On the last Day Ones of 2020, we do our best to reflect on what felt like the the longest year of our lives. We try to parse through the pandemic, racial justice uprisings, and election to find any lessons or reflections that can help with processing their contributions to the year. Then, we comb through our personal realizations from the year and end up discussing how badly celebrities fucked up,  the ways that we surprised ourselves, and take on the difficult task of figuring out what would be useful to  take from 2020, into 2021.   We appreciate you rocking with us this year, and as usual you can always catch any past episodes on our feed. Feel free to give us a rating and share our show with a friend. Happy New Year! @storytellertone @justinandthehonorednone

Hey. There's an extra seat. Wanna roll with me to Homecoming? Original air date:unknown. Corrupted during multiverse transfer.
On what is maybe one of the few(or only) Black History Month inspired pieces of Bachelor content, Storyteller Tone joins Justin to celebrate Blackness by honoring the dope, strong Black women from this season. We run through our favorite highlights from them, extend copious amounts of love and good vibes, and recognize these contestants by raising their dresses to the rafters. Recap episode coming later this week! FYI: “Retiring a jersey is an honor a team bestows upon a player, usually after the player has left the team.” IYKYK. Presented by @dayonespodcast
On this episode, we begin by discussing the incredible film, The Last Black Man in San Francisco, and some of its themes of gentrification and displacement. Then, we have a conversation with Keith Jouganatos and Mike Diamond about the consequences of keeping culture out of venues and night clubs, how to work toward inclusivity in the Sacramento community,  the Goldfield Trading Post incident, and much more.  Original air date: unknown. Corrupted during multiverse transfer. @mikediamond @keithjouganatos @storytellertone @justinandthehonorednone
A mega episode. Been away for a bit but resurrected in full effect. All three episodes we missed are recapped here! In Pedals and Thorns, we review Tyler C’s acting debut and the remnants of another podcast’s obsession with him. We start the recap way back in Cleveland with Peter continuing to be indecisive with Alayah and getting rid of basically all of the Black contestants. We head to Costa Rica and analyze the symbolism of Peter’s golf cart accident, whether or not Sydney is mysterious, and what the hell happened with Kelsey and Tammy. Then we get to the controversial Cosmo photo shoot and the consequences for Victoria F, Natasha shuts it down, and try to figure out the reason for ABC not airing important conversations for viewers. In Santiago, Chile, we all witnessed the whitest moment in Bachelor history. Mykenna takes a stand, but has surprising competition for the “strongest stand” title. Peter has a bizarre need for tears and an even weirder relationship with Victoria F. I give a wild ass hot take for Bachelorette, and we lose two more contestants. Finally, in Lima, Peru, will Madison’s faith play a role in later episodes? The last one standing- Natasha says goodbye. Kelsey and Peter run up a hill, a confusing ass three on one, and we wonder why does Peter hate fun so much? We close by making predictions for Hometowns, and agree that we have no idea what Peter wants. Presented by: Day Ones Podcast Appearances from: Larry June, Tom Perez, Braceface, and Frankenbites.
This week on the Day Ones Podcast, we kick off by giving  love to Barry Jenkins’ latest masterpiece, If Beale Street Could Talk. We share our thoughts on the film artistically and thematically, which leads to a discussion on the endurance of black people searching for love. We end up diving into our own personal experiences as black men navigating through relationships, and our own obstacles we've had to sort through to become healthy humans. We analyze our views of love growing up versus how that compared to reality(10:00). Then, DJ and Hanee of the Both Sides Podcast join us to share stories of their journey together and they let us pick their brains on the joy of black love(19:25).  Next, Storyteller Tone and Justin discuss breakups, how racism infiltrates relationships(39:30), what our healing processes have been like after a break up(58:20) and give our picks for our "Sad Nigga Playlist" (1:07:20). To close, we review the different types of apps (as only we can) so you don't have to, exchange random dating stories, and what finding a healthy relationship looks like(1:24:20).  All this, and somehow we talk fetishizing, cuckolding(insert wide-eyed emoji), the fine line of being "comfortable" in a relationship, identity, holding unnecessary burden, why Justin isn't making anymore "toxic" love songs, and much much more. This might be one of our most personal episodes yet, so we hope you can enjoy and gain a new perspective. Feel free to hit us up and share your own perspectives, as well as to challenge us! Original air date: unknown. Corrupted during multiverse transfer. @storytellertone @justinandthehonorednone @both_sidesdjrs

We made it to episode 5, and from the way he looked in his last episode, maybe longer than Peter’s sanity. On this one, Lili Avila is the guest(check out the Day Ones episode we did with her back at S02E06). In Pedals and Thorns, we discuss the recent KenJoe split and the quality of other Bachelor Nation relationships. Then, we do our best to sort through the most recent episode of The Bachelor. Including: Oh, like Cleveland forreal? Did Victoria F executive produce for Chase Rice? + That awkward ass date. Peter and Chase bro out. The women risk mild CTE for a tie and a front row seat to some drama while Victoria P gets a massage. Alayah vs. the world. Kelsey & Peter do the polka. Is it the facade falling apart for Victoria P? And a lot more! Presented by @dayonespodcast Follow on ig: @captainsavearosepod

Of course, we ask if the smoke with Joey was real and check on the current status of the homies of the show. Next, we ask about his career playing basketball overseas, who inspired him to hoop, and if he has intentions to play in the NBA. We close by learning about his new app, Overseas Basketball Connection, an innovative resource designed to connect basketball players and international teams. It’s a dope episode that you’ll want to check out even if you haven’t checked the show. (Check the show, you got somebody’s password lol) Follow Antonio @therealantoniodepina and look out for the app Overseas Basketball Connection, available for iOS and Android. Please give us a follow, like, review, or subscription! @dayonespodcast @storytellertone @justinandthehonorednone
The first recap episode! A very special guest joins @justinandthehonorednone on Captain Save a Rose. We’ll run down Bachelor related news in Pedals & Thorns which includes sending some well wishes to the homie Blake, and how the Tolbert family may have finessed a million dollars from DraftKings. Then we recap highlights from the premiere including: Peter’s ethnic and his family is low key scary. We love Tammy(so far!) Eunice accurately compares introductions to Greek Serenades. Victoria F manages to make teacups seem horrifying. Did Peter and Kelley hook up? (They hella did.) We say goodbye to Maurissa and thank her for inspiring OUR 1st episode. Fantasy Beefs! Along the way we argue about Hannah Ann, v-necks, Vanessa G, and if Peter is an assassin. We finish up P&T by discussing whether or not Bachelor producers mistreat Hannah Brown.
