Have you ever had a dream, vision or goal that you weren't sure was possible? Did you ever have a burning desire to do something in your life but that nagging voice in your head stopped you? My guest this week is the powerhouse that is Tammy Darcy, founder of Shona.ie a Not for Profit organisation that helps women & young girls learn to love themselves and shine in their teenage years and beyond. Behind the scenes Shona.ie holds a very special meaning as it's named after Tammy sister Shona who was diagnosed with a life changing brain injury in her teens.
One of the best tools you have at your disposal everyday is your ability to appreciate and be grateful for the simple pleasures in your life. A roof over your head, food on your plate, people who love you in your life. Even in the darkest of times I believe it is possible to find something to be grateful for. My guest this week tragically lost his brother a number of years ago and credits mindfulness and appreciating the little things with getting him through such a bleak time. He explains  how and the concept of 100 Happy moments & how it could help you.
Let's face it we're all living through one of the most stressful periods in modern day history. We're experiencing stress on another level, a level which if not managed could potentially do harm to our current, overall and future wellbeing. My guest this week is Clinical Psychologist Dr. Clare Kambamettu who gives her recommendations and advice on managing your stress levels right now and explains how to break the habit of stress.  Episode Resource https://palousemindfulness.com
Just how many challenges can you overcome in your life? How much resilience do you need? As human beings we will all face challenges in our lives to a varying degree which is why building our resilience and realising how strong we are will stand to us in the long run. Sharon Fitzmaurice has overcome immense challenges in her life from experiencing childhood sexual abuse to losing her precious baby daughter Annie. At one point she contemplated taking her own life however Sharon discovered & developed the tools she needed to help herself and others.
Delighted to have none other than Vicky Phelan as my guest on the show this week. Mother, Author, Women's Health Advocate and Motivational Speaker, Vicky has captured the hearts of the nation with her determination to see real change for women's health in Ireland. In this episode we spoke about inner strength, new perspectives on life and what really happens when life knocks you down.
The guest I have lined up for you today is without doubt going to leave you feeling inspired, motivated and maybe looking at your own life that little bit differently. John Wall is a husband, father, campaigner and is living with terminal stage 4 prostate cancer. In this episode we spoke about how when you’re told there's going to be a time limit  on your life it lifts the 'weight of life' from you and the 'small' stuff doesn't matter so much anymore and why talking through life's difficulties is hugely important.
We are not defined by our circumstance, not unless we give in and let them. Circumstances therefore never determine who we are, but reveal who we are. In this week's episode I speak to the inspirational Katie Murphy who is living with CF ( Cystic Fibrosis) Rather than let her condition thoroughly dictate her life, Katie decided to focus on what she could control in her life and is living proof as to why your circumstances don't define you & why with the right mindset you can achieve anything you set your mind to.
It's not your circumstances that shape you but how you react to you circumstances that matters. I can't think of a more apt statement when it comes to describing my guest on this weeks show. Joanne O Riordan, activist, writer and 1 of only 7 people in the world born with a rare condition called Total Amelia meaning she was born without limbs is 100% a force to be reckoned with. I hope you enjoy and feel inspired as you listen to her story. Tickets for my Overcoming Overthinking Workshop can be found here http://bit.ly/JayannWalshWorkshop
Is this you? Do you constantly worry about what you said, what you did, why someone didn't text back or what other people think? Do you lie in bed at night going over scenarios or fall down the rabbit hole of worrying about things that in the grand scheme of things are not really that important. Trust me you're not on your own! In this episode I share some practical strategies that can help you stop sweating the small stuff.
My guest today is Paddy Cunningham, who some of you may remember from his time on the popular show, The Biggest Loser UK which he took part in in 2011. Paddy is back and on a quest to lose 100lbs and in todays show we talk all about not giving up, how to not let your negative voice win, the mindset you need for achieving any goal and why it's ok to start over. Even if youre not on a weighloss or health journey right now I really do believe you will be inspired by this conversation with whatever goal you have.
The fear of judgement and the fear of failure are two of the most popular reasons that hold people back. Fearing how others will judge them and their decisions and being scared incase you'll fail are often why so many people don't go after the things they want in life.  In this episode I talk about both issues with some real life coaching examples and coaching questions you can ask yourself to tackle these fears head on.
So as we all know January is a time where most people want to make some changes to their lives, be it a new health kick, diet, habit, challenge whatever it is but I'm also well aware that right now with the current situation, it may be pretty difficult to start something new or you may be feeling a bit demotivated.  My guest today is considered the King of Change having transformed his life  over the past number of years and in this episode we discussed changing your perspective, swimming in the shallow lane first  and why your behaviours everyday are so important when it comes to showing up at your best.
In this weeks episode I spoke to Dr. Rachel Goldman, a psychologist from NYC about why its so important to set boundaries in order to protect yourself from overwhelm and burnout, why positive self talk is so important and how to beat the Sunday night blues and make the most of your weekend.
Norah Casey, former TV Dragon, experienced T.V and Radio Broadcaster, Publisher, Author and Successful Entrepreneur. Norah has worn many hats throughout her career and has spoken very publicly about her own story of domestic abuse and the pain of grief following the death of her beloved husband Richard.  In this episode myself and Norah discuss grief, loss, surviving,  rebuilding, having a voice and why saying yes even when you don't feel ready can open the door to incredible opportunities.
Do you beat yourself up, think you're not good enough, criticise how you look, act, dress, worry constantly, play the 'what if' game or regularly find yourself imagining the worst case scenario? Don't worry you're not alone. Many people suffer with some (or all) of the above on a daily/weekly basis. If you find this type of thinking is impacting the quality of your life listen to this weeks episode where myself and Dr Andrea Bonior discuss how and why it's important to detox your thoughts.
Does your mind sometimes, or all the time feel overloaded with everything your need to do or remember? Do you always feel 'on',  struggle with switching off and wish you could find a solution or get some help? Work, kids, friends, family, remembering to take the dinner out of the freezer, sending a card for your aunts birthday, giving the dog his flea tablet and on and on it goes. This is referred to as the 'mental load' and in this weeks episode myself and my guest Allison Keating discuss sharing the load, having the conversation with your partner  and why rest is super important!
