Description

None of us were put on this planet to be a watered down version of ourselves.

In a world where it can seem that people are anti-human and wanting to become cyborg transhumans, this podcast is here to let you know that it's perfectly ok to be a cool, fun-loving, caring and kind HUMAN!

My desire, through the art of storytelling and story listening, is to share a captivating narrative that traverses everything it means to be human. Not just any human…Ridiculously Human!

Dorthe Hummel is a high-performance coach to athletes and executive level employees. All her research leads to explaining why biology is the true foundation of performance, identity, and wellbeing. Dorthe's own wake-up call was when she suffered a brutal personal burnout. Leaving her bed ridden for 10 months. She clearly explains her health performance framework called the "Coherence model" — a way of understanding how our hardware (genetics and cells), software (body systems and epigenetics), user (personality and psychology), and environment constantly interact. We explore why one-size-fits-all advice fails high achievers, how biology quietly shapes our behaviour and sense of self as we age, and why real breakthroughs often come from removing what doesn't fit rather than stacking more hacks. This was a CRACKER and will truly make you reconsider your own health! I hear a lot of Dad's say they get bored and don't like to play. But, as with many things in life it's the things we avoid, or don't want to do which are exactly the things that we must be doing! Essentially your child just loves being around you, because you are their everything. For your child - a Mom's hug, is equivalent to Dads playing with them. It's an exchange of love, of oxytocin, of the feeling of being secure. Do not underestimate your role as the playmaker. Hannah Scott, is an incredible lady who has been through absolute heartache and mental torture along her journey to becoming a Mother. It took 10 years for her to finally have a baby after numerous miscarriages and failed IVF treatments. Life eventually threw her some rope after she was completely broken and had almost given up all hope of being a Mom. This is an incredible story of her battle to fall pregnant, and also how she now helps couples all over the world who cannot have children, for them to experience parenthood through surrogacy. It changed her life, and she is changing others lives. Meet my guest this week, an amazingly strong woman, Hannah Scott, whom I'm super proud to call my friend. Getting Old Squeezes the Life Out of You A pervasive theme of getting old is losing that spark, that life force, that engaging energy that used to make you shine. The older we get the more our confidence diminishes and our "mojo" from youthful days is squeezed out of us and exacerbated by responsibilities of bills, dependants and everything that comes with aging. But maybe, if we remind ourselves what we miss, we can search for that person and bring them back to life again! ========= Website
Chris Williamson, recently posted a video about his health struggles over the last year or so. Weaknesses are a tough thing for any man to admit. I really commend Chris for sharing his health challenges because it gets people talking and thinking about their own health too. I wanted to share my thoughts, on some of the issues discussed, and also why I think taking care of your physical body is the most important thing you can do. As the saying goes, "You can have a million worries, until your health is in jeopardy, and then you only have one worry" You owe it to yourself and others, to be the healthiest you possibly can. Discussion Topics: What you will discover from listening to this Podcast: Mould toxicity Comparing your insides to other people's outsides Epigenetics - the influence of your environment Stress - the body keeps score Simplify your life Importance of sleep Getting out into nature Removing distractions Collectively being more positive How to begin again Social Media Website
Have you found in recent years, you are distancing yourself from friends who have differing political views? Is it causing you angst or separation in your relationships?   I know it's a tremendous challenge, but this is exactly what we MUST NOT BE DOING. We are not meant to be divided along our differing political beliefs. We should rather be united on values and morals.   In this week's Podcast, I discuss the above challenge, together with also providing commentary on a recent video by Andrew Tate, about digital enslavement.   Have you ever considered the prison technology has created? How every single one of us is trapped in some way?   And collectively, how it's affecting us all negatively? It's also distracting us from other important and valuable things we should be doing with our lives.   SHOW NOTES Background, Context & Reference   Social Media Website   Discussion Links Andrew Tate Video   People Mentioned Justin Welsh Andrew Tate
If you've listened to the Podcast, you've heard me banging on about communication and why it's the most important thing we need to get right in the world. I think that most issues stem from bad communication. I think that most issues can be resolved with good communication. The problem being, that the large majority of people don't know how to communicate well. You don't have to go far to even test this hypothesis of mine. Think of the relationships in your own life, parents, partners, friends, kids - there is somebody that you always moan about because of the way they communicate, or perhaps their lack of communication. Watch conversational news programs and you have guests talking over each other. Listen to politicians speak and they never answer a question directly. What I admired about Charlie Kirk, was his willingness to debate, to be verbally attacked, to speak to dissenting voices, to reach across the aisle and political spectrum to better understand each other. He also had an air of confidence about him because he knew what values and morals he stood for. This week's monologue Podcast will be a regular fortnightly occurrence going forward. Tax is one of those subjects that still holds a bit of taboo when it comes to discussions with your buddies. Liz McConaghy, is a special lady that has lived a unique life very unfamiliar to most. She joined the Royal Air Force on her 19th birthday and ended up as the longest serving female crewman on the RAF Chinook Fleet.  At 21, she was the youngest aircrew to deploy to Iraq and was the only female crewman on the Chinook wing for 4 years. The toll of 2 deployments to Iraq and 10 deployments to Afghanistan, a messy divorce, and the isolation of Covid, came to a head in 2020 with Liz attempting to end her life. Hannah Ward, is a special lady trying to tackle the American literacy crisis, with only 60% of American's being able to read. She is a homeschooling mother and an English teacher who has taught students from preschool to university.  She says that parents who read, should teach kids phonics and read out aloud together. As a child, she loved adapting books like Charlotte's Web into accessible plays with American Sign Language, which sparked the bookworm in her and love for storytelling. Justin Breen is a Life Path 11 when it comes to Numerology. Those with a Life Path 11 can become incredibly spiritual. In order to fulfil their Master Number potential, they must not turn their backs on their special abilities or they will face inner turmoil. Why do I mention this? Before I started recording this Podcast I was expecting to have a conversation about high performing entrepreneurs and tapping into how they operate. Most interviews Justin has done before he spoke about his entrepreneurial success and how he works with and helps the top 1%. Although, there was an outlier conversation he had in December 2024 where I noticed a shift in him… The journey of a Life Path 11, is basically a life of two halves. Almost, two different people. The changes they experience are often a battle for them to cope with. Now you might be thinking, "Gareth, this is a little esoteric and airy fairy!" and to be honest with you….that is a FAIR CALL. However, before this conversation none of this Numerology theory/understanding was something I had heard of. But, Justin is living proof of it being quite accurate. Needless to say, this chat went on a path I did not expect, and I am SO GLAD it did! Very interesting conversation which might help you better understand yourself! Shaun Fuchs is far from a small thinker. Which is why he has taken on the mammoth task of disrupting the education industry. In 2021, he recognised the time was ripe for our children to break away from the norms of the current education system. It wasn't just an off-the-cuff decision, it's something he has been manifesting since he became a sports and history teacher (all those years ago) Shaun is someone I admire because he has always challenged the status quo, as well as pushed the boundaries in everything he's done.  This Podcast is special because it's me exploring a new style of Podcast, in-person and walking around exploring Shaun's own school, Centennial Schools, in Johannesburg.  As a mentor of mine and best friend, it felt like the perfect opportunity to venture into something new. This new style is best watched on YouTube (please do subscribe if you haven't already) and I have more of these Podcast formats coming in the future.
