Cindy Famero Currently works for the Office of Disability Concerns as a Disability Advocate. She is the mother of seven children 4 boys and 3 girls. She is originally from Lawton area but moved to the West Coast in her early 20's. She and her family moved back home in 2015 from the Bay area where she worked at the Friendship House, Native American Healing Center as a substance use disorder counselor. Ms. Famero attends Cameron University where she is President of the Native American Student Association. Her major is interdisciplinary Studies with a major of Criminal Justice and minor in Psychology. Ms. Famero works in the community in several ways. She is the founder of Warrior Women Society, a community-based organization that helps indigenous women with all things that supportive services do not help with, founding member of the Comanch Academy Indigenous Charter school, founding member of fthe Lawton Indigenous Peoples Day, Board member of MMIW Indian Capitol,  Vice President of the Cameron University Native American Student Association (NASA). Ms. Famero was awarded Woman of the Year 2019 for Comanche County by the Mayor's commission on the Status of Women and most recently Parent of the Year from the Oklahoma Council of Indian Education. Being indigenous of the people on Turtle Island, Spencer is open to pray and help anyone out with the Peyote ways of life, and he sings gourd dance songs when asked to.
