In this latest episode, Nic Wilson and I talked about the Neo No, including: Where the term came from and how Love and Will are related; What a Neo No actually is; What a difference expressing our Noes makes in our lives; How we can use them internally (eg. to be unwilling to coerce ourselves) and externally (eg. to be unwilling to be treated in a certain way) and so much more! In this episode of The Psychospiritual Podcast, we talk about how The Marion Method, in particular the Will Work, can bring about a deep sense of inner freedom. We include: freedom whilst at school, freedom in the birthing system, The Neo No and how it's different from not wanting something, and how expressing what we are not willing for brings freedom. We share about the phrase, "I'm just not willing to do that to myself any more" and why it's so powerful. We talk about how truly powerful we are and why The Disconnected Domination Culture doesn't want us to know and experience this. In this episode of The Psychospiritual Podcast, I'm talking again with Nic Wilson of Peaceful Parenting, who is a Marion Method Mentor and Aware Parenting instructor. In it, we talk about the Inner Loving Presences, and the process of being able to change our inner dialogue from harsh and judgmental to deeply compassionate. Nic also shares the process of supporting her daughter in developing a connection with her own Inner Loving Mother, and how we can help children so that they are not affected when people say harsh things to them. We discuss how Inner Loving Presences can offer compassion and empathy, as well as encouragement and support, as well as say no to others from our past, and offer us Loving Limits if we're about to reach for chocolate when we're upset. I LOVED this episode with Nic Wilson, A Marion Method Mentor. In it, we talk about shame, guilt and other emotional sticks, as I call it in The MM work. We discuss what these sticks are and how they are acquired. We also share about how, on a systemic level, shame and guilt keep The Disconnected Domination Culture in place. We also talk about how understanding all of this is so helpful when parenting in different ways to the mainstream, when other people might be trying to hit us with those emotional sticks of judgment and shaming. We talk about the process of gradually getting free from them and what a huge difference this makes in life, as well as the beauty and power of supporting children to be freer or free from them in the first place! If you want to find out more about Nic and her work, you can do that at: https://peacefulparenting.com.au/ You can find out more about Marion and her work at: https://marionrose.net/
In this second episode of the series with Marion Method Mentor, Nic Wilson, we talk about the specific process by which our inner relationships change and then our outer relationships change. We talk about the mourning process that many of us need to go through in our relationships with our parents, and the paradox that can often happen after that. In connecting with our Inner Loving Parents and receiving the empathy that we are longing for, as well as the reparative experiences, we often then experience externally with our outer parents what we now experience internally. We can also connect in with the Soul versions of our partner, ex, friends or other people in our lives - this can be helpful if there is some kind of conflict and they aren't in the spaciousness to be able to really hear us. Often, that being heard internally then helps bring relief so we can then stay connected with that person externally. We also talk about how being unwilling to coerce ourselves internally creates change externally, both in our unwillingness to do something, and in the response from the other. We share how powerful our Neo No is! Oh I am SO excited to share this next episode of The Psychospiritual Podcast with you, because in it I talked to Anya of Anya's Reviews, about all things related to barefoot shoes. I found the conversation SO fascinating! She shared about her own journey of experiencing a lot of foot pain, to devoting her time to explore and experiment in a very nuanced way to develop strong and healthy feet, and how her research led her to be able to support other people on their own unique journeys of reconnecting with their feet. She shared about what barefoot shoes are, and how each person's journey to foot health, freedom and presence is so difference and nuanced. She offered an invitation to deeply trust children and to support them to stay connected with their own healthy feet. We talked about how 'normal' shoes can lead to dissociation, and how we can invite more presence back into our lives on this foot journey. We also discussed the history of pointed and heeled shoes, about class and about The Disconnected Domination Culture. We talked about perceptions of shoes, of beauty and aesthetics, and of valuing all of our needs here. Anya also shared about anatomical socks and toe socks, as well as the change in our posture that happens when we walk without shoes. I SO highly recommend following Anya on Instagram or Facebook at: https://www.instagram.com/anyasreviews/ and https://www.facebook.com/anyasreviews. I also highly recommend her website, which has lots of amazing and informative articles about barefoot shoes and foot health. You can find that at: https://anyasreviews.com/ You can also find her barefoot shoe finder at: https://barefootshoefinder.com/

I so enjoyed the conversation with Devon Harris, who is an Aware Parenting Instructor and mother of a 7-year-old son. This is the fifth in the Aware Parenting and Homeschooling series. We started the conversation with Devon sharing about how she first learnt about Aware Parenting (in an extinct volcano!) and travelled through discussions about whether or not to choose terminology to describe homeschooling, to giftedness and how gifted children often fall through the schooling system. She shared about how Aware Parenting and natural learning fit together, and offered a suggestion that I loved both about if you feel called to home educate and if you feel called to work with her. You can connect with Devon here: https://www.theparentingarchitect.com/ https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100010436254368 You can find the Gifted Homeschoolers Forum that Devon talked about here: https://ghflearners.org/

Steph talked about her journey of Aware Parenting and homeschooling, both of which she came to before giving birth to her first son. She also shared about what happened when her older son went to school for a while and the effect of High Sensitivity in children and adults on learning and schooling.
