Heterogeneous2. Sick and living on the edge3. Metabolically inflexible 4. Originates from damaged mitochondria Insulin resistance is one of the most significant contributors to cancer risk. Insulin resistance can lead to metabolic inflexibility. Cancer also migrates to areas of inflammation. Microbiome disruption damages the microbes that protect the body against cancer. Toxicity caused by alcohol, smoking, and pesticides can also increase the risk of cancer. When you combine these risk factors, you significantly increase your risk of developing cancer.Colon cells get their fuel from a compound called butyrate, which is produced when a microbe consumes fiber. Butyrate strengthens the colon's lining, supports its function, and has potent anti-inflammatory properties. Fiber has protective properties against cancer, but if your gut microbiome is compromised, it can make matters worse. The more advanced the cancer you have, the more you’ll need to do prolonged fasting. This stresses the cancer cells and deprives them of fuel. The fasting-mimicking diet is also beneficial. If you haven’t been diagnosed with cancer, periodic prolonged fasting can help with prevention. High doses of vitamin D3, sun exposure, and oxygen are also protective against cancer. A rotating diet is an incredible tool for cancer prevention. Focus on consuming key nutrients, including vitamin D3, zinc, omega-3 fatty acids, polyphenols, turmeric, cruciferous vegetables, herbs, spices, green tea, and fermented vegetables. Do your feet feel like they are on fire? It may not be your nerves. Burning feet is not a nerve problem! Uncover the real cause of tingling, burning feet to finally fix burning feet pain for good!Just so you know, my full line of high-quality supplements is available on Amazon — search Dr. Berg Supplements.👉 Unlock Dr. Berg's Free Daily Routine: https://drbrg.co/45qtO07 Burning feet is known as neuropathy, and is typically classified as a disease of the nerves. But the tingling, burning, and numbness in your feet is not a nerve problem! The real problem behind burning feet is the blood vessels supplying the nerves. Blood vessels supply the nerves with fuel, oxygen, and nutrients, and without this, they become very irritated. The root cause of the problem is your blood sugar. Years of high blood glucose destroy your circulation. It may seem counterintuitive that there would be a shortage of fuel at the nerve level despite an excess in the blood, but this is the basis of insulin resistance. For relief of burning feet, it’s vital to address insulin resistance rather than just managing the symptoms. There are many mitochondria in the nervous system. They act as the engines that take in fuel and power the nerves. If you have access to the mitochondria, you get 32 units of energy currency per glucose molecule. As a survival mechanism, your body utilizes glycolysis, which generates significantly less energy. This process also produces toxic byproducts, which can irritate your nerves.Vitamin B1 can help you switch from glycolysis back to generating energy from the mitochondria. This is because high blood glucose levels deplete vitamin B1 in your tissues. Vitamin B1 is normally water-soluble, which won’t effectively penetrate the nerve. Benfotiamine is a fat-soluble form of vitamin B1 that can help fix burning feet, eliminate toxic byproducts of glycolysis, and reduce other complications associated with diabetes. It also helps support the nerves in the eyes, kidneys, arteries, and brain. Burning feet and other symptoms of chronic health conditions take 20 to 30 years to develop. Modern medicine does not address the root cause of these issues and does not focus on lifestyle changes, diet, or nutrition. To fix burning feet pain at the root, try the following:1. Benfotiamine2. Reduce sugar consumption, keep carbs below 30 grams per day3. Avoid snacking4. Increase foods high in magnesium and potassium5. Waking up to pee, even just once, can wreck your sleep and wreak havoc on your health. Some of the consequences of poor sleep are as follows:• Slower metabolism• Increased cortisol• Increased risk of type 2 diabetes • Insulin resistance • Increased risk of high blood pressure • Decreased ability to detoxify the brain • Poor mood, anxiety, and depression• Decreased cognitive function, focus, and memory • Lower testosterone • Feeling tired all dayApproximately 1 in 5 men and 1 in 4 women in the U.S. get up at least once or twice to urinate every night, and aging is not the problem! Antidiuretic hormone (ADH) plays a crucial role in preventing excessive urination. A problem with this hormone affects water balance, causing you to produce more urine, especially at night. Too much salt and not enough potassium, blood sugar issues, and insulin resistance all affect ADH and can cause you to produce more urine to eliminate excess salt and sugar.Other factors that affect ADH include:• Caffeine• Sugar/starch• Excess protein• AlcoholVitamin B1 and magnesium are key nutrients involved with bladder control. If you’re dealing with nighttime urination and only a small volume of urine comes out, suspect a deficiency in one of these nutrients. To sleep better and reduce frequent urination at night, try the following tips: • Avoid alcohol• No fluids 3 hours before bed• Pre-load fluids in the earlier part of the day• Avoid snacks and salty foods before bed• Increase potassium intake early in the day• Reduce caffeine intake • No snacking/reduce carbs and sugar• Avoid large amounts of protein at night • Increase vitamin B1 and magnesiumDr. Eric Berg DC Bio:Dr. Berg, age 60, is a chiropractor who specializes in Healthy Ketosis & Intermittent Fasting. Just two Brazil nuts daily deliver 1000% of the selenium you need. Learn about the benefits of selenium for your immune system, fertility, and overall health, and why Brazil nuts are the best source of this important trace mineral.👉 Grab Dr. Berg's Free Daily Routine: https://drbrg.co/45qtO07 0:00 Introduction: How many Brazil nuts per day? 0:45 Brazil nuts and selenium 0:56 The benefits of selenium1:52 Brazil nuts' immune system benefits5:31 Brazil nuts and antioxidants6:38 More Brazil nuts benefits 7:19 Why are Brazil nuts so high in selenium? 9:20 Selenium toxicity Eating two Brazil nuts daily is one of the cheapest ways to create a massive impact on your health. Many of the foods we eat deplete selenium, but just two Brazil nuts per day provide 1000% of the RDA. That’s around 135 to 180 mcg of selenium. Selenium is a trace mineral that works in conjunction with enzymes to support hair growth. It increases the protein in hair called keratin. However, that’s not all. Selenium also offers significant immune system benefits! Selenium is vital for fertility and protects the cells in the testicles that produce testosterone and sperm. It also supports the health of the ovaries. Selenium supports the T-helper cell, which is vital for the function of your immune system. Without sufficient selenium, you become highly vulnerable to infections, pathogens, cancer, and other immune system issues. Selenium also supports the TH1/TH2 ratio, helps control immune reactions, and helps to prevent autoimmune diseases. A deficiency in both vitamin D and selenium can have serious consequences for your immune system.Selenium helps build up glutathione, the body's master antioxidant. This potent antioxidant protects the liver and membranes in the body. The selenium in Brazil nuts has even more benefits and supports the following:• Skin health• Normal insulin production• Liver health• Mitochondrial health and function • Anxiety preventionBrazil nut trees grow in the Amazon and are around 500 to 1000 years old. They have extremely deep roots, which pull in nutrients and additional trace minerals that you can’t get at the superficial level. Brazil nuts are also an excellent source of copper, magnesium, and manganese. Selenium toxicity is rare, but it could occur if you consume 10 to 20 Brazil nuts every day for several months. Learn from my mistakes to avoid years of misery! 1. 100 vitamins a dayI thought that the solution to chronic fatigue syndrome, severe insomnia, arthritis, and other chronic illnesses was to just take more supplements. Vitamins and supplements will only be effective if you also maintain a healthy diet.2. Colon detox A colon detox also flushes out good bacteria and electrolytes, and often involves juice. You shouldn’t do any cleanse or fasting program that involves juice, as the body can’t get into ketosis because of the sugar. Herbal detoxes release toxicity, which creates an immune reaction, leaving you sick for weeks. Get on the right eating plan, focusing on animal protein, vegetables, and probiotics for better gut health. 3. I’ll eat healthy when I graduate In college, I was living on carbs, drinking strong coffee, and feeling tired all the time. Much of this fatigue was just due to blood sugar fluctuations. I eventually discovered the healthy version of the ketogenic diet, which turned things around. 4. Right shoulder painRight shoulder pain is almost always caused by referred pain from the liver, gallbladder, and bile ducts. 5. Disregarding intermittent fasting Snacking and frequent eating keep your insulin high. Our bodies were not designed to graze! Intermittent fasting is one of the top health tips that changed my life! I immediately lost weight and inflammation. 6. Kale shakesKale shakes are okay, but excess fiber isn’t always the best option for gut health. 7. Magnesium deficiencyMagnesium can help prevent kidney stones and muscle spasms, and also supports a good night's sleep. The US dietary guidelines have shaped what Americans eat for decades, and the results haven’t been good. Discover the new inverted food pyramid and the updated diet recommendations that could change everything. 👉 Download Dr. Berg’s Daily Health Routine for FREE: https://drbrg.co/45qtO07 The new dietary guidelines for Americans will improve the food in schools, hospitals, nursing homes, the military, and more. These updated guidelines will require a complete overhaul of the supply chains! For over 40 years, the foundation of our food pyramid was whole grains. It was recommended that we consume 6 to 11 servings of grains every single day. This change isn’t based on mere opinion; the data has been accumulating for years. Ultra-processed foods are now being targeted as the primary driver of 90% of chronic disease. For decades, ultra-processed food companies were protected by silence, but not anymore. Let’s take a look at the old recommendations and see how they compare to the updated dietary recommendations:• 6-11 servings of carbohydrates• Low fat• Low cholesterol• Low saturated fats• Focus on calories • 0.8 grams of protein per kg of body weight Updated diet recommendations:• Inverted food pyramid• Reduce ultra-processed foods• Increase animal-based protein• 1.2 to 1.6 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight The protein increase alone can significantly improve your biochemistry, hormones, blood sugar, and more. They are now working on a definition for ultra-processed food. Whoever controls the definition controls the outcome. By focusing on the biological definition of food, that which is eaten to sustain life; promote the growth and repair of tissues; nourishment, anything that doesn’t fit this definition would not be classified as food. There’s one missing piece to the updated dietary recommendations: the root cause of chronic disease. Insulin resistance may be indirectly affected by these changes, but it may not be sufficient for individuals who are already insulin resistant. It’s vital to address the frequency of eating to get to the root of chronic illness.Every time you eat, whether it’s healthy or unhealthy food, you spike insulin. This contributes to insulin resistance. Healthy eating may prevent insulin resistance, but it may not be enough to reverse it. Although seed oils and industrial starches were not specifically mentioned, the new inverted food pyramid is a huge step in the right direction. Coffee does NOT give you energy! Here’s why quitting coffee could give you more energy than ever before, plus how to prepare for coffee withdrawal symptoms and reduce them. 👉 Download Dr. Berg’s Free Daily Health Routine: https://drbrg.co/45qtO07 0:00 Introduction: What happens to your body without coffee?0:08 Does coffee give you energy?1:42 Caffeine withdrawal day-to-day4:29 Side effects of quitting coffee5:57 Natural ways to boost energy6:34 Quitting coffee Coffee does not wake you up! Here’s how it works. Caffeine has a similar chemistry to a compound called adenosine, which is a byproduct of ATP, the body’s energy currency. It can bind to the adenosine receptor and inhibit the signals that regulate sleep. This isn’t really giving you the energy you need! There is often a withdrawal period when you quit coffee. Here’s what to expect: Days 1 and 2 Within 16 hours of quitting coffee, you may experience a headache caused by a decrease in dopamine. Days 3 to 5Irritability peaks, but you’ll likely have fewer coffee cravings as dopamine adapts. You may crave other things, such as sugar or fatty foods. Days 6 and 7At this point, you may notice that you’re sleeping better. Cortisol levels drop.Days 8 to 10 Your mood improves, and you’re no longer experiencing crashes.Days 11 to 14Cognitive function improves. Days 15 to 21 Dopamine levels have returned to nearly normal.Days 22 to 30This is when you’ll notice the full benefits of quitting coffee. Your energy levels should be noticeably improved.Caffeine exists in plants as a natural pesticide that actually paralyzes bugs! It has a hormetic effect in humans, which means it induces a small amount of stress that causes the body to adapt. To increase energy naturally, focus on the following:• Sunlight• Exercise• Electrolytes• Adaptogens You don’t have to quit coffee cold turkey. Try replacing it with green tea, eventually shifting to herbal tea. For an energy boost, try sea salt in water, electrolytes, or magnesium powder. Ashwagandha can help make the process smoother. Lemon balm tea works well too! Dr. Eric Berg DC Bio:Dr. Berg, age 60, is a chiropractor who specializes in Healthy Ketosis & Intermittent Fasting. Vitamin D misinformation is everywhere! Learn why the vitamin D recommended dosage doesn’t align with actual science, how this vitamin D controversy started, and how much vitamin D you really need. 👉 Get Dr. Berg's Daily Routine as a free download: https://drbrg.co/45qtO07 0:00 Introduction: Vitamin D research explained 1:23 Vitamin D data reanalysis1:52 The Institute of Medicine and the vitamin D RDA debate 4:08 Vitamin D benefits 8:22 Vitamin D toxicity 8:55 Vitamin D deficiency explained We’ve been told that 600 IU of vitamin D is enough, but how much do we really need? In 2014, a group of researchers reanalyzed the data used to set the current vitamin D RDA. They found that instead of 600 IU per day, we actually need 8895 IU of vitamin D every day! This recalculation was confirmed by other independent research; yet, to this day, it has been completely ignored. “Forbidden Facts” by Gavin de Becker exposes some of the health controversies surrounding the Institute of Medicine. They’re viewed as the top scientific authority that is supposed to protect us, but who are they really trying to protect? Vitamin D isn’t just for your bones. It’s vital for your immune system, muscles, brain, mood, cognitive function, metabolic function, and more. Your risk of cancer even increases when you’re low.Why haven’t they corrected this vitamin D mistake? Not only have they not corrected it, but they’ve also become insistent on maintaining the recommended vitamin D dosage as is. We need significantly more than 600 IU of vitamin D!Vitamin D blood levels do not reflect the vitamin D in your cells. The standard of 20 ng/mL is not enough. Although this number is often debated, you need around 50 to 80 ng/mL to potentially ensure you have enough vitamin D in your cells. Vitamin D toxicity is extremely rare, and the risks can be mitigated by magnesium, vitamin K2, and increased water intake. We’ve created an indoor, sugar-filled society that fears the sun! So it’s no surprise that vitamin D levels are suffering. What can you do? Start getting more sun! On the days you don’t, or in the winter months, take a vitamin D3 supplement with magnesium and vitamin K2. The puppy pose on the wall stretches the front of the body and is also an excellent shoulder stretch, and the half down dog removes tension from the upper back and shoulders. Next, I’ll show you an extension exercise that stretches the flexors and the psoas muscles. I also included a standing quad stretch because it’s great for posture. It can help loosen tight flexors, increase pelvic space, and help with walking. The last stretch is my favorite! For many people, this stretch helps eliminate lower back pain. Salt may be one of the most powerful natural remedies for chronic respiratory conditions. Learn how to reduce respiratory mucus with salt for healthier sinuses, clearer airways, and relief from chronic sinus infections.👉 Get Dr. Berg’s Daily Routine as a free download: https://drbrg.co/45qtO070:00 Introduction: How to get rid of mucus with salt 0:39 What causes respiratory mucus? 2:47 Reducing mucus with salt 4:17 Vitamin D and respiratory congestion 5:21 How to reduce lung congestion with salt 5:45 How to use a neti pot 7:57 Boiling salt water for respiratory conditions8:36 More tips to reduce respiratory mucus Most people with sinus issues and respiratory mucus have inflammation, but it’s usually not caused by an infection. When you treat chronic respiratory conditions with medication, you suppress the symptoms, causing the problem to linger. Antibiotics will only work if the problem is caused by bacteria, so they won’t be helpful if your congestion is caused by a viral infection, mold, or fungus. Deep inside the sinuses are tiny hairs called cilia. Beneath the cilia are mucus membranes, which are likely inflamed if you have excess mucus. When the body detects a foreign invader, it increases histamines, which create more mucus. Salt creates an osmotic shift, which means it can dehydrate mucus and directly destroy bacteria, mold, yeast, and fungus. It also has a mucolytic effect, so it thins and breaks down mucus directly, making it easier to eliminate. If your sinus problem is chronic, it may be caused by a fungal infection. If it only occurs during the winter months, suspect a vitamin D deficiency. In this case, you may want to try taking 50,000 IU of vitamin D per day, with vitamin K2 and magnesium. There are several ways to reduce mucus with salt. You can use salt water in a neti pot or inhale steam directly from a regular pot after boiling salt water. Use Himalayan sea salt instead of table salt. Garlic oil applied to a Q-tip and swabbed inside each nostril can also be beneficial. Try these other tips to help eliminate chronic respiratory mucus:• Consume 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar diluted in water 3 times per day • Inspect your home for mold • Eliminate sugar and starch from your diet • Avoid dairy Dr. Eric Berg DC Bio:Dr. Berg, age 60, is a chiropractor who specializes in Healthy Ketosis & Intermittent Fasting. There are 7 fat-burning hormones that are triggered by factors such as exercise and diet. These hormones are countered by 2 other dominant hormones, cortisol and insulin. In the presence of these two hormones, fat-burning hormones will not work! Cortisol isn’t just a stress hormone! It’s also a fat-storing hormone, specifically at night. If your cortisol is too high at night, you will not burn fat while you’re sleeping.Insulin is a fat-storing hormone that stops fat-burning hormones from working. High cortisol can cause your body to produce glucose, consequently spiking insulin. If you’re struggling with weight loss, especially belly fat, discipline and willpower aren’t the problem. You can’t lose weight while under stress! Lemon balm tea is one of the best weight loss drinks! It contains rosmarinic acid, which increases GABA. To improve the benefits, consume lemon balm tea with 1 scoop of magnesium glycinate powder, 60 minutes before bed. Magnesium glycinate helps lower cortisol levels and also increases GABA and insulin sensitivity. Here are a few other tips to help you lose belly fat:•No snacking•No liquids 90 minutes before bed•Lower carbohydrate intake •Daily walks in the sun•Write down problems before bed to avoid problem-solving/overthinking while trying to sleepDr. Eric Berg DC Bio:Dr. Berg, age 60, is a chiropractor who specializes in Healthy Ketosis & Intermittent Fasting. You can have liver damage for decades without any signs of liver failure. Spotting these 7 early signs of liver disease could save your life. Find out about the signs your liver is dying so you can act before it’s too late.0:00 Introduction: 7 signs your liver is dying0:32 The real cause of liver damage 1:14 7 liver dying symptoms3:05 Right shoulder pain4:06 Itchy skin and liver disease 5:16 Swollen abdomen and liver problems6:57 Reversing liver damage 8:22 How to improve liver health quickly Your liver is the hardest-working organ in your body, and the only major organ that can completely regenerate. Here are 7 liver warning signs that may indicate liver damage before the issue becomes too severe.1. Waking up between 2 and 3 a.m. A dysfunctional liver causes excessive blood sugar swings at night. A steep drop in blood sugar while you’re sleeping spikes adrenaline, which will wake you up.2. Right shoulder painWhen the liver is damaged, bile production slows down, leading to sluggish and clogged bile ducts. This can cause referred pain in the right shoulder. 3. Bruise easilyThe liver makes clotting factors, so if it’s damaged, you may find that you bruise more easily. 4. ItchingItching at night, particularly on the bottom of the feet and other parts of the body, can be caused by excess bile that backs up in the liver. 5. Low tolerance to alcoholPeople with liver problems can not efficiently break down alcohol, which causes more toxicity in the body.6. Fat belly/skinny legs A protruding belly is usually caused by an advanced form of liver damage called ascites, where fluid begins to build up in the abdomen. This is often associated with legs that are skinny due to muscle loss. 7. Brain irritationWhen the liver is damaged, you can’t effectively break down protein, which causes a backup of ammonia. This affects cognitive function and personality, leading to irritability, temper issues, brain fog, and difficulty focusing. You can go from a severely damaged liver to a healthy liver within weeks by avoiding hidden sugars in your diet!Try these 7 tips to improve liver health and reverse liver damage:1. Stop snacking2. Eliminate sugar, starch, and seed oils 3. Eat more high-quality meat and vegetables4. Go to sleep earlier5. Choose organic foods6. Consume cruciferous vegetables7. We’re living amidst the greatest health scam in history. Find out about the biggest health industry scams shaping everything you do. Uncover the shocking health truth in this video!0:00 Introduction: the biggest health scam ever 0:36 What is food? 2:28 Dietary health misinformation 4:01 Medical fraud 6:01 Ultra-processed foods and disease7:03 More health fraud exposed9:55 Lancet Planetary Health Diet The most significant factor affecting chronic disease is food. Did you know there’s a difference between the biological and legal definitions of food? The legal definition ignores biology, allowing literal poison to be marketed as food. Can you create health with ultra-processed food? No! It’s not sustainable and doesn’t repair tissues in the body. Healthy foods like red meat, saturated fats, and salt have been demonized. Food is often viewed only as a source of calories, making a glass of sugar water and a steak equal. “Balanced diets” are considered healthy, which further allows for the marketing of ultra-processed foods. Fraudulent health claims about food are just the tip of the iceberg. The definition of a drug is “anything intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent a disease.” By this definition, if broccoli can help prevent a disease, it’s a drug. We know that the calories from ultra-processed foods are one of the primary drivers of chronic disease, yet there is no established definition for these foods. RFK Jr. is currently working to change this. The definition of disease has been broadened to include risk factors and pre-disease conditions as diseases. This allows doctors to treat more conditions with drugs. Even the definition of health has been changed to increase the demand for drugs! There’s more. The Lancet Planetary Health Diet attempts to eliminate healthy animal-based foods and replace them with lab-grown meat, plant-based alternatives, and soy protein. It’s argued that we must subsidize these unhealthy foods or people will starve, but why not subsidize real food and support smaller farmers who produce quality products? hey, Dr Berg, interesting cast. i fast often, and find my body's normal expulsions of oils from foods. my skin a smoother, cleaner, and oil free. i started intermittently (fasting) and had to move to longer intervals because my body was resisting weigh loss. i have break through and feel great. now, i view food as a necessary evil (given its depleted state from various causes - another topic). so i fast 5 days and off week ends. also, i introduced weight lifting to enjoy proper balanced meals (1x) day. still enjoying weight loss. bottom line is fasting is a very healthy, albeit highly disciplined undertaking. American diet is to blame for poor health - period.
