Please Bear with Me is back after a few weeks off to cover all the news surrounding the Baylor Bears. Coaching switch ups, decommits, commits, transfer portal news, and of course a preview of the Air Force game are all on the table this episode. Travis begins the episode congratulating the Bears who were awarded All Big 12 Team honors. Dillon Doyle was the story of this year's honorees making both the 2nd team defensive and offensive teams. Congratulations Dillon! Then Travis will talk about the release of Defensive Coordinator Ron Roberts and Safeties/Special Teams coach Ronnie Wheat. He'll discuss who's at the top of his list to replace Coach Roberts. Then Bears Illustrated recruiting analyst Jordan Scruggs joins Please Bear with Me. He'll discuss the recent interest from Oregon in Austin Novasod and the decommitments from the Bear's recruiting class. Jordan will react to the transfer portal news and is sure Baylor will lose a few more following the bowl game. Baylor did pick up 2 transfer portal commits in OL Campbell Barrington from BYU and Jerrell Boykins DT from Hutchinson Community College. Jordan will end with his thoughts on the changing landscape of NIL, recruiting, and the transfer portal. He gives his take on if recruiting classes will lose importance and value moving forward with the transfer portal. Finally, Travis gets you ready for the Bears final matchup of the season vs Air Force. Air Force has a stout defense and the staple of their offense is the triple option which has shown the ability to give other team's fits. It'll be important for Baylor to play physical and do their 1/11th on defense, but it might be just what the Bears need heading into next season. It's going to be a freezing day in Fort Worth so bundle up and Sic em Bears!  JOIN THE BANTER: Follow @PleaseBearW_Me on Twitter and Please Bear With Me on Facebook. Baylor was unable to snag a signature win in Austin last weekend as the Longhorns used the rushing attack to close out the game 38-27. Despite winning the time of possession, turnover battle, and having a defensive score the Bears were unable to score any offensive points in the 2nd half and lost. Andrew Miner joins Please Bear with Me to wrap up the regular season. First we'll discuss the recent hirings of Matt Rhule to Nebraska and Luke Fickell to Wisconsin and how we think each coach will do at their new Universities. Then the guys will break down the loss to the Longhorns and what the issues were in the 2nd half for the Bears. Next Andrew and Travis will take a look back on the season and discuss what went right and what went wrong. Andrew has no concerns with the defense heading into next year even though it was Aranda's lowest ranked defense in regards to SP+ rankings in 10 years. They'll discuss what positions the Bears should add via the transfer portal and who will be QB1 for next season. Finally the two wrap up by comparing their Big 12 picks preseason and what actually happened (Hint: It wasn't pretty). Then they'll give their takes on the College Football Playoff and what the conference championship games mean this weekend. Could every top 4 team lose this weekend and still make the Playoff? Travis seems to think so. Bear with us this week to recap the regular season! JOIN THE BANTER: Follow @PleaseBearW_Me on Twitter and Please Bear With Me on Facebook. Baylor had every opportunity to play spoiler to TCU's season, but fell short as TCU hit a FG as time expired to go on to win 29-28. Baylor heads to Austin this week for maybe the final time (at least for awhile) to face the Texas Longhorns. Texas needs to win to keep their Big 12 title hopes alive, but will count on Kansas to knock off Kansas State in order for that to happen. Scotty Swingler joins Please Bear with Me this week to discuss the gut-wrenching loss to TCU. The guys will run through the final few drives of the game and why Baylor's offense wasn't able to secure 1 first down to secure the win. The Bears played well enough to win on defense holding TCU well below their season scoring average, but Baylor was unable to play complimentary football. Scotty and Travis then give their thoughts on the play of Blake Shapen and the offense behind Jeff Grimes. It will be interesting to see where the Bears go from here on offense. Finally, we wrap up with a preview of the matchup vs the Texas Longhorns and why Scotty still isn't sold on this Texas team. Travis talks his Bear Necessities and Scotty adds it will be crucial to keep Bijan Robinson in check. Both think the Bears have the ability to escape Austin with a win. Baylor wraps up it's regular season on Black Friday and hopes to ride off into the sunset on a high note. Please Bear with Me wishes you and your family a Happy Thanksgiving, and if you sneak off to listen while the family is in town don't worry.... our lips are sealed! It was a rough night in Waco for the Baylor Bears as they were unable to score a touchdown in a 31-3 beating by the Kansas State Wildcats. It was an incredible turnout in a blackout themed game for the fans, but the team wasn't able to rise to the occasion. Travis rides solo this week and he kicks off the episode with a short, yes short, recap of the Kansas State game. He doesn't mince words as he quickly admits the Bears were flat out embarrassed at home. Travis was disappointed in the defensive gameplan to keep coming with the corner blitz and the inability to stop Deuce Vaughn. Offensively, the Bears weren't able to score a TD and ended the game with only 23 rushes, 7 of which were from Blake Shapen. Travis then answers a few fan questions with one revolving around choosing Shapen as Baylor's starting QB this year. He answers if he thinks it was a mistake or not to ride with Blake Shapen this year and lays out the reasons behind it. Has Shapen hit his ceiling and is it time to see what we have in Drones? Finally, Travis turns his attention to the matchup vs the undefeated TCU Horned Frogs as they visit Waco on Saturday. TCU will be the best offense the Bears have faced all year and one of the most explosive offenses in the country that has 13 TD's of over 50 yards. Baylor will have to find a way to limit Quentin Johnston and Kendre Miller as they both can score any time they touch the ball. Travis wraps up with his "Bear Necessities" and of course a game prediction. Bear with us this week and get ready for a massive rivalry game vs TCU. It's always an exciting game when these two teams face each other and regardless of each other's records it seems to always be a close game. Baylor has a chance to avenge its loss to TCU last year that likely kept them out of the College Football Playoff and return the favor. We'll find out if they can on Saturday! Baylor is bowl eligible after a hard fought 38-35 win in Norman against the Sooners. The Bears have now won back-to-back road games and back-to-back games vs Oklahoma. Only 3 times has a team to beat OU in back-to-back years since 2010 and Baylor has now done it twice. Former Baylor OL Blake Blackmar of Blackmar BBQ returns to Please Bear with Me in the midst of Baylor's ongoing title defense. Travis opens the show discussing the 4 teams still in the running for the Big 12 Championship and what Baylor must do to make it to Arlington. Baylor controls its own destiny, but will have to win out against the 3 toughest Big 12 opponents remaining. Then Blake and Travis break down the win vs OU. Blake tells us what it's like to travel to Norman and the experiences he's had in the visiting locker room. Bottom line is it really stunk. The OL is rolling right now and Blake explains what Khalil Keith has brought to this team and the OL. The Bears are 3-0 since Keith's return. Finally the guys will look ahead to a big matchup vs the Kansas State Wildcats in Waco. The two are both hoping that Kansas State will continue starting Martinez at QB because it makes the Wildcats one dimensional. Also, Baylor will definitely have its hands full facing Deuce Vaughn, one of the most talented RB's in the nation. Both believe he will be an essential part of Kansas State's offensive gameplan. Baylor gets its first win in Lubbock since 1990 this past weekend defeating the Red Raiders 45-17. We were told we should "Fear the Dark" in Lubbock, but in the end it wasn't very scary. The Bears intercepted 3 different QB's 5 total times in route to a big win and now are just 1 win away from bowl eligibility. Paul Catalina of SicEm365 joins Please Bear with Me this week and we start this week's episode discussing the new TV deal signed by the Big 12 and ESPN/FOX. Paul thinks this is a positive step forward for the conference and Travis praises new Big 12 commissioner Brett Yormark for an impressive few months in his new position. After much talk of the Big 12 ending it seems as if that is all but a fairy tale now. Then the conversation turns to a recap of the Texas Tech game. Paul discusses how this was by far Baylor's most complete game of the season and the maturation of the team. He also thinks the Bears will continue to lean on Richard Reese heavily if Sqwirl Williams and Taye McWilliams continue to be out. Finally we turn our attention to Baylor's 2nd road game in a row as they travel to Norman to take on the Oklahoma Sooners. The pair feel confident in the Bear's chances, but road wins are hard to come by. This OU team might not be what they once were, but they seem to be turning a corner and finding an identity. Kickoff is at 2pm CST on ESPN+ so if you aren't a subscriber start reaching out to friends who are. You will not want to miss another exciting matchup vs the Sooners. S6E10 - Lubbock Looms

S6E10 - Lubbock Looms

2022-10-2648:06

The Baylor Bears bounced back last weekend with a 35-23 win over the Kansas Jayhawks. The Jayhawks made it interesting after coming back down 28-3 at half, but the Bears were able to fend them off with a late 4th quarter touchdown. Now Baylor will head to Lubbock on Saturday for a matchup with the Texas Tech Red Raiders in their blackout game. This week Travis is joined by former Baylor QB Seth Russell. The conversation begins with discussing the pair's favorite Halloween candies and what can be left out moving forward. Seth has an unusual candy that he thinks is awful and has no place in the month of October. The boys will then talk some Baylor Football starting with the mindset of the team after 7 games and if they should still be setting their minds on a Big 12 Championship. Seth thinks the Bears still have a lot left to play for and Travis agrees. Then they'll jump into the Kansas game and how the Jayhawks were able to make somewhat of a comeback. Travis then dives deep into Seth's thoughts on the play of Blake Shapen. Seth discusses Shapen's biggest strengths and what he wants to see Shapen improve on. Seth isn't too concerned about Shapen's fumbles over the last 2 weeks and trusts the coaches will coach him up on escaping the pocket a little better. Next they'll touch briefly on the defense and the lack of pass rush generated so far this year before ending with a preview of Texas Tech. Seth wants to see the Bears line up and play within themselves and expects the Tech crowd to be wild (and maybe throw some batteries... tortillas for sure though).  Bear with us as we get ready for a great matchup in Lubbock. The Bears could not make it out alive vs West Virginia on Thursday night, and just as we presumed things got weird. Baylor fell 43-40 in a gut wrenching loss and could not overcome special teams mistakes once again. Unfortunately, we'll have to wait another 2 years before trying again for our first win in Morgantown. Travis rides solo this week and kicks off the episode with a "state of the team" address. Travis believes it's too late for this team to become truly elite and make the Big 12 Championship game, and resets the floor and ceiling for the Bears. Although there is a possibility Baylor will miss out on a bowl game this season (which Travis thinks would be truly disappointing), but he does not believe that will happen. Travis will also explain that even though it seems dire the sky is not falling for Baylor. In ESPN's metrics the team is ranked 18th in FPI and 21st in the SP+ rankings. The Bears are not bad by any stretch of the imagination, but special teams has been a huge reason as to why the team sits at 3-3. The discussion then turns to a recap of the WVU game, and what Travis believes are the main reasons for Baylor's struggles. (Hint: It's not the offense).  Finally, this episode wraps up with a preview of the Homecoming matchup vs the Jayhawks. Travis explains the matchup to watch for and the "Bear Necessities" for a Baylor win. Kansas will be without star QB Jaylen Daniels, but they still have enough offensive firepower to win in Waco. The Baylor Bears will look to bounce back on the road on Thursday night in Morgantown vs the West Virginia Mountaineers. Baylor does not have a very good track record when visiting West Virginia and things can get weird on Thursday nights, but the Bears need a win to get back on track for the loaded back half of their schedule. This week Travis is joined by Brian Horn, recruiting analyst for Bears Illustrated. Brian kicks off the show breaking down Baylor's recruiting strategy and their ability to find a "diamond in the rough". Baylor was able to make the connection early with 4 stat QB Austin Novosad before his national recruitment took off, and Brian thinks that went a long way in his decision. Novosad chose Baylor over perennial powers in Ohio State and Notre Dame and then that other school Texas A&M.  Then Brian will dive a little deeper into next year's class and who he thinks could have an impact early in their career like Richard Reese is doing for the Bears this year. He also clues us into who he thinks is the most underrated recruit of the '23 class. Brian thinks the Bears still have room for 1-2 more guys in next year's class and he breaks down what position he'd like the see Baylor add. The guys will wrap up with a quick synopsis of West Virginia and the outlook for the game. They both agree the deep passing attack of West Virginia is the matchup to watch for, and if the Mountaineers are going to win that's how it will happen. Here's to hoping for a normal night in West Virginia, but honestly doubt that will happen. Weirdness will likely ensue. Sic 'em! Baylor dropped its second game of the season this past weekend vs the Oklahoma State Cowboys with a final score of 36-25. The rematch of the Big 12 Championship tilted towards the Pokes in a pivotal game early in the conference schedule. Travis is joined this week by Matt Wilson (aka mattisbear) to talk about last week's Big 12 matchups and the remainder of the season for the Bears. After a disappointing loss Travis decided to kick off this episode with something that would make all Bears' fans feel better, the embarrassment of Oklahoma football by the hand of TCU. Oklahoma never had a chance in this game. Then the guys will discuss the loss to Oklahoma State. The Bears may have had their most explosive offensive game yet, but a few key plays is what earned the Pokes the win. Baylor was able to move the ball effectively and limited themselves to only 2 penalties, and overall Matt and Travis think the Bears’ played well. Finally, they’ll look ahead to the remainder of the season. Yes it will be tough, but Travis points out that the schedule is a bit flipped from what he thought to begin the year. It seemed as if the trips to Austin and Norman would be the hardest, but now it seems as if Baylor’s toughest remaining tests will come at home vs Kansas, TCU, and Kansas State.  Pinecast - https://please-bear-with-me.pinecast.co/ Apple Podcasts - https://podcasts.apple.com/podcast/id1275909597?app=podcast&ls=1 Spotify - https://open.spotify.com/show/7gmHC6MmH3Zxd0CBfsqNIZ Twitter - https://twitter.com/pleasebearw_me?lang=en Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/PleaseBearWithMePodcast/ JOIN THE BANTER: Follow @PleaseBearW_Me on Twitter and Please Bear With Me on Facebook. The Baylor Bears return home to McLane stadium to face the Oklahoma State Cowboys after defeating Iowa State 31-24. It seems the Bears were able to learn from the trip to Provo earlier this year and take out the Cyclones on the road in Ames. Drake Toll of Locked On Baylor joins Please Bear with Me to discuss the Iowa State game. Travis and Drake don't think the score was indicative of how the game really went. The Bear's were in control of this game from the start and Iowa State couldn't get anything going in the rushing game. Baylor also was able to intercept Iowa State QB Hunter Dekkers twice for their first 2 INT's of the year. Travis thinks the Bears have turned a corner. Then they'll discuss the upcoming match vs Oklahoma State and if either team will use last year's Big 12 Championship as motivation. Last year Baylor defeated the Cowboys for the Big 12 Championship leaving Oklahoma State literally inches from the CFP on a play Baylor Nation has dubbed "The McPlay. Travis doesn't seem worried about the game, and Drake gives his keys for a Baylor win. Finally Travis wraps up with his Bear Necessities and game prediction. It's a Gold Out at McLane Stadium this weekend, so if you're going to the game make sure you wear gold and BE LOUD! Cyclones enter this game with an undefeated record of 3-0 while the Baylor Bears sit at 2-1. Baylor faced a tough road test in Week 2 at BYU, and we'll soon find out if they learned from their road mistakes. Travis opens the show up talking about what Dave talked about as he plays a clip from Coach Aranda's weekly press conference. Aranda was asked about the expectations of the team and if it has had any affect on them. Aranda goes on to explain the feelings in the locker room at halftime of the Texas State game, and Travis gives his reaction. After, Shehan Jeyarajah joins Please Bear with Me to give his insight. Travis and Shehan will discuss the Texas State game, expectations of this Baylor team at the beginning of the season vs now, what's wrong with the offense, and will look ahead to Iowa State. Shehan explains the challenge the Bears' will face this weekend with one of the best WR's in the Big 12, Xavier Hutchinson.  The show ends with Shehan and Travis diving into this week's "Oso or Oh No" segment with questions regarding the Iowa State matchup. Both of the guys think a lot will be learned of Baylor this weekend, and are hopeful of the outcome of the game. Join Please Bear with Me to prepare yourself for a tough Big 12 opener vs the Cyclones.  Pinecast - https://please-bear-with-me.pinecast.co/ Apple Podcasts - https://podcasts.apple.com/podcast/id1275909597?app=podcast&ls=1 Spotify - https://open.spotify.com/show/7gmHC6MmH3Zxd0CBfsqNIZ Twitter - https://twitter.com/pleasebearw_me?lang=en Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/PleaseBearWithMePodcast/ JOIN THE BANTER: Follow @PleaseBearW_Me on Twitter and Please Bear With Me on Facebook. What a wild night it was in Provo, Utah as the Bears fell in double OT 26-20 to the BYU Cougars. It was a sloppy and undisciplined game for the Bears, but they somehow managed to stay in the game with a chance to win at the end. From full moons, cougar tails, and 60,000 plus screaming mormons it is sure to be the toughest atmosphere Baylor will see this year even with trips to Austin and Norman in the future. Travis kicks off this episode with Coach Aranda's opening statements from his BYU postgame press conference. Aranda opened his statements with a smile and encouraging words about the team, and how he was proud of the way they fought. It was just what Travis needed to hear at 2:30am on a Sunday morning to finally get some sleep.  We'll keep the positive vibes flowing as Travis takes a step back to explain his perspective on how he likes Baylor's position in relation to the other Big 12 teams. Most other teams in the league won't face a tough road environment or adversity until league play begins, and Baylor will have faced both while still 0-0 in conference play.  Then Travis takes a deep dive into the game to explain what he thinks went wrong and why. At some point the Baylor offense didn't trust Shapen to throw the ball, and that showed as Baylor rushed the ball 52 times. Travis is concerned with the WR group and thinks someone needs to step up as a playmaker before it's too late. But... as badly as Baylor played they still had a chance to win at the end of the game. And Travis thinks that's something to be proud of against a Top #15 team on the road.  Finally we'll turn the page on what was last weekend and move on to Texas State. Travis wants to see the team build their overall confidence, and specifically to see Shapen develop rapport with his WR's. Don't be shocked to see the starters play the entire game even if Baylor is up by 30. The offense needs to find an identity, and this is the last opportunity to do so before starting Big 12 conference play. S6E3 - Mormons vs Baptists

2022-09-0701:05:53

The Bears cruised to a 69-10 win against the Great Danes last Saturday in a nice tune up game before heading up to Provo, Utah this weekend. This Saturday's matchup versus BYU will feature 2 top 25 teams, and 2 of the best offensive lines in the nation. It will be a tough game for the Bears as BYU has the highest percentage of returning production from last year and certainly have circled this game on their calendars. Huge news in the college football world as it was announced last week the College Football Playoff will be expanded to 12 teams including automatic bids for 6 conference champions. Dave Aranda was asked about the expansion and that's exactly where this episode begins. We'll hear what Coach Aranda had to say and then Travis' reaction. Will this decrease the likelihood that we see 2 "superconferences" emerge and what does this mean for Baylor and the Big 12? Travis discusses. Travis recaps the game vs Albany last weekend and what impressed and didn't impress him. He wanted to see the offensive line get off to a better start, and the defense to contain the QB better.  Then Jarom Jordan Co-Host of BYU Sports Nation joins Please Bear with Me to discuss the matchup between Baylor and BYU amongst other things. Jarom explains how excited the BYU fanbase is to join the Big 12 and mentions what a positive experience it was for fans visiting Waco last year. Then they'll dive into the game this weekend and the expectations of both teams. Travis and Jarom will also discuss the multiple layers going on in this game from future Big 12 opponents, to Grimes and Mateos returning to BYU, and the Mormon vs Baptist budding rivalry. Travis wraps up with the "Bear Necessities" and his week 2 picks. Bear with us this week and let's get excited for the trip to Provo, this has the makings of a Baylor Football classic.  Pinecast - https://please-bear-with-me.pinecast.co/ Apple Podcasts - https://podcasts.apple.com/podcast/id1275909597?app=podcast&ls=1 Spotify - https://open.spotify.com/show/7gmHC6MmH3Zxd0CBfsqNIZ Twitter - https://twitter.com/pleasebearw_me?lang=en Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/PleaseBearWithMePodcast/ JOIN THE BANTER: Follow @PleaseBearW_Me on Twitter and Please Bear With Me on Facebook. The long off-season wait will finally come to a close this weekend as the Baylor Bears take on the Albany Great Danes. Travis Corley and Please Bear With Me are here to get you ready. The show kicks off with Scotty Swingler and host Travis Corley running through Baylor's schedule and predicting wins and losses for the Bears. While they both have high expectations for the season it might shock you to hear who they have beating Baylor. The schedule isn't as favorable as it was last year, but Baylor still has a strong chance to repeat as Big 12 Champions. Friend of the podcast and host of The Bears Illustrated Podcast, Andrew Miner, will then join us to talk Big 12 and the upcoming matchup vs. Albany. Andrew and Travis give us their pre-season Big 12 power rankings and who they think has a shot of playing in the Big 12 Championship game. The two think there might be a dark horse team in the mix by the end of the season. Andrew gives us his floor and ceiling for the Bears, and Travis gives his reasons why he thinks the Bears' floor is a bit lower than Andrew thinks.  To wrap up they talk about the Bears vs Great Danes matchup and their expectations for the game. While they both expect the Bears to win there are still a few things the guys want to see. Finally, it's our new favorite segment "Oso or Oh No" with topics revolving around this weekend's game. Fans won't have to worry (too much) about the heat this weekend as Baylor kicks off their season with an evening game. Hope to see everyone there! Sic 'em Bears! Another season of Baylor Football is almost upon us and Please Bear With Me is back to talk about the upcoming season. Expectations have not been this high for the Bears in quite some time, so it should be a very exciting season. Scotty Swingler joins host Travis Corley to talk about the season expectations. They begin the episode discussing the re-commitment of 4 Star QB Austin Novasod and how big a win this was for the program. Travis thinks this was Baylor recruiting hitting it's second win after a big recruiting summer. Then the boys dive into what they're most excited for, and what they're most worried about for the Bears this season. Travis and Scotty discuss what makes an offense reliable. Then they debate if the RVO offense will be as reliable and violent as it was last year. The episode wraps up with discussions of which Baylor players they believe will make All-Big 12 and All-American teams. Finally a new segment called "Oso or Oh No" makes its debut on the podcast. Travis and Scotty will debate on whether they agree (Oso) or disagree (Oh No) on several statements about Baylor's season. Baylor transitions from being the hunters to the hunted after being picked to win the Big 12. They certainly have a great shot at going back-to-back, and that will start September 3rd against the Great Danes of Albany. Spring Special!

Spring Special!

2022-04-2641:23

It was a great day to be back at McLane for the Baylor football spring game. The alumni BBQ competition surely got everyone back in the mood for tailgating and football. Expectations are high as Baylor begins their trek to defend their Big 12 Championship on the heels of the greatest season in Baylor history. Travis begins the episode explaining what the expectations should be from a Spring game. You won’t be able to gather how good the upcoming season will go, but you can definitely get a feel for which players improved and who might win starting positions.  Then we’ll dive into who impressed Travis the most in the Spring game. There are alot of questions at wide receiver and a few players emerged as potential starters. Spots are still open in the receiver group, but we at least got a good indication of who it may be. Finally Travis will give his 2 cents on the QB battle and who he believes will be leading the Bears next year at the position. Coach Aranda said he wants to name the starter by the end of Spring football. Will it be Blake Shapen or will it be Gerry Bohanon? Regardless of who is chosen Baylor is in great position at QB and Travis believes both players can lead Baylor to another Big 12 Championship. There is alot to look forward to for the upcoming season. So sit back, relax, and listen in and let’s enjoy the fact that there’s some Baylor football to talk about.  JOIN THE BANTER: Follow @PleaseBearW_Me on Twitter and Please Bear With Me on Facebook. A Sugar Sweet Season Finale

A Sugar Sweet Season Finale

2022-01-0501:33:38

The Bears capped off a sugar sweet football season with a 21-7 win in the Sugar Bowl for Baylor's first ever NY6 bowl victory. This 12 win season is a program record and what an amazing turnaround it was for Coach Dave Aranda's 2nd year at the helm. Please Bear with Me once again welcomes Scotty Swingler to help recap this incredible season. This episode starts with a recap of the ups and downs of the Sugar Bowl and the impressive amount of records the Bears were able to set. Also, how Baylor was able to win despite only 40 passing yards on the day. Travis and Scotty will also recap the season in its entirety. Both of the guys were surprised at how the season turned out based on the expectations they both set for the year. This rolls right into what expectations each of them has for the program moving forward especially given the news surrounding the inevitable contract extension for Dave Aranda.  This episode wraps up with a very rough outlook on what the roster may look like next year. Not as many guys are leaving as Travis thought and most of the core of the offensive identity will be returning (OL and QB). Both of the guys think there will be a heck of a battle for playing time at WR and DB.  Thanks to everyone who listened to this season 5 of Please Bear with Me and thank you to all of the guests who so graciously took the time to join us. We certainly wouldn't have had this fun of a year without you. Sic 'em JOIN THE BANTER: Follow @PleaseBearW_Me on Twitter and Please Bear With Me on Facebook. The Bears are bowling and Travis is here to get you ready for an exciting matchup with the Ole Miss Rebels. The Rebels have had somewhat of a similar experience as Baylor over the last couple of years. Both teams are in their 2nd year of a new head coach and both teams are coming off of a lackluster year. Ole Miss is coming off of a 5-5 year, and of course the Bears coming off of a 2 win season. Travis begins this episode doing a small recap of Baylor's recent bowl history starting in 2010. This will be Baylor's 10th bowl game since then and their 4th BCS/NY6 bowl appearance. The Bears are 5-4 in those bowl games and 0-3 in BCS/NY6 bowl games. Travis will then recap Baylor's 1957 Sugar Bowl victory over the undefeated #2 Tennessee Volunteers. This will be Baylor's 3rd Sugar Bowl appearance and they are 1-1 in this bowl. Next, Brad Logan of Inside the Rebels on 247Sports and host of the BLEAVinOleMiss podcast joins Please Bear with Me. He talks through the turnaround the Rebel's have experienced in year 2 of Lane Kiffin and why Lane is a good fit at Ole Miss. We discuss the Ole Miss offense led by highly touted QB Matt Corral and the defense who is playing much better than what the numbers will tell you. Finally Travis compares where each team ranks nationally and gives us a game prediction. This is one of the better matchups this bowl season as it will feature one of the best offenses in Ole Miss vs one of the best defenses in Baylor. Something has got to give and we will find out on Saturday! Sic 'em JOIN THE BANTER: Follow @PleaseBearW_Me on Twitter and Please Bear With Me on Facebook.
