Kieran interviews David Gerard, author of Attack of the 50 Foot Blockchain, who discusses the continuity of grift that saw the crypto bros pivot to AI for their next scam. This forced David to also pivot to AI by starting a blog and youtube channel called “Pivot to AI”. David is at pains to stress that this is not really a tech story, it is a financial and economic story above all else. Unlike related tech, the LLM technology of the headlining hyperscalers is not a viable industry. The bubble must burst at some point. The grifters are extending the scam to try to flog the worthless equity off before then. The bubble burst will very likely create more that just a recession. David’s advice is to compost or tax billionaires out of existence.
