Most kids are not spending their time in solitude exploring the abilities of the mind. In that way, Narayan Liebenson was not like most kids. Fascinated with the mind since a young age, she has led a life studying meditation in different traditions. Her training over the past forty years includes study with meditation masters in the Theravada, Zen, and Tibetan traditions. In 1985, Liebenson co-founded the Cambridge Insight Meditation Center, which describes itself as "an urban refuge and teaching center for all who seek inner peace through the liberating practice of Insight Meditation." She has been practicing mindfulness meditation since 1989, including a year as a Buddhist nun in Burma! I would love a discussion of grudges and how to release them. Often the person against whom the grudge is held is untouchable b/c either they have not earned the trust needes to have a vilnerable conversation ("what you did hurt") or they simply are not physically in your life any more.

I was pleased that this went beyond the old materialist paradigm that does a very slow death in the wake of quantum reality. however I wished they would have taken the next big step. consciousness as fundamental rather than so called matter. science went wrong when it went down the materialist deterministic path. but on our level it certainly seemed plausible. not so much anymore, in fact it doesn't work on the quantum level

i dont agree with Dali Lamma .. religions can be very destructive. its not like food.. cutting off heads or saying your going to hell if your not in it is not right actions.. So I say hes totally wrong on this issue to stay in a religion.

You can meditate for decades but that doesn't mean your sexuality is gone. You have the possibility of turning this into the catholic church and allnthe pedophilia. Dont repress sexuality but dont do it with your students obviously.

I really hope Dan, in later episodes, doesn’t sound so capitalistic. He seems to have an overriding an underlying motive to make money. I hope this changes as the image of this podcast is quite the opposite. Perhaps it would help if he became more humble, perhaps he does, I will listen to more eps to see if he does.
