I think the Baptism by the Holy Spirit is what is called being anointed by the Holy Spirit. Let me give you the way I was baptized by the Holy Spirit. One Sunday I was about to leave for the church and suddenly I heard this Voice telling me to remove my shoes and kneel down. When I did that a cascade of tears stared to flow from my eyes. But strangely I didn't feel any emotions. In fact my soul was out of my body and I watched what was happening to me. This divine state remained for about 10 minutes and I wiped my eyes and went to Church. From then on my life changed toward the service of God and reached an incredible height. Glory to God.
It's an impressive sermon about Body, Soul and the Spirit. I would like to share my experience about these. I'm from India and here people are highly religious although they worship thousands of gods. Basically they believe in the Soul that is formed in the Body when we are born. We feed the Body with food for it's growth and we feed knowledge for the growth of the soul. The Soul with its knowledge drives the Body. For example, the Body drives the car when our soul learns how to do it. When you feed the Soul with Higher Knowledge you place yourself in an exalted place. You will be known as a wise man. But in what way a Christian is better than others? When I was musing that question, the Lord guided me to Romans 8:9 that says, ' If anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ'. What is the Spirit of Christ? It is the Holy Spirit! If you don't have the Holy Spirit, you should not be called a Christian at all. What does the Holy Spirit do? The Lord showed me in
Talking in tongues is the voice of the Baby to it's mother. As the mother perfectly understands what it means, the Lord understands what we say in tongues. It is the voice of the lover to his beloved. When they look at each other, they know what it means. It is the rightful voice of the son to his father. It's not a language invented to be manipulative. It is a language of innocence. I love the illustration you did with your grandchild. Jesus said " The wind blows where it chooses, and you hear the sound of it, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit". - John 3/8. Your granddaughter felt the need to talk to you whatever was in her mind and did so with the language God gave to her. It's the same with us when we talk in tongues. She didn't exactly know where her voice would go but we know it went into a microphone and through it reached us. And she has become a witness to God. And I thought these things in a language that
Beautiful way to explain God's it's his grace that helps us to live a Christian life knowing that it's him who pushes us through this earthly life that has pitfalls of all kinds and be a comforter of hope. Thank You Lord.
1 Thessalonians 5/20 says " Do not despise prophecy". Prophecy could be the Lord taking to us. An information for our benefit. We should always respect that voice.
