vice is the only thing that should be feared because it is within our power to avoid. We might experience impressions or impulses of fear when our automatic, habitual responses take over momentarily. However, we can decide if we need to give assent to these impressions and act accordingly with courage. Hello everyone and Welcome Back to Mindfully Stoic Channel. Our channel is dedicated to increasing mindfulness through the lens of the ancient philosophy of Stoicism.Interest in meditation, mindfulness, and contemplation has grown exponentially in recent years. For millions around the world, mindfulness has become a life-style choice, enhancing and enriching everyday experience. This guided meditation is on the idea of non-attachment taught in various religions and philosophies such as Buddhism, Taoism, and Stoicism. Non-attachment can be described as the overcoming of emotional clinging to ideas, identities, externals, and things outside of our control. By not attaching ourselves to these things we can experience less suffering and more empathy for others. Prior to discussing non-attachment, I will quote Alan Watts to help ground ourselves in the present moment. Thanks for watching!✨ 𝐈𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐨, 𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐢𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐭.✨ 𝐃𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐮𝐛𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐦𝐲 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐥 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐮𝐩𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬.https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCeoIFWsYuvBjEDt7OELw_FASuggested videos for you:1. 10 Minute Stoic Guided Meditation on Overcoming Adversity: No Mud, No Lotus, No Shipwreck, No Stoic https://youtu.be/U-6MbBoScSs2. Alcohol. Some use it to wind down after a long week, some use it to connect better with others on a social level, and others do it to drown their troubles. Whatever your reason is for drinking or abstaining, I will be discussing what the stoics taught, what modern science teaches, and my personal thoughts on the matter.Links: https://www.cdc.gov/transportationsafety/impaired_driving/impaired-drv_factsheet.html#:~:text=How%20big%20is%20the%20problem%3F%201%20In%202016%2C,%2817%25%29%20involved%20an%20alcohol-impaired%20driver.%201%20More%20itemshttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Long-term_effects_of_alcohol#:~:text=not%20present%20%20%20Alcohol-related%20crimes%20%20,cancer%20Cortiso%20...%20%203%20more%20rows%20Huberman Lab on Alcohol: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DkS1pkKpILYMusic Attribution:Music: Paper Flakes by Rafael KruxFree download: https://filmmusic.io/song/5695-paper-flakesLicense (CC BY 4.0): https://filmmusic.io/standard-licenseArtist website: https://www.orchestralis.net/
#amorfati #stoicmeditation #radicalacceptance Hello everyone and Welcome Back to Mindfully Stoic Channel. What is the meaning of the Stoic practice of Amor Fati? Stoicism is an excellent framework for modern life, the ideas are simple on the surface, but the value can be profound. Amor Fati is the practice of accepting and embracing everything that has happened, is happening, and is yet to happen. It is understanding that the nature of the universe is change, and that without change we would not exist, our relationships would not exist, we wouldn’t laugh, cry, love, create, or grow. We would not experience any of this. This guided meditation on Amor Fati (the love of one's fate) draws upon the wisdom of Nietzche, Epictetus, Albert Camus, Marcus Aurelius, and Gandalf. Thanks for watching!✨ 𝐈𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐨, 𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐢𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐭.✨ 𝐃𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐮𝐛𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐦𝐲 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐥 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐮𝐩𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬.https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCeoIFWsYuvBjEDt7OELw_FAFollow me on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/mindfully.stoic/T-Shirts: https://www.etsy.com/at/shop/ReanJeanClothingSuggested videos for you:1. Today’s guided meditation is about challenging our negative thoughts. A lot of the time when we are anxious, we have difficulty getting out of our head. The chatter that arises can be overwhelming and decrease our overall well-being. We will learn some questions that we can ask ourselves during times of stress and anxiety to alleviate these feelings and have a clear view of our situation.Music Attribution:Garden Music by Kevin MacLeodFree download: https://filmmusic.io/song/3796-garden-musicLicense (CC BY 4.0): https://filmmusic.io/standard-licenseArtist website: https://incompetech.com
By applying principles and practices of Stoicism and Buddhism, I was able to deal with the difficult emotions, stress, and anxiety that came with a Mormon Faith Crisis. Our channel is dedicated to increasing mindfulness through the lens of the ancient philosophy of Stoicism.Interest in meditation, mindfulness, and contemplation has grown exponentially in recent years. For millions around the world, mindfulness has become a life-style choice, enhancing and enriching everyday experience.Today’s guided meditation is about ego and how we can eliminate it. Ego is difficult to define but can be summarized by our false sense of self that seeks for approval, engages in self-deception, and places blame on others for one’s own mistakes. It is the part of us that is overly concerned with portraying ourselves in a way to others that may not be entirely true. Having an over inflated ego can damage relationships and prevent one from realizing their true potential. Thanks for watching!✨ 𝐈𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐨, 𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐢𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐭.✨ 𝐃𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐮𝐛𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐦𝐲 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐥 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐮𝐩𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬.https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCeoIFWsYuvBjEDt7OELw_FAFollow me on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/mindfully.stoic/Suggested videos for you:1.
