Anchors away...it's boat people time! While Brendan if off doing stuff that needs doing, Dave and I take you on a journey through the clouds with everyone's favorite flying Duardin. Neither of us was excited to review this book, but the more we dived in, the more we enjoyed it. By the end of the review, we agreed that this is a solid, if inconsistent, book. One of the Regiments of Renown was of interest to all three of us, and we'll see how many times it appears in the wild. In Liber Nordtrumus, Dave walks us through the non-Space Marine factions in Heresy for those that might be interested in a few more options.

A new Battletome to review...and we are ready to talk Idoneth Deepkin! More than a refresh, this one seems to be a ground up reimagining. Very unique Battle Traits, some new heroes and a sprinkling of great abilities throughout the book. Bloodthirsty Shiver, one of the new Regiments of Renown, is Dan's favorite of the book. Dave joins us for the next installment of Liber Nordstrumus (formerly Heresy Hangout) to discuss some short lived controversy, also known as the Drop Site Rules Massacre, and some recommendations regarding getting started with product. With a bit of the road under our feet, thought it was time to walk through a couple of Indexes to see how they shape up in the new General's Handbook. We chose Sylvaneth and Nighthaunt for a first go...we may certainly do this again if folks would like us to continue and as time permits. We also have a new segment on the show called Heresy Hangout...listen to the Show Open for a bit of back story to find out how this came to pass. Cohost Dave, a solid Heresy fanboy, will be leading out discussions for each 10-20 minute segment, which will be right at the beginning of our Emperor Lies portion of the show. It's a great time to be a Sigmar player! The new GHB, including new battle tactics rules and battle plans, is a real refresh for the game. From army building to rolling dice, the game seems more dynamic, more fun and more interesting. Cohost Dave joins us this episode, and we each pick a couple of tactics and battle plans to review in detail...a bit of theatre of the mind for those battle plan reviews to be sure! Really looking forward to giving this new rules set a go. We also spend a moment finishing off the last two Scourge of Gyrhan drops (SYLVANETH!) and do a Battlescroll "flyover" as well.

As we talk through the latest drop of Scourge of Ghyran, it is good, bad and ugly this go around. Rotigus is a clear favorite of the guys, and some other gems in this new content are worthy of a look. For us, it is again new options that hopefully will motivate folks to try some creative list building and refresh what we're seeing on the table. Please note that my Sylvaneth dropped the day after we recorded, and I am quite happy with it...we will discuss briefly in Episode 169. Also exciting that the new GHB and gear went on preorder this weekend, as well as the new "season" for Spearhead!

Welcome to Milwaukee and Adepticon 2025! We had a blast and very different experiences over our four days there. So many good things to say, so many great changes. Brendan took home a boat load of medals and Dan met one of his favorite GW authors! Sigmar Teams, Youngbloods, paint judging and The Pit...lots of gaming goodness. There's plenty of stuff in the new Gloomspite Gitz Battletome...Gitz (and Squigs), Trolls, Spiders, and something new...lots of wolves! There are so many moving parts here and so many combinations of units that the book can seem a bit overwhelming. While we found the Armies of Renown to be watered down versions of the rest of the book, the new Gitmob Regiment of Renown has lots of potential. Safe travels to those heading to Adepticon this week...so grateful to have it in my hometown this year!

Thought we would tackle something that many Sigmar players think about...how do I deal with those units that are just a pain in the butt? Dan calls out a unit, and Brendan gives us some rules context then offers some thoughts on ways to deal with these problems. Remember, some problems may not have good solutions! We also take some time to offer our thoughts on planning paint and basing projects. For some, these ideas may already be part of your hobby...we're hoping there will be something for hobbyists of all levels. Whoa...two factions in one battletome! Ironjawz and Kruleboyz bringing the hurt and the sneakiness. Not too excited for this one except for the beefy Spearhead. That being said, we Cube this bad boy in our usual way and have a great time doing it. The "big pig" army of renown in the app (it's not in the book) looks pretty fun too. That Ironjawz army of renown might be showing up a bit more often now...faster than you think and those Ardboyz are just chonky!

The first show of 2025...Happy New Year! It appears that GDub actually listened to the community as the December '24 Battlescroll has some meaningful changes. There is a ton of stuff in this document, and we tried to get to the most impactful changes. Right at the start there are important changes to the Seasonal Rules. Lots of other faction specific updates as well. Not a long show, but an important one.
