How to Be Happy After Infidelity (Without Denial, Bypassing, or Pretending): 7 Real Steps Can you really be happy after infidelity? Not through denial. Not through toxic positivity. Not through spiritual bypassing or pretending everything is fine. In this deeply honest episode, I answer the question I’ve been asked more than any other: “Are you really that happy?” Eight years after betrayal, I share the 7 pillars that helped me move from devastation to grounded, embodied happiness — without minimizing the pain, excusing the betrayal, or bypassing the trauma. We talk about   Why happiness after infidelity is a conscious choice The real psychological roots of cheating (and why it wasn’t about you) How betrayal trauma impacts your nervous system Why understanding the “why” creates emotional safety Healing invisible wounds like perfectionism, self-abandonment, and martyrdom How to stop performing and start being Why you cannot break the habit of being yourself by yourself If you’re navigating betrayal, questioning your future, or wondering whether true happiness is possible after infidelity — this episode will show you what it actually takes. Not perfection. Not pretending. But rising. Top 3 Takeaways Happiness after betrayal begins when you stop identifying as the victim and choose to become the creator of your life. Understanding the real psychological root of infidelity (and why it wasn’t about you) creates nervous system safety. You cannot think your way into happiness — you must regulate your nervous system, stop performing, and get real support. The 7 Pillars of Real Happiness After Betrayal Choose to rise instead of identifying as the victim. Understand the true psychological root of infidelity. Heal your invisible wounds (perfectionism, self-abandonment, martyrdom). Stop saying you “wasted” your life. Reclaim what’s left. Regulate your nervous system. Stop performing and start being. Get real support — you can’t break the habit of being yourself by yourself. Favorite Quote “You were victimized. But staying a victim is a choice.” LOVE THE SHOW? Conscious Ripples: Intuition, Energy, and Living from the Wisdom Within In this heart-centered episode of Friends With The World, host Michelle Villegas is joined by intuitive guide, Reiki master, author, and speaker Shelly Wilson for a rich and expansive conversation about conscious living, intuition, and trusting the wisdom within. Shelly shares her personal journey into intuitive and spiritual work, weaving together childhood experiences, spiritual exploration, and the path that led her to become a professional intuitive and Reiki master. Together, Michelle and Shelly explore the power of conscious conversation, and how awareness allows us to respond to life with greater softness, intention, and compassion rather than reacting from habit or fear. The conversation moves into the art of personal growth and self-empowerment, highlighting Shelly’s four books—28 Days to a New You, Connect to the You Within, Journey Into Consciousness, and Embracing the Magic Within.  Shelly offers practical insights on intentional breathing, meditation, managing energy, and creating healthy boundaries in a highly stimulated, technology-driven world. A central theme of the episode is learning to trust your inner guidance. Shelly emphasizes the importance of developing personal intuition rather than outsourcing wisdom to external authorities, reminding listeners that doubt often disconnects us from our own inner knowing. Michelle reflects on how we are all in a continual state of practice, gently learning how to meet life with more presence and grace. The episode also touches on healing, perspective, and inclusion. Shelly shares her work with Unity churches and Helping Parents Heal, honoring the many paths people take through grief, loss, and transformation. Together, they explore how contrast and differing perspectives shape our understanding of life and deepen compassion. Listeners are invited to consider the subtle but powerful ripples created by intentional kindness, heart-centered living, and conscious creation. The conversation concludes with an encouragement to honor your energy, trust divine timing, and embrace your unique light as a gift to yourself—and to the world. Shelly Wilson is an author, intuitive medium, Reiki Master and inspirational speaker who is passionate about helping people wake up to their greatness. She supports others as they navigate their own journey into consciousness to experience aliveness. She is the author of several books, including Embracing the Magic Within, and the creator of empowerment oracle cards.   Shelly can be reached at: https://shellyrwilson.com/ Learn more about Michelle here  https://dreamvisions7radio.com/friends-with-the-world/ Website: friendswiththeworld.com
So You Can Help: What to Do When Someone Is Struggling On this episode of the Make Mental Health Matter Show host Kelli Melissa Reinhardt talks about how much people are struggling and why the pages on the Make Mental Health Matter website for non-crisis, crisis, after an attempt and after a suicide are so valuable. Little bit about Kelli’s story from her: I lost my middle sister, who died by suicide on February 20, 2017. I know this time of the year has a high rate of deaths, so I want to give you information to feel confident that you can help someone that might be struggling. I didn’t know how to help my sister before she passed and I didn’t know how to help myself after she died. Through lots of education, lots of certifications and doing many, many workshops with some of the top professionals in the field I have learned so much about how the brain works, and how to help others. So that is what I give back to the community and hope that this information helps you too.  Short bio: Warrior for Mental Health CEO/Founder of Make Mental Health Matter nonprofit Host of Make Mental Health Matter TV Show TEDx Speaker Mom of 3 incredible kids Tattoo Connoisseur  Thrill Seeking Adventurer ICF ACC Certified NLP Coach Author Kelli helps make the hard conversations easy about mental health, substance abuse and suicide.    Kelli’s links: www.mmhm.org/show Facebook.com/kellimelissareinhardt Instagram.com/kellimelissareinhardt linkedin.com/in/kellimelissareinhardt tiktok.com/@warriorformentalhealth Want to find out when the next incredible episode of Make Mental Health Matter show is dropping? Episode 5: PMS, Hormones & the Emotional Realities of Womanhood  In this episode of Paperclips & Periods, hosts Dr. Emily K. Cabrera, EdD, MSN, CAGS, PMHNP‑BC, and Katharine “Katie” Krych, MSN, RN, Graduate Certificate in Nursing Education, PEL‑CSN, open up an honest, unfiltered conversation about one of the most universal yet least openly discussed aspects of women’s lives: hormones—from first periods to perimenopause, and every emotional, physical, and psychological shift in between. Together, they explore how hormonal changes shape women’s daily experiences, communication, relationships, and mental health across the lifespan. The discussion moves naturally from early puberty and helping young girls understand their bodies, to the complexities of PMS and unpredictable mood shifts, to the emotional impact of fertility struggles, pregnancy loss, and postpartum changes. With vulnerability and humor, they share their personal stories as mothers, clinicians, partners, and women navigating the evolution of their own cycles. Drawing from their backgrounds in psychiatric mental health, nursing, and education, Emily and Katie unpack the emotional realities behind menstruation and reproductive transitions—how cycles sync, how hormones influence sensitivity and emotional regulation, how cultural messaging shapes young girls’ understanding of their bodies, and how women often carry the invisible weight of silence when navigating infertility, loss, or perimenopause. They also highlight the layered challenges nurses and caregivers face when balancing their clinical knowledge with their lived emotional experiences. This episode explores the private struggles that often accompany womanhood, including the monthly disappointment of a period when trying to conceive, the loneliness of maintaining secrecy after pregnancy loss, the fear and anxiety during high‑risk pregnancies, and the unexpected emotional reactivity that can surface during perimenopause. The hosts examine how partners cope differently, how miscommunication can deepen isolation, and why many women feel unsupported during some of the most physically and emotionally demanding moments of their lives. Grounded in lived experience, emotional honesty, and clinical insight, this episode reframes hormonal health as far more than a physical process—it is a deeply human journey that deserves openness, compassion, and community. Emily and Katie emphasize the need for generational change, encouraging listeners to speak truthfully about their experiences and to teach their children healthier ways to understand their bodies, emotions, and boundaries. As always, the hosts offer grounding takeaways, including the importance of support networks, the value of speaking openly with trusted others, and the need for emotional follow‑up during fertility challenges and pregnancy loss—areas where the healthcare system often falls short. The episode closes with a calming moment of box breathing to help listeners regulate their nervous systems and reconnect to their bodies with gentleness. Reflective, validating, and deeply real, this episode invites women to honor the full emotional landscape of their hormonal lives—and reminds every listener: you do not have to navigate these experiences in silence. Paperclips & Periods airs on the Dreamvisions 7 Radio Network, a Boston‑based syndicated internet radio station reaching listeners across 135–200+ countries through platforms including iHeartRadio, TuneIn, Stitcher, Spotify, and others. The podcast aligns with the mission of Dual Minds Integrative Psychiatry, supporting conversations that promote emotional well‑being, personal growth, and whole‑person care. Procrastination Is Protecting Something   This episode is for anyone who has ever called themselves lazy while quietly carrying too much. In Episode 8, Verta and Naa reframe procrastination not as a character flaw, but as emotional data. Sometimes we delay because we don’t care. Sometimes we delay because we care too much. And sometimes what looks like avoidance is exhaustion, misalignment, fear of being seen, or perfectionism dressed up as productivity. They unpack the shame spiral — the “shoulds,” the urgency culture, the hustle trauma — and explore how delay can function as protection: from visibility, rejection, burnout, or making the wrong decision. But they also name the turning point — when protection becomes pattern, and pattern becomes self-betrayal. Instead of productivity hacks, they offer better questions: Is this delay protecting my alignment — or my fear? If I don’t do this, what will it cost me? Because avoidance can feel like safety in the moment. But over time, it becomes self-betrayal. From unfinished conversations sitting heavy in the body to ideas that feel too close to the heart to release, this episode moves beyond productivity and into deeper self-exploration — inviting intentional choices that shape our relationships, creativity, and healing. Clean Made Simple: Natural Toxin-Free Living with guest Beth Newberry, Advocate and Platinum Ambassador, Pure Haven Some of the most heavily-marketed and highly-recognized name brand consumer products today are formulated with toxic chemical ingredients. When these pollutants find their way into the air and water around us, they harm healthy ecosystems? How can we make non-toxic consumer product choices that are more earth-friendly? My guest, Beth Newberry, will help answer these questions and give practical tips for reading ingredient labels. Newberry is a Platinum Ambassador for Pure Haven. She started her foray into non-toxic living 16 years ago when her middle son, Liam was diagnosed with Tourette Syndrome. She began reading labels on her products and researching the ingredients and realized that many conventional products contain neurotoxins. This drove her passion to educate others on the same topic, and she began supporting more families with switching out to non-toxic alternatives. In addition to her work at Pure Haven, Newberry also chairs the Groundwater Protection Committee in her town of North Smithfield, Rhode Island. Consumers are making healthier choices with regards to food. "A Pure Heart and an Open Mind" - A 'The Way of the Mystic Weekend Online Revival' Movie Workshop with David Hoffmeister In this deep and humorous 'The Way of the Mystic' session from February 14, 2026, David Hoffmeister explores the ego's intricate web of "special relationships" through a comedic lens. Using the metaphor of a high school transformation and the awkward quest for romantic validation, the discussion dismantles the hierarchy of love that the world teaches. Key Themes of the Session: The Illusion of Specialness: David examines how the ego uses categories like "best friend," "partner," and the dreaded "friend zone" to maintain a sense of separation and lack. Humor as a Healing Tool: The session highlights the necessity of laughter in undoing the ego's seriousness, reminding us that we simply "forgot to laugh" at the tiny, mad idea of being separate from God. From Scarcity to Abundance: By looking at our desperate attempts to find love in form, we begin to recognize our inherent worthiness and the consistent, unconditional love of the Christ within. "God did not create bodies, and the problem of judgment is the belief that bodies are real. On Valentine's Day, we celebrate the release from these concepts into the pure light of Agapé love." These gatherings take place every weekend in February and March 2026 and include teachings, films, music, panel discussions, and live Q&A sessions with David Hoffmeister. The “Perfect” Couple and Infidelity: Why High-Achieving Relationships Break (And What to Do Next) You did everything right. You were the smart couple. The committed couple. The high-achieving, “we’ve got this” couple. Date nights. Careers. Kids. Goals. You worked hard. You showed up. You performed well. So how did infidelity happen to you? If you’ve ever thought, “We were the perfect couple. This doesn’t make sense,” this episode will open your eyes in the most grounded, compassionate way. In this powerful conversation, I sit down with Rachel Dornianu of Sage Counseling & Wellness to unpack the hidden dynamics behind the “perfect couple” myth — and why high-achieving, Type A, perfectionistic relationships are often more vulnerable than they appear. We explore how perfectionism, people-pleasing, high sensitivity, emotional avoidance, and the Gottman “Four Horsemen” quietly erode intimacy over time — even in relationships that look beautiful on the outside. If you’re navigating infidelity, feeling blindsided, or wondering how something could fall apart when you both “did everything right,” this episode will help you understand what really happened — and what healing actually requires. Top 3 Takeaways Perfection Isn’t the Same as Connection High achievement, polished date nights, and shared goals can mask roommate syndrome, emotional loneliness, and avoidance. When couples stop pausing, attuning, and truly connecting, resentment and unmet needs quietly build beneath the surface. Performance is not intimacy. Infidelity Is Often a Maladaptive Coping Mechanism While betrayal is devastating, it’s frequently rooted in avoidance, trauma, shame, unmet emotional needs, and poor coping skills — not pure moral corruption. Understanding the why doesn’t excuse the behavior, but it creates clarity. And clarity is the first step toward healing. Healing Requires Addressing What Was Already There Perfectionism. People-pleasing. High sensitivity. Fawning. Walking on eggshells. Avoidance. Emotional flooding. Infidelity doesn’t create these patterns — it exposes them. Whether you choose to stay or separate, the real work is learning how to regulate your nervous system, communicate honestly, and stop performing so you can start being. Favorite Quote “Perfection isn’t intimacy. Performance isn’t connection. And infidelity doesn’t create the cracks — it exposes the ones that were already there.” Loving this show? Ready to go deeper? If this episode hit close to home and you’re thinking, “This is exactly what happened in my relationship,” you don’t have to figure this out alone. Gaea Star Crystal #658 is an hour of dynamic, improvised visionary acoustic music played by The Gaea Star Band with Mariam Massaro on vocals, Native flute, double flute, kalimba, ukulele, mandolin, acoustic guitar and Tibetan bowls, Bob Sherwood on piano and Craig Harris on Native drum and congas. Recorded live at Singing Brook Studio in Worthington, Massachusetts on a cold, mid-winter afternoon in mid-February of 2026, today’s show begins with “Liberation”, a peaceful, prayerful raga that begins with singing bowls and features kalimba, piano and Native drum supporting Mariam’s message of peace and soaring, echoing Native flute fanfares bring in “Oh, Let’s Revel In Our Own Happiness”, a restless, complexly beautiful song with a fine flute-and-voice conversation over galloping Native drum and evocative, modern minor piano figurations. “Embracing The Grace” is an expansive ballad that features a fine vocal and overtone-producing double flute from Mariam with a beautifully emotional coda and “Fire Horse New Year” is a kinetic, energized minor with a powerful lyric from Mariam about new beginnings over skipping, racing piano, chiming ukulele and fundamental Native drum that resolves into a powerful, mysterious coda. “Isis”, a stately song from Mariam’s “Gaea Star Goddesses” LP is rendered with a reverent, classical approach and “Reborn” from the “Gaea Star Crystal” LP is a racing, breathless minor rocker with fine vocals and a powerful instrumental hook. “Burning Ember” from Mariam’s “Smooth Sailin’ Love Songs” album features another powerful vocal from Mariam and we conclude this week’s show with a mandolin-driven re-imagining of “All Life Unfolds” a powerful, fundamental raga with a British Isles feel.   Learn more about Mariam here: http://www.mariammassaro.com

Leigh Ann Phillips is an award-winning singer songwriter and sound healing educator. She is on a mission to merge sound and music to assist people in leading more fulfilling lives in healthier bodies. Her work is taking her all over the world and back again. Leigh Ann has developed a method of brainwave entrainment through the use of her voice and the quartz crystal singing bowls. It is a form of sound healing based on research on the brain as well as the musical system called the Circle of Fifths. The purpose of the work is to help people release emotions from the body, as well as raise the level of health and well being physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. She has developed a method of shifting and slowing the brain states, allowing people to not just relax but release emotional blocks that are allowing dis-ease in the body. Her method incorporates the use of the quartz crystal singing bowls, Tibetan singing bowls, tingshaws, harp, piano, herbal medicine as well as her voice. Using mantras in languages such as Sanskrit, Enochian and Aramaic, Leigh Ann incorporates ancient mantras and prayers to enhance the power of the sound. This method actually places the bowls on the person, so the person is receiving not just music and sound, but also vibration. Her passion is to assist people in building an awareness of consciousness to the mind, body and spirit. Some people would call this allowing sound and music to be a bridge to the soul. Leigh Ann is now back in Crestone, Colorado! She has been bringing sound healing and the music of the quartz crystal singing bowls into the mainstream. She has given demonstrations and sound healing sessions most recently in Taiwan, the Hawaiian islands, at the Gem Exhibit at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C, as well as at a Playboy event in the Los Angeles area. She has also made television and radio appearances on various health, and lifestyle programs in Hawaii, New York, Massachusetts, Colorado, New Mexico, as well as the Orient. The sound and the music have merged, and Leigh Ann’s passion for life has sounded into a path where music can bring not just beauty, but health, peace and the evolution of the soul. Leigh Ann’s latest recorded album release, Mik’ael (2013), is a musical tapestry of mantras, sung in the Enochian language, accompanied by quartz crystal singing bowls and world instruments. Mik’ael is a musical collaboration with writer and producer, Thomas Barquee, recorded at Zenden Studios in California. Ideal for yoga and meditation, Mik’ael is a healing offering to the Archangel Michael, and all that is peaceful in nature and ourselves. Her next recording project will be spoken word, co-created again with Thomas Barquee. She is also the Executive Director of The Shimmering Sounds Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to bringing sound healing as a complimentary therapy to the masses. The foundation has given hundreds of free sessions to people that could not normally afford holistic health sessions. The foundation incorporates the use of a crystal healing bed as well, a complementary treatment to the sound using color, vibration and light. Currently she has developed her own line of quartz crystal singing bowls, using unusual gemstones to infuse the bowls, as well as etching ancient mandalas that amplify the intention of this sacred art through the power of the sound. https://www.leighannphillips.com/ Call In and Chat with Deborah during Live Show: 833-220-1200 or 319-527-2638 Learn more about Deborah here:  www.lovebyintuition.com

Episode 4: High‑Achieving Women Who Are Silently Struggling In this episode of Paperclips & Periods, hosts Dr. Emily K. Cabrera, EdD, MSN, CAGS, PMHNP‑BC, and Katharine “Katie” Krych, MSN, RN, Graduate Certificate in Nursing Education, PEL‑CSN, sit down with special guest Dr. Arlicia Miller, founder and Chief Transformation Officer of the Umbrella of Artistic Expression and life transformation coach with Dual Minds Integrative Psychiatry. Together, they dive into a topic so many women live with daily but rarely name out loud: the experience of being a high‑functioning woman who is quietly, persistently struggling beneath the surface. Drawing from Dr. Miller’s transformational coaching work, Dr. Cabrera’s psychiatric mental health expertise, and Katie’s background in nursing and education, the conversation unpacks the hidden challenges that accompany competence, ambition, caregiving roles, and emotional labor. They explore why high‑functioning women often feel obligated to “push through,” how early conditioning reinforces silence, and why vulnerability can feel risky—even among friends, colleagues, and partners. From motherhood and marriage, to career advancement, to the weight of societal expectations, this episode explores how women learn to hold everything together externally while internally battling exhaustion, depletion, and self‑doubt. The hosts also examine how gender norms, family roles, trauma histories, and cultural narratives shape women’s measurements of worthiness and success. With compassion and honesty, they discuss the “struggle bus,” the fear of judgment, the stigma around asking for help, and the labels women often carry without realizing how deeply they shape identity. Grounded in lived experience, psychology, and integrative wellness, this episode reframes “high‑functioning” not as a badge of honor, but as a clue—an invitation to pause, rest, and reconnect with one’s authentic self. As always, the hosts offer thoughtful takeaways and practical strategies, including the importance of small resets, the power of journaling, the need for safe relationships, and even a guided moment of box breathing to help listeners regulate their nervous systems in real time. Reflective, relatable, and deeply human, this episode encourages women to release the myth of having it all together and replace it with a more compassionate truth: you don’t have to carry everything alone.
