Vitamin C is well-known for its immune health benefits, but is vitamin C really a vitamin at all? In this video, I’ll cover health facts about vitamin C, including the benefits, the symptoms of vitamin C deficiency, and how you can increase your levels. 👉 Download Dr. Berg's Free Daily Health Routine: https://drbrg.co/45qtO070:00 Introduction: What is vitamin C?0:16 Vitamin C explained1:16 Vitamin C deficiency 1:53 Vitamin C supplements 3:00 Vitamin C science 3:34 Vitamin C deficiency symptoms 6:01 Sources of vitamin C7:32 How to increase your vitamin C levels What if I told you that vitamin C isn’t a vitamin at all? Vitamin C is a stress survival molecule! The body uses vitamin C when it’s under certain types of stress, such as:• Infection • Inflammation • Injury • Emotional stress • Physical stress• Low oxygen If you’re on a high-sugar or high-carb diet, vitamin C will not work as efficiently in your body. Humans cannot produce vitamin C, and rely entirely on dietary sources. Around 90% of vitamin C supplements are synthetic and produced from corn sugar in factories, mostly manufactured overseas. Synthetic vitamin C is incredibly cheap, costing the producer around 30 cents per bottle. Check your vitamin C labels to ensure it’s not just ascorbic acid. The vitamin C molecule is structurally similar to sugar and enters the cell in the same way. So if you consume a lot of sugar or carbs, you won’t be able to adequately absorb vitamin C. Vitamin C supports the mitochondria, which is why you might feel fatigued if you’re deficient. It helps you handle stress, recycle other antioxidants, and absorb iron, leaving you feeling tired, weak, foggy, and unable to recover if you don’t have enough. Vitamin C also helps your cells properly respond to oxygen.Scurvy is the end-stage of a severe vitamin C deficiency. Subclinical scurvy is a modern-day issue characterized by slow healing, easy bruising, frequent infections, chronic fatigue, and chronic inflammation. Bleeding gums are also a common symptom of vitamin C deficiency. Some of the best sources of vitamin C are bell peppers, papaya, and raw sauerkraut. Heat and oxygen exposure degrade vitamin C, so pasteurized orange juice often lacks it. Fermented vegetables, especially sauerkraut, are loaded with vitamin C. To increase your vitamin C levels and avoid vitamin C deficiency:• Consume ½ cup of fermented vegetables daily• Consume bell peppers• Reduce stress• Reduce sugar intake• Go on a low-carb diet Dr. Eric Berg DC Bio:Dr. Berg, age 60, is a chiropractor who specializes in Healthy Ketosis & Intermittent Fasting. PeptidesPeptides are injectables used by athletes and celebrities for a wide range of health issues. I tried them for my osteoarthritis, but didn’t notice much change. Myofascial stretching is much more effective for osteoarthritis. Omega-3 fatty acids, cod liver, and eliminating seed oils from your diet can also be beneficial. 2. Stem cellsStem cell therapy is very expensive, and the small improvements were not worth the cost for me. Instead, try prolonged fasting to stimulate stem cells naturally. 3. Intermittent hypoxic/hyperoxic training This involves using a mask to strategically increase or decrease your oxygen intake during exercise. Reducing your oxygen intake during exercise mimics high-altitude training. As your cells become oxygen-deprived, your body generates new capillaries, increasing oxygen delivery to certain parts of the body. This can be incredibly beneficial for inflammation. To mimic the benefits of hypoxic training without the price tag, try a high-altitude training mask. 4. Ozone therapy Ozone therapy involves removing your blood, oxygenating it, and reinjecting it. This can be good for hidden infections, but try exercise, saunas, cruciferous vegetables, intermittent fasting, and prolonged fasting to naturally strengthen your body’s detoxification systems instead. 5. Dry fastingFasting without food or water can trigger survival genes, creating an intense effect on the body. You also burn more fat when you don’t drink water. Body fat is converted to water, called biological water, during a dry fast. 6. Ice bathsIce baths lower your body temperature, producing a therapeutic effect. I’ve found this to be incredibly beneficial for inflammation and arthritis, and have even noticed improvements in cognitive function and mood after an ice bath. Ice baths can also help boost weight loss!Dr. Eric Berg DC Bio:Dr. Berg, age 60, is a chiropractor who specializes in Healthy Ketosis & Intermittent Fasting. Sign the petition here: https://www.mahaaction.com/bill-details?id=1911402What happens if you’re no longer allowed to say that sugar is harmful? The new Florida agriculture bill could silence health critics and restrict discussion about food and pesticide health risks. This is a big deal! Just so you know, my full line of high-quality supplements is available on Amazon — search Dr. Berg Supplements.👉 Download Dr. Berg’s Free Daily Health Routine: https://drbrg.co/45qtO07 A new bill is being proposed to control who is allowed to speak about agriculture. This bill uses defamation as a weapon and essentially bans freedom of speech about the health effects of certain foods.Florida already has a law allowing farmers to sue someone who spreads false information about food. These discussions are referred to as "food libel" or "food disparagement." Investigative journalists have uncovered internal documents from large agricultural and chemical companies that have shown the real goal of the food disparagement law. It’s not about protecting the farmers; it’s about silencing health critics. This bill aims to silence environmental groups, journalists, activists, and scientists by making lawsuits so expensive and daunting that critics will simply give up. The term for this approach is called “chilling free speech." The old law applied only to perishable foods, while the new bill removes that classification. This expands the law to all agricultural products, including sugar. What’s even worse, this law includes any agricultural practices used in production. This means the criticism of pesticides, insecticides, fungicides, fertilizers, chemical runoff, water contamination, and more can all be treated as disparagement. It’s well known that sugar causes insulin resistance, fatty liver, chronic inflammation, type 2 diabetes, and more. The connection between sugar and chronic disease is not a rumor. If this bill is passed and someone speaks out about sugar or pesticides, even if it's true, they could be sued!Although this bill is coming out of Florida, it's important regardless of where you live because Florida crops are sold nationwide! Legal experts warn that this could open the door to lawsuits that go way beyond the state. We do not need more legal protection for powerful industries or increased corporate control of food.Think about what ultra-processed food companies can get away with if this bill is passed! If you believe ultra-processed foods are at the root of over 80% of chronic disease, please sign this petition. If you live in Florida, call your representative and complain! Flat feet are not genetic! Flat feet correction and prevention are simpler than you think. Discover the one exercise to fix flat feet and restore your foot’s arch naturally, along with some easy flat foot exercises to strengthen the arches of your feet. 0:00 Introduction: Exercises for flat feet 0:27 Foot arch function1:38 The best flat feet fix 2:27 More exercises for flat feet 3:26 Flat foot prevention in children4:04 Vitamin D, K2, magnesium, and flat feetIn this video, I’m going to show you the best flat foot fix that you can do at home. You’re born with flat feet and develop an arch when you’re around 6 to 10 years old. Some people develop a fallen arch as they age because they don't exercise the muscles that strengthen the arches of the feet. The purpose of your foot’s arch is to provide it with free energy. It acts as a preloaded spring when you walk, climb, or run. You can still walk if you've lost your arch, but other muscles will be recruited. The quads and PSOAS muscles will compensate for flat feet, and the hamstrings, glutes, and lower back will be underused and become weaker. Sprinting is the best exercise for flat feet, helping restore the foot arch naturally. Even if sprinting is difficult initially, you can improve within 6 to 8 weeks. Jogging is one of the worst exercises for flat feet! Strengthen the arches of the feet with these exercises and build up to sprinting:• A skipping• B skipping• High knees• Butt kicks When sprinting, sprint at 60% intensity, doing 2 to 3 sprints for 15 seconds each. To prevent flat feet in children, allow them to play in the grass or a safe environment without shoes to strengthen the arches of their feet. Look for shoes with thinner soles; barefoot shoes are best. Also, ensure there’s enough space for the toes to move. This improves posture by strengthening the glutes and taking pressure off the lower back. Low vitamin D, K2, and magnesium early in life can contribute to flat feet. Is your magnesium not working, even though you’re taking it daily? Discover why magnesium is not working, how to choose the best type of magnesium, improve magnesium absorption, and avoid common magnesium supplement mistakes in this video. If you’re taking magnesium for sleep and other benefits, yet you’re still dealing with insomnia, fatigue, high blood pressure, heart palpitations, leg cramps, anxiety, and more, this is for you. Magnesium is one of the most important minerals in the body. It’s involved in over 300 biochemical reactions and is vital for the following: • Heart rhythm• Healthy blood pressure levels• Sleep • Energy• Insulin • Nerve function • Mitochondrial functionHere are 8 common mistakes people make with magnesium, which could be the reason why your magnesium supplements are not working! 1. Thinking magnesium works by itself Magnesium and vitamin D are codependent. You need 4,000 to 10,000 IUs of vitamin D for magnesium to work properly in the body. If you don’t have enough vitamin B6, potassium, or sodium, it may seem that your magnesium is not working. 2. Ignoring cell membrane damageMany people have damaged cell membranes due to the consumption of seed oils. You need healthy cell membranes for magnesium absorption. 3. Stress Stress shuts down digestion, lowers immunity, decreases blood flow to certain organs, and increases the demand for magnesium. Caffeine can also deplete magnesium.4. Taking the wrong type of magnesium Magnesium oxide is the most common form of magnesium in supplements, but it’s the worst! Magnesium glycinate is a much better option and is the most absorbable. 5. Blocking magnesium absorption without knowingToo much calcium can block the absorption of magnesium. Zinc, fluoride, and aluminum can inhibit its function. Low stomach acid, antacids, and acid blockers can also interfere with magnesium absorption. 6. Misunderstanding RDAsRDAs do not represent a therapeutic dose. If you’re trying to correct a magnesium deficiency, you need significantly more magnesium than the RDA. If you want to increase your magnesium intake, spread your doses throughout the day, as you can only absorb around 300 to 400 mg at once.7. Unrealistic expectations Vitamins and minerals do not work like drugs. It can sometimes take a while to restore healthy biochemistry in the body. 8. Missing the insulin connection Insulin resistance can block magnesium absorption, and consequently, a magnesium deficiency can increase your risk of insulin resistance. Have you been hit by the winter blues, despite adequate vitamin D intake? Uncover the real cause of winter depression beyond your vitamin D levels and fix your winter mood problems naturally and effectively.👉 Download Dr. Berg’s Free Daily Health Routine: https://drbrg.co/45qtO07 If you’re taking vitamin D3 in the winter, yet still feeling depressed, this video is for you. The key difference between the winter and summer months is sunlight. Sunlight doesn’t just give us vitamin D; it’s involved in over 2000 genes, including those that trigger serotonin and melatonin, affecting the thyroid, microbiome, and more. Depression is the inability to feel pleasure or a higher state of emotion. Fortunately, there are many ways to elevate someone’s emotional state without the use of medication. Winter darkness pushes us inside and often exposes us to significantly more artificial light, which can affect our hormones and sleep. Colder temperatures also affect our physiology. Seasonal affective disorder is a condition that results from this misaligned circadian wave. Morning light is one of the key ways to solve winter depression and properly start your circadian wave for the day!Winter doesn’t just affect your mood; it desynchronizes your entire biology. Winter depression is often caused by a combination of factors, including:• Lack of sunlight • Imbalance of melatonin• Vitamin D deficiency • Artificial light • Decreased serotonin levels • Decreased melatonin levels Vitamin D is vital for the proper function of serotonin and dopamine in the body. Adequate vitamin D levels reduce inflammation in the brain and protect you against mitochondrial damage. The winter months can take a serious toll on your thyroid. The thyroid can’t always quickly adjust to the lack of sun and colder temperatures. This can affect your immune function and mood, and can also cause cold intolerance, brain fog, and weight gain. The microbiome is also affected by cold temperatures and lack of sunlight. Pair this with dietary changes associated with wintertime and holidays, and the microbiome shifts. We are not meant to eat sweets during this time, even fruit. It’s vital to eat what’s in season for a healthy microbiome. To fix winter depression, focus on the following:1 Sunlight exposure (morning light) 2. Don’t eat or buy junk food 3. Stay active in the cold weather Dr. Eric Berg DC Bio:Dr. Berg, age 60, is a chiropractor who specializes in Healthy Ketosis & Intermittent Fasting. I survived the world’s unhealthiest diet! Find out how I went from eating the unhealthiest foods in the world to finally getting my health on track. In this video, I’ll show you which foods contribute to insulin resistance and how you can shift from an ultra-processed diet to a healthy one. Download Dr. Berg’s Free Daily Health Routine: https://drbrg.co/45qtO07 0:00 Introduction: The unhealthiest diet in the world 1:30 Side effects of an unhealthy diet 2:41 Dopamine and sugar overload4:32 Environment and the processed food diet 6:28 How to quit sugar and junk food My entire childhood was filled with sugar, starch, seed oils, sweetened cereals, candy, soda, TV dinners, and more. As I got older, I’d graze after dinner until bedtime every single night. I consumed junk food and refined foods in the military while my life was high in stress and low in sleep. In college, I dealt with more stress, drank lots of coffee, and ate more junk food. Side effects of my unhealthy diet included:• Ulcers • Liver and gallbladder problems • Referred pain in the right shoulder • Restless legs syndrome• Nervousness • Insomnia • Dry eyes • Severe arthritis • Kidney stones I weighed 211 pounds, but the food I was eating was not satisfying! Refined carbs and sugar stimulate dopamine, which is not a pleasure neurotransmitter. Dopamine is an anticipatory neurotransmitter. The more you have, the more your body wants. If you eat too much junk food, you can develop dopamine resistance. This is what drives addiction, and why ultra-processed foods may satisfy you initially, but leave you feeling hungry an hour later. This is called dopamine hunger! You’re not struggling with your diet because of a lack of willpower; it’s your environment. The modern world is engineered with so many things to keep us hooked and addicted. Removing the triggers is the only solution!Ditch your unhealthy diet by focusing on your environment first. Try these steps:1. Get rid of ultra-processed foods: seed oils, starches, and sugar.2. No snacking, especially at night.3. No visible food.4. Find healthy substitutes for junk food.5. No blue light at night.6. Never go to the grocery store hungry or without a list. 7. Preserve your sleep.8. Be careful with social events. Herbal supplements are generally safe, but are there some dangerous herbs you should be aware of? Discover the natural remedy that can cause high blood pressure in certain people, and what to take instead. 👉 Download Dr. Berg’s Free Daily Health Routine: https://drbrg.co/45qtO07 0:00 Introduction: Natural herb to avoid if you have high blood pressure0:30 Licorice and blood pressure health 1:40 Sodium, potassium, and hypertension explained3:43 How much licorice will affect your blood pressure? 4:10 Licorice uses and benefits4:38 DGL (deglycyrrhizinated licorice)6:02 Dangerous herbs If you consume too much of this herb, it can cause you to retain sodium and flush potassium. You could also experience muscle cramps and heart arrhythmias!Licorice is commonly consumed in tea and candy, and some people take licorice root for adrenal health. Licorice contains a compound called glycyrrhizin, which blocks an enzyme in your body that protects you from producing too much cortisol. When you don’t have this enzyme, cortisol rises. Our bodies are designed to retain sodium because sodium hasn’t always been readily available. Today, we get plenty of sodium and not enough potassium. You need 4700 mg of potassium per day, a key electrolyte for heart health. It also helps generate energy in the nerves and muscles, protects against blood sugar issues, and helps store glycogen in your liver. Licorice supplements should not be taken daily, especially if you’re older, have high blood pressure, or are on certain medications like diuretics or Prednisone. Two cups of licorice tea per day may be enough to start shifting your body's electrolyte balance. Similarly, 100 mg of licorice candy daily for 2 weeks can also be problematic. One dose is not dangerous, but chronic low doses of licorice can build up in the body. Natural remedies are very powerful but not always completely safe for everyone. Licorice has been used for thousands of years as a remedy for ulcers, coughs, inflammation, infections, and more. DGL is a type of licorice without glycyrrhizin that can provide the benefits of licorice without affecting your blood pressure. If you’re having negative side effects from taking licorice, simply stop taking it and your symptoms should resolve. Most natural remedies can be very beneficial, and negative side effects are generally rare. Your anxiety is not in your head! Discover the hidden causes of anxiety disorder to finally say goodbye to anxiety symptoms for good. Stop anxiety attacks before they start by addressing the root cause. 👉 Download Dr. Berg’s Free Daily Health Routine: https://drbrg.co/45qtO07 0:00 Introduction: Why anxiety isn’t in your head0:29 Anxiety explained 2:16 Blood sugar anxiety 2:45 Cortisol and anxiety5:01 Poor sleep and chronic anxiety6:48 Stimulants and anxiety Anxiety has nothing to do with what's going on in your head and everything to do with what’s going on in your body!Anxiety is a state or condition of worry, indecision, fear, and tension. Anxiety symptoms often involve feelings or concerns that something bad is going to happen. Anxiety interferes with your ability to feel comfortable in your own skin, your sleep, and your overall state of well-being. Anxiety can directly affect your body, keeping you in a state of fight or flight. A heart rate variability test can determine how often your body is in this state. So, what causes anxiety? Here are five common causes. 1. Low blood sugar If your blood sugar is too low, you will have anxiety. When your blood sugar is low, your brain isn't getting fuel, which sends your body into panic mode. This increases cortisol and adrenaline, which causes the liver to release sugar so the brain can get fuel. Removing sugar from the diet and replacing it with high-quality protein, healthy fats, and vegetables can help fix this issue. 2. Lack of sleepPoor sleep increases cortisol, causing you to feel grouchiness, unnecessary worry, and anxiety. Blood sugar problems could also be the reason you aren’t sleeping well. 3. Low vitamin B1Vitamin B1, or thiamine, is one of the most important vitamins for your nervous system and brain. Anxiety and nervous tension are often the result of a deficiency in this vitamin. 4. StimulantsToo much caffeine affects your nervous system and depletes vitamin B1. Chocolate, coffee, and certain medications contain stimulants that can cause anxiety. 5. Low proteinProtein isn’t just important for fuel, it’s vital for our body’s biochemistry. If you feel better after eating protein, low protein could be the cause of your anxiety.Dr. Eric Berg DC Bio:Dr. Berg, age 60, is a chiropractor who specializes in Healthy Ketosis & Intermittent Fasting. Just a half teaspoon of this natural anti-inflammatory acts as a potent ibuprofen substitute for inflammation and pain relief. Discover the best home remedies for pain and inflammation, and learn how to address inflammation at the root. 0:00 Introduction: Natural ibuprofen substitute 0:18 Curcumin, the natural anti-inflammatory 1:58 Pain relievers and ibuprofen comparison 2:08 Ibuprofen effects 3:25 Turmeric as a natural remedy vs. ibuprofen 4:32 More natural pain relief alternatives 6:15 Triggers of pain and inflammation8:25 Preventing inflammation Turmeric contains a potent compound called curcumin that can naturally alleviate pain and inflammation. There are 4 biochemical pathways that act as “master switches” to turn pain and inflammation up or down:1. Pain and inflammatory factory2. Master inflammation on-switch3. Inflammation megaphone 4. Backup inflammatory alarm system Many inflammatory treatments do not address all four pathways. Ibuprofen is great at turning the pain and inflammation switch off, and does so very quickly. Unfortunately, this pathway protects the stomach and kidneys, so ibuprofen can cause stomach ulcers and kidney issues. It also doesn’t address the other inflammatory pathways, which is why people often have to take it repeatedly. Tylenol works in the brain, affecting the central nervous system, but does not relieve any inflammation. Similar to ibuprofen, aspirin works on the first inflammatory pathway, which can also affect your stomach.Turmeric affects 3 out of the 4 inflammatory pathways! A double-blind randomized controlled study found that taking 1500 mg of turmeric with black pepper produced results comparable to ibuprofen without the side effects. Extra-virgin olive oil mimics ibuprofen's effects at the molecular level. Try adding it to your salad regularly! Ginger and omega-3 fatty acids also work to reduce inflammation. Boswellia targets the 5-LOX pathway, also known as the backup inflammatory alarm system. There are 5 primary causes that flip the inflammatory switches on, leading to pain and inflammation in the body. By addressing the root cause, you can correct the pain rather than simply managing it. The following 5 factors turn on all of the inflammatory switches:1. Insulin resistance2. Mitochondrial damage3. Chronic oxidative stress4. Leaky gut5. Chronic infectionsTo prevent inflammation and address the root cause, try the following:• Low-carb diet • Eliminate ultra-processed foods• Intermittent fasting/prolonged fasting• Magnesium, vitamin D3, zinc, omega-3sDr. Eric Berg DC Bio:Dr. Berg, age 60, is a chiropractor who specializes in Healthy Ketosis & Intermittent Fasting. Porn addiction can destroy your life. Find out how to quit porn once and for all with a few simple strategies on overcoming addiction. Learn how to beat urges, eliminate triggers, and stop watching porn for good! 👉 Download Dr. Berg’s Free Daily Health Routine: https://drbrg.co/45qtO07 0:00 Introduction: Porn addiction recovery1:03 Dopamine and porn addiction4:42 Your brain on porn5:53 How to stop porn addiction8:12 Other tips to quit porn8:42 Addiction recovery and restoring dopamine levelsChronic porn addiction can destroy your sex life, your love life, and even interfere with your emotions. Porn addiction isn’t about sex or pleasure; it’s about dopamine.Pornography is the number one cause of erectile dysfunction in men under 40. Erectile dysfunction isn’t just the loss of erection; it’s a loss of libido and the ability to climax. The porn industry is not selling sex, they’re selling dopamine spikes! Dopamine is not a pleasure hormone, it’s a neurotransmitter. It’s about the anticipation before the pleasure: the want.Over time, pornography creates massive dopamine spikes, but the receptors are unable to receive them. This causes anticipation, cravings, and an obsessive urge to watch more porn. This is similar to the carb cravings you might experience if you have insulin resistance. Although 98 to 99 percent of porn is free, the porn industry manages to make billions off of the 1-2 percent of porn you have to pay for. This system relies on decreased sensitivity to dopamine, causing a person to crave more extreme porn.Too much dopamine leads to excitotoxicity, which is toxic to your neurons. As a protective mechanism, your cells will limit the amount of dopamine they allow in through a process called downregulation. The good news is that the damage to your dopamine receptors is reversible! The surprising solution is boredom. Allow yourself to be bored if you’re faced with the urge to watch porn. Over time, this will become easier and easier as your dopamine receptors return to normal. Try these tips to quit porn for good:• Don’t take your phone into the bedroom • Block pornography websites• Do not use social media that has soft porn• Remove triggers from your environmentTo restore normal dopamine levels after pornography addiction, focus on the following:• Sleep• Consistent exercise• Low-carb diet• Zinc• Magnesium • SunlightDr. Eric Berg DC Bio:Dr. Berg, age 60, is a chiropractor who specializes in Healthy Ketosis & Intermittent Fasting. The most common type of vertigo is known as benign paroxysmal positional vertigo, or BPPV. This type of vertigo is caused by tiny calcium crystals that have broken off and migrated to the incorrect part of the ear, resulting in dizziness and spinning sensations. There are tiny hairs in the ear connected to nerves that pick up information and send it to your brain. A gel keeps this area sensitive, and calcium crystals act as weights in the gel to enhance its effectiveness. Calcium-binding proteins hold the calcium in the gel, which is regulated by vitamin D3. Many people with vertigo are extremely deficient in vitamin D!Vitamin D controls 2,400 different genes and is essential for immune function, healthy blood pressure levels, and acts as a potent anti-inflammatory agent. There is a tremendous amount of research supporting the use of vitamin D3 as an effective remedy for vertigo. Still, some research does not utilize nearly enough vitamin D. To prevent vertigo, you need at least 6,000 to 10,000 IU of vitamin D3 daily. Vitamin D does not work without magnesium. Magnesium is one of the master controllers of calcium, so a combination of vitamin D3 with magnesium is one of the best things you can do for vertigo. Vitamin K2 tells the body where to put calcium, and without enough, you can end up with calcium in the wrong places. For long-term vertigo relief, take at least 10,000 IU of vitamin D daily, with magnesium and vitamin K2. This problem could take a couple of weeks or more to address, so in the meantime, the Epley maneuver can provide immediate vertigo relief. Your liver releases stored glucose and enters a repair mode called autophagy while you sleep, and when you eat breakfast, you interrupt this process. Your insulin levels are lowest in the morning, and fat-burning is directly linked to low insulin levels. Eggs and bacon are a good breakfast, but most people consume more carbs, which stimulates insulin production. Breakfast for most people includes foods such as sweetened yogurt, juice, cereal, pancakes, waffles, muffins, toast, jelly, hash browns, and more! This creates a massive blood sugar spike, setting you up for a day full of blood sugar swings. Many people eat eggs and bacon with their carbs and assume it’s fine as long as they’re getting protein. Although protein can help lower blood sugar, it does not reduce insulin levels.Chronic high insulin can have the following effects on your liver and overall health:• Inability to burn fat• Keeps the body in fat-storing mode • Sodium retention• Increased hunger• Inflammation• Visceral fat • Iron retention• Halts ketosis • Fibrosis of the liver• Increased androgens• Fatigue• Nighttime urination• Increased cortisol The best breakfast is no breakfast! Eating two meals per day with no snacks and following a keto diet forces your body to use ketones for energy, so you can easily go from one meal to the next without being hungry. When I stopped eating breakfast, I noticed improved mental capacity and mood, and I immediately lost weight! Try eliminating carbs from your breakfast and diet, and don’t eat in the morning if you’re not hungry. Keep pushing your first meal closer to lunch time until your body adjusts. This will be incredibly beneficial for your liver health.Dr. Eric Berg DC Bio:Dr. Berg, age 60, is a chiropractor who specializes in Healthy Ketosis & Intermittent Fasting. In the early 1900s, the vast majority of remedies were natural.Cod liver oil benefits go far beyond its omega-3, vitamin A, and vitamin D content. Check out the following unique properties and benefits of cod liver oil!1. Cod liver oil matches the brainThe DHA and EPA ratio in cod liver oil closely matches the omega-3 fatty acid ratio in your brain. Cod liver oil is high in DHA, while fish oil is higher in EPA. This is good for inflammation, but DHA is better for the brain, eyes, mitochondria, and immune system. DHA is an essential structural fat in the brain that’s vital for nerve cell function and communication. It also strengthens the membranes of the mitochondria.2. Alkylglycerol This compound is not found in fish oil. Alkylglycerol is naturally present in bone marrow and helps regulate the immune system and supports the production of antibodies.3. Seed oils compete with key fats in cod liver oilSeed oils are high in omega-6 fatty acids, while cod liver oil is high in omega-3s. The average American consumes 20% to 25% of their calories from seed oils, which build up in the body’s membranes over time. Because these two fats compete, cod liver oil can help mitigate the damage of seed oil consumption.4. Cardiolipin This compound helps you make energy, but it’s dependent on DHA. 5. CoQ10This supports the heart and is a necessary building block for energy. 6. Gut immune system Vitamin A in cod liver oil can help prevent a leaky gut, and supports the body's internal mucosal layers. 7. Vitamins D & K2Vitamin D supports immune function and structural calcium for strong bones. Cod liver oil also contains vitamin K2, which protects you from developing too much calcium in the blood. You can also consume cod liver for all the amazing benefits of cod liver oil. Heterogeneous2. Sick and living on the edge3. Metabolically inflexible 4. Originates from damaged mitochondria Insulin resistance is one of the most significant contributors to cancer risk. Insulin resistance can lead to metabolic inflexibility. Cancer also migrates to areas of inflammation. Microbiome disruption damages the microbes that protect the body against cancer. Toxicity caused by alcohol, smoking, and pesticides can also increase the risk of cancer. When you combine these risk factors, you significantly increase your risk of developing cancer.Colon cells get their fuel from a compound called butyrate, which is produced when a microbe consumes fiber. Butyrate strengthens the colon's lining, supports its function, and has potent anti-inflammatory properties. Fiber has protective properties against cancer, but if your gut microbiome is compromised, it can make matters worse. The more advanced the cancer you have, the more you’ll need to do prolonged fasting. This stresses the cancer cells and deprives them of fuel. The fasting-mimicking diet is also beneficial. If you haven’t been diagnosed with cancer, periodic prolonged fasting can help with prevention. High doses of vitamin D3, sun exposure, and oxygen are also protective against cancer. A rotating diet is an incredible tool for cancer prevention. Focus on consuming key nutrients, including vitamin D3, zinc, omega-3 fatty acids, polyphenols, turmeric, cruciferous vegetables, herbs, spices, green tea, and fermented vegetables. hey, Dr Berg, interesting cast. i fast often, and find my body's normal expulsions of oils from foods. my skin a smoother, cleaner, and oil free. i started intermittently (fasting) and had to move to longer intervals because my body was resisting weigh loss. i have break through and feel great. now, i view food as a necessary evil (given its depleted state from various causes - another topic). so i fast 5 days and off week ends. also, i introduced weight lifting to enjoy proper balanced meals (1x) day. still enjoying weight loss. bottom line is fasting is a very healthy, albeit highly disciplined undertaking. American diet is to blame for poor health - period.

love Dr. berg, but too long of an intro. I hear it too much. Always great info and I can't get enough.
