So many of us live, work and play by the coast because it’s a pretty special space that offers us so much. But sometimes the things we do have a negative consequences for the environment. When this happens it’s up to all of us to speak up and act for positive change.
But how do you raise awareness for important coastal and environmental issues, how do you make a positive difference on the coast.
In this episode of Making Waves we talked with Patrick Jackson who has been raising awareness for several years about a pollution problem in Howth’s Doldrum Bay.

What kind of crazy future do we have in store? Fusion Power? Maybe. Flying Cars? Hopefully. Mayo win the All-Ireland again? Definitely! For sure, Ireland in the year 2100 will be very different from the country we live in now.
It's fun to speculate about the advances in technology and the changes in the world the future will bring but it remains really difficult to forecast the changes 20 year down the road let alone those more than 80 years hence.
There are, however, some things we can be pretty sure about - thanks to 150 years of global temperature record keeping - the world will be a warmer place.

Why is it important? Because the relationship we're in with the Ocean is seriously dysfunctional and it's leading to environmental ruin.

The Dun Laoghaire baths are an iconic feature on the Dublin coastline. Although they have stood empty for nearly 20 years, the baths hold many fond memories of people who grew up around Dublin.
New plans are in place to revive the area and breathe new life into the baths.
