Do you ever try to write your thoughts, but they’re coming too quickly for you to write them down? Do you have that feeling of overwhelming thoughts frequently? How much time do you spend ruminating on the past? Imagine a day where you take each moment as it comes and don't think about past moments. Imagine going to sleep at night without replaying all the wrong things you said that day. This freedom is totally possible by practicing a few new things and applying some principles to your daily life. We all have a little nagging voice in the back of our head that can tend to narrate negative things regularly. That little nagging voice might convince you that you can tell exactly what others are thinking of you. When you believe these things, you're only creating more destruction in your own life. Instead of replaying each conversation you’ve ever had, focus your attention on the present moment. When we remember the past, we typically see more negative than positive. Think for a moment about what you're grateful for. It’s possible to feel that gratitude in each moment of the day. Imagine how it might feel to dive into life and pursue your true potential! What do your days look like? What kind of people are in your life? What is your profession? What hobbies do you make time for? Shedding Your Doubt Carrying around negativity and doubt adds a ton of weight to your shoulders. You’re allowed to let go and move on from any doubt you have in your life. It’s okay to be unsure and confused. That’s a natural part of life. Self-Doubt Self-doubt is the first thing you want to let go of. If you’re constantly doubting what you say or do, the time has come to make a change. If you lack confidence in any environment, it’s time to transform your thinking. Your spirit and energy can be totally drained by self-doubt. Sometimes it’s difficult to realize that you’re doubting yourself, especially if self-doubt has become such a natural part of your inner dialogue that you don’t notice it. Critical Self-Talk Self-doubt can be caused by the words you say to yourself on a daily basis. The way you see yourself and the world around you is affected by your self-talk. Begin to change your thinking, it will be difficult to see the many possibilities in your life. If you continue to berate yourself for the way you walk, talk, or breathe, you will only dig yourself further into a hole of negativity. Doubting Relationships Think about your community as a whole. Take an aerial view of it and see all of the connections in your life. Think about your barista at the coffee shop, your colleagues at work, your best friends, and any significant other you either have or will have in your life. Do you need more authentic connections in your life? Let’s start by identifying how you doubt yourself, and how that doubt manifests in your life. Questions to consider: ● How often do you sacrifice your needs for what others want? ● Do you frequently apologize for things you don’t need to apologize for? ● Have you ever been called or referred to yourself as a people pleaser? ● Do you stop yourself from speaking up for yourself? How to Easily Expand Your Comfort Zone What if I told you I'd give you $1,000 to make an important public speech? Would you take the offer? Like most of us, you probably recoiled immediately at the idea, even though it could be lucrative for you! Why didn’t this idea appeal to you? When the very thought of certain activities evokes fear or anxiety within you, it's because they're outside your comfort zone. Public speaking, for example, is outside most people's comfort zone. Your comfort zone is the sphere of activities that you feel comfortable with and that you can accomplish without negative emotions. It also includes people, places, and things that cause only positive thoughts within you. How Important is Your Comfort Zone? Your comfort zone can limit your capabilities and cause you to forsake your dreams and goals, or it can spur you on to great things. In fact, your comfort zone can determine both your personality and your potential for success. Many successful people achieve their goals because they have the ability to expand their comfort zone in order to get what they want. If you wish to expand your comfort zone, you can mentally condition yourself to be comfortable in new situations so you can overcome your anxiety, achieve your goals, and fulfill your dreams. Here are some tips you can use to expand your comfort zone and help fight your anxiety about certain situations: Understand your mindset. Mental conditioning plays a large role in developing your comfort zone. This means that how we form our comfort zones begins in our own mind. Each of us already has preconceived notions of what may be comfortable and what may not be, and we designate mental guidelines to keep us within our comfort zone. You have chosen your own comfort zone boundaries! Knowing your boundaries is the first step to being able to expand them. Disobey some of your self-imposed rules. If you want to expand your comfort zone, you must let yourself loose from the guidelines you impose on yourself. Breaking some of these rules will allow you to seek new experiences that can bring you greater success! Consider the true risk of a situation. It’s important to know what the true risks are, as opposed to what you feel (or fear) may occur. Knowing the difference can enable you to overcome your limitations. Challenge yourself to step outside your comfort level. Many times, we are our own worst enemy when it comes to boundaries and limitations. There are times when you’ll have to push yourself to get where you want to be. In these instances, you must meet the challenge to leave your comfort zone. When stepping outside your comfort zone brings you success, you’ll find that the benefits are well worth the effort! Whenever you try something for the first time, you’re bound to be a little uncomfortable. We’re all conditioned to fight change and stay in our comfort zones. You may have to remind yourself that only you can push yourself to step outside the box. Be patient, be aware of your self-imposed limitations, and try things in small steps at a time. This way your comfort zone will expand at a gradual, comfortable pace, and your fears and anxieties will subside as you gain positive experiences. Keep your dreams in sight! What Is The Goal? First of all, new years fitness resolutions are highly individual. It might be getting in shape for one person, another trying new fitness classes, and the third is perhaps training for a new half marathon. Most new year's fitness resolutions fail because one of the above new year's health resolution mistakes has been made. So, what can we do to fix this? First and foremost, it comes down to... It is actually no surprise that new years weight loss and fitness resolutions fail so quickly - when you set yourself up for failure from the beginning, then the new year's resolution failure rate is no surprise! Before anything else, you have to change your mindset. Just because the new year has arrived doesn't necessarily mean it is the most suitable time to start. Taking care of your body and mind should turn into regular habits rather than a short-lived goal. It's just that the New Year is a symbol - One that signifies the beginning of something new and perhaps, in your case, the beginning of the greater YOU. So focus on your mindset first - Realize that self-care is of utmost importance, and it doesn't matter if it's January the 1st or 20th of April - The sooner you start, the better! What we are about to do together has come to me through life, love, joy, sorrow, pain, tears, faith, family and in the end love. After all life is a 4-letter word. Yes it is! I have said a few of them in my day. I’m sure I have said several today. Ever said a 4-letter word? Let’s make LIFE our 4-letter word. It’s time to create YOUR future without excuses! Every struggle, every success you have ever had has put your right here in this place in time to read, learn and embrace the life you have while building the life of your dreams. You know what I bet we have a lot in common. I know we do. I want to wake up & be amaZing and see the beauty around me everyday. I want to wake up and take joy in the ordinary. Staying motivated on a daily basis is difficult. In order to achieve your health and fitness goals one must plan, prepare and execute. It may sound daunting, but it doesn’t have to be. Follow these steps and you’ll look back at the last half of the year and you’ll be able to pat yourself on the back for a job well done. STAYING MOTIVATED Make it fun – exercise doesn’t have to be drudgery — and you’re more likely to stick with a fitness program if you’re having fun. Make physical activity part of your daily routine – schedule workouts as you would any other important activity. Keep track of what you are doing – recording your efforts can help you work toward your goals — and remind you that you’re making progress. Share what you are doing – tell someone what your goals are. Let them be your sounding board and encouragement and be sure to ask them to join you. Reward yourself – take a few minutes to savor the good feelings that exercise gives you. This type of internal reward can help you make a long-term commitment to regular exercise. External rewards can help, too. When you reach a longer range goal, treat yourself to a new pair of walking shoes or new tunes to enjoy while you exercise. Be flexible – if you’re too busy to work out or simply don’t feel up to it, take a day or two off. Be gentle with yourself if you need a break. The important thing is to get back on track as soon as you can. Success Is a Boring Marathon Instead Of An Exciting Sprint. When I started my journey as an entrepreneur, I assumed every day would be flashy and exciting. I thought it would be fast-paced, sexy, spectacular. And yes, I love being an entrepreneur, but it isn’t what I initially thought it would be. Nowadays, I realize how working towards success in any area — whether business, art, or sports — is more like a marathon than a sprint. A marathon is slow, steady, and even dull at times. A sprint is quick, intense, and exciting. Where a sprint is all about building and releasing tension in less than a minute, a marathon is about consistency, patience, and persistence. If you want to achieve anything worthwhile in any area of life, get comfortable with the fact that success isn’t about fast sprints (even if your name is Usain Bolt) but rather about a slow and not-so-sexy marathon.
