The seven last Words of Jesus Christ should cause believers to pause and reset. Jesus in His suffering showed His divinity and humanness. He understands what we go through when suffering!  This lesson is not exhaustive, but a time to reflect on those things that matter most. Jesus exemplifies forgiveness. He offers salvation to those who believe. He lays the foundation for relationships. He understands feelings of abandonment. He experienced distress. He is triumphant. And, in Him, there will be a reunion of the saints.  Join us on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at 3:30 p.m. (PT).  We will discuss the last seven Words of Jesus Christ found in the Gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. To speak to the host call (319) 527-6720. As believers, we are called to put on the complete armor of God. Why is that? Because we are in constant spiritual warfare. And while this spiritual battle is present, we are called to be steadfast and endure hardship as soldiers in the army of God. The battle is already won, and the victory is in Jesus Christ. II Timothy 2:3 (NKJV) says, "You therefore must endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ."  There is no time for distractions. Jesus Christ enlisted us, so let's aim to please Him.  Join us on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at 3:30 p.m. (PT) as we discuss hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. Dr. Michael Ley, our special guest, will share a biblical perspective. Dr. Ley is a minister, teacher, and preacher of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.Call in to speak with the host (319) 527-6720. The Old vs. The New

The Old vs. The New

2024-01-0245:00

As believers, our goal is Christlikeness. The ministry of the Holy Spirit produces godliness in believers. The sanctification process conforms us to the image of Christ. In Christ Jesus, our transformation demonstrates spiritual maturity. Hence, the reasons why we live to glorify God. Our focus is eternal, not having an appetite for the desires of this world.  Romans 12:2 (NKJV) says, "And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God."  Join us Tuesday, January 2, at 3:30 PM (PT) as we further discuss sanctification and its meaning with our featured guest, Dr. Michael Ley, a minister, teacher, and preacher of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Call in to speak with the host (319) 527-6720. The year 2023 is coming to an end. Now is the perfect time to reflect, assess our spiritual growth, and pray for the coming of the new year. I hope that whatever has happened, our relationship with God and others is deepening and full of gratitude and joy.   Romans 8:28 (NKJV) says, "And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose." God Has the Final Say

God Has the Final Say

2023-11-2815:00

God the Father has written our book of life. His purpose and plan for us unfold each day. Every chapter in our life's earthly journey is penned by Him. We can stand on God's Word and plug into the power or shrink because of a lack of knowledge or disbelief. We must speak the Word of God to change the condition or circumstances in our hearts, mind, and body.   Isaiah 55:11 (NIV) says, "So is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it."  God's Word will do what it says it will do! Join us Tuesday, November 28, at 3:30 PM (PT) as we discuss the application of the Word of God. Call in to speak with the host (319) 527-6720. In our relationship with Jesus Christ, we are called to a life of service. Life is challenging just trying to manage the ups and downs, uncertainty, and the unknown. The real test is not being discouraged, and remaining on the course. God provides what we need and gives us direction. He equips us to be overcomers and wants us to celebrate our victories. I Kings 19:9 (NASB) says, "Then he came there to a cave and spent the night there; and behold, the word of the Lord came to him, and He said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?” What would your response be if asked the same question during difficulty? Join us on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at 3:30 p.m. (PT) as we discuss managing the ups and downs of life and Christian service. Dr. Michael Ley, our special guest, will share a biblical perspective. King David did not get to build the Temple. Solomon, King David's son built and furnished God's Temple according to God’s specifications. The Temple was completed and the Ark of the Covenant was brought and placed in the Holies of Holy of the Temple. Solomon gave a sermon and then offered a prayer of dedication to the LORD God, recorded in II Chronicles 6:14-42.  Today's episode will focus on verse 20 (NKJV) "That Your eyes may be open toward this temple day and night, toward the place where You said You would put Your name, that You may hear the prayer which Your servant makes toward this place."  Join us Thursday, August 10, 2023, at 3:30 PM (PT) as we discuss the meaning of the Temple of God for believers in Christ Jesus. Call in to speak with the host (646) 668-2946.  Hope4Today is an outreach program of Yield to the King Ministry. Miraculously, God the Father delivered humankind from the penalty of sin. His love, grace, and mercy provided to those who believe in the person and work of Jesus Christ, an opportunity to be with Christ forever. We can't earn it, and we don't deserve it. This positional eternal state of being was granted to us by God himself. Romans 6:23 (NKJV) says, "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." While we were sinners, Christ atoned for our sins. We are free from the penalty of sin, its power, and its consequences. Hallelujah, to God be the Glory! Join us Tuesday, July 25, at 3:30 PM (PT), as we further discuss salvation and its meaning with our featured guest, Dr. Michael Ley, a minister, teacher, and preacher of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Call in to speak with the host (646) 668-2946. The Best We Can Be

The Best We Can Be

2023-07-1117:00

In our sinful state, our goodness is tainted with selfish motives and selfish desires. Our goodness does not please God --no one does good, not even one. God's goodness, on the other hand, represents His standard of goodness in all His ways. In Christ Jesus, our Heavenly Father ushers in a newness that is cloaked in Christ's righteousness, and the old self will pass away. Christ renews and transforms our minds. During that process, God will develop our potential to the greatest degree possible.  II Cor. 5:17 (NKJV) says, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new."  When we yield and surrender, the Holy Spirit will produce in us the best version of self we can be.  Join us Tuesday, July 11, at 3:30 PM (PT), as we discuss and remember the blessing of being transformed through the power of God. Call in to speak with the host (646) 668-2946. The Prayer of Jabez

The Prayer of Jabez

2023-06-1320:00

Years ago, I discovered this little book, The Prayer of Jabez: Breaking Through to the Blessed Life, by Dr. Bruce H. Wilkinson. It was the #1 New York Times Bestseller. I was intrigued, so I purchased and read it, with the promise that it would change my life. Well, God did not grant me material blessings but rather a heart for Jesus. That was life-changing and more precious than gold! Jabez's prayer is mentioned in I Chronicles 4:10 (NIV). It says, "Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” And God granted his request. Everything in this prayer speaks to who God is -- the very source of all blessings.  Join us Tuesday, June 13, at 3:30 PM (PT) as we talk about the powerful prayer of Jabez. Call in to speak with the host (646) 668-2946. It’s Tea Time! How often do you sit down and sip tea with a special person in your life? There are many traditions around high tea and afternoon tea time. Etiquette would say to serve a meal with meat during high tea, or pastries, little sandwiches, scones, and cakes during afternoon tea. Fellowship is the key. It's an opportunity to share our love.  John 13:34 says, "I am giving you a new commandment, that you love one another; just as I have loved you, that you also love one another." (NASB). By the end of this episode, you'll have a new idea for how you can approach tea time. Join us Tuesday, May 30, at 3:30 PM (PT), as we consider the acronym T.E.A., for a practical Tea Time! Call in to speak with the host (646) 668-2946.  Hope4Today is an outreach program of Yield to the King Ministry. As believers in Christ, we know He is our solid rock and firm foundation. He is our cornerstone when we completely trust and are committed to Him. Are we standing on a firm foundation that will endure the test of time? In Matthew 7:25 (NIV), Jesus speaks of building our life on a solid rock by saying, "The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock."  He goes on to contrast the wise vs. the foolish man. Join us Tuesday, April 18, at 3:30 PM (PDT), as we glean wisdom on how to journey with Christ as our solid rock. Call in to speak with the host (646) 668-2946. Resurrection Day is a time of rejoicing. On our behalf, Christ our Savior and Lord conquered the wages of sin. Death no longer has its sting.  We are free indeed!   Luke chapter 24, verses 6 and 7, say, "He is not here, but is risen! Remember how He spoke to you when He was still in Galilee, saying, ‘The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.' " (NKJV) Join us Tuesday, April 4, at 3:30 PM (PDT) for a quick prayer of thanks to our Risen Lord as we await Resurrection Day. Call in to speak with the host (646) 668-2946 Hope4Today is an outreach program of Yield to the King Ministry. As believers in Christ, we owe our lives to Him. He died for the sins of the world. In Christ, we are free indeed. This Lenten season reminds us of our need for redemption. Jesus Christ atoned for our sins, reconciled us to God the Father, and clothed us in His righteousness. We are in a restored relationship with God after being separated from Him because of our sins.  II Corinthians 5:21 (NKJV) says, "For He made Him who knew no sin to besin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him."  The redemptive work of Jesus Christ (true God and true Man) has freed us from the penalty of sin. Join us Tuesday, March 21, at 3:30 PM (PDT) for a quick review of our Risen Lord, who paid the price in full of our debt to sin. Hope4Today is an outreach program of Yield to the King Ministry. Ash Wednesday, also known as the Day of Ashes, is February 22, 2023. This day is a holy day of prayer and fasting. Christians confess their sins and profess their devotion to God. Most Christians will attend a church service where a minister, pastor, priest, or other ordained clergies, will place ashes on the forehead of the worshiper in the shape of a cross. The ashes remind us that we are dust and to dust, we shall return. This ceremony means that we belong to Christ. Genesis 3:19 (NIV) says, ”By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground since from it you were taken; for dust you are and to dust, you will return.” Join us Tuesday, February 21, at 3:30 PM, PST, as we look at the significance of Ash Wednesday, the start of the Lenten season leading up to Resurrection day. Our destiny is not to remain here on earth forever. Tomorrow is not promised and nobody knows for sure what today will bring. Idle time is fleeting; but when we pause to reflect it's long-lasting. How can we live in the moment free of the cares and worries of this world? For starters, we can yearn for and seek time to reflect on God's mercies that are new every morning.  Matthew 6:34 (NASB) says, “So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."  Be encouraged, beloved! God wants us to be still and know Him.  Join us on Tuesday, December 27, at 3:30 PM, PST,for featured studio guests Patricia Haynes and Cheryl Johnson, who will share their reflections and how they approach and manage living in the moment. Society suggests that living a fragmented life from family and community is the norm. Today, more than ever, the differences, untruths, fear, and ignorance tear our families, communities, and nation apart. Restoration is needed to achieve healing, harmony, and unity. I Peter 5:10 (NIV) says, "And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm, and steadfast."  Join us on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at 3:30 PM PST, with our special guest Angela M. Davis, founder of Community Connections Seattle Unlimited. God gave Ms. Davis a vision to restore individuals, communities, and groups one circle at a time. She supports families and communities through processes of healing from pain, hurt, and trauma. Angela's life experiences paved the way for her to solely rely on God’s healing power, mercy, and grace. You will hear Ms. Davis's testimony about how at age 12, she survived losing her mother to suicide. Hope4Today is an outreach program of Yield to the King Ministry. Children are a blessing from God, and parenting is a huge responsibility that shouldn't be taken lightly.  True enough, single parenting is met with many challenges. Generally, the family structure breaks down, and children live with the stigma that they are on the short end of the stick. Single parents can be overcomers by surviving financial hardship, emotional upheaval, and spiritual burdens of unworthiness. Trust in the Lord and His promises so you can live with hope on the horizon.  Psalm 127:3 (NASB) says, "Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward."  God desires single parents to align their families with sound biblical teaching and application. With Him, all things are possible.  Join us on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at 3:30 PM PST, with our special guest Patrice Harris, founder of The G.O.O.D.E. Foundation. God gave Ms. Harris a vision for the Foundation, and her passion is to uproot the bondage of brokenness and unworthiness in single-parent families with sustainable results. As a single mother, you’ll hear her personal testimony and the transformation that occurred when she surrendered all to God. Ms. Harris is the author of "When the Lord Speaks, Hannah's prayer." All Saints' Day, also known as All Hallows Day, is November 1. Halloween, a contraction of All Hallows' Eve, is a holiday observed on October 31, the evening before All Saints' Day. The Celts believed the boundary between the worlds of the living and the dead became blurred. On the night of October 31, they celebrated Samhain, when it was believed that the ghosts of the dead returned to earth. I Thessalonians 5:21-22 says, "Test all things; hold fast what is good. Abstain from every form of evil." As believers, we must be careful that we don't mistake evil for good. As followers of Jesus Christ, we must be careful about what we align with -- even in traditional celebrations and fun! Join us Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at 3:30 PM, PDT, as we learn about All Saints' Day, an alternative to Halloween from a biblical perspective. Call in to speak with the host (646) 668-2946.
