Join host Eve O’Dea for a special Valentine’s Day episode as she hears from different people on films that first taught them about love and those that broke their hearts, and meditates on the different loves one can embody. This episode is set to Nicholas Britell’s latest score for Barry Jenkins’ If Beale Street Could Talk (2018). An adaptation of the James Baldwin novel by the same name, this gorgeously crafted film is a reflection on love, justice, and community, nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Supporting Actress, and Best Original Score at the 2019 Oscars.
2018 has been volatile for film. Some of us thought it was a great year, others less so. For this episode, we gathered a roundtable of UFSA members, some new and some familiar, to talk about their favourite films of the year, as well as some disappointments, and a few inevitable Oscar related targets. Enjoy!
