What's trending in travel? On today’s Trending Tuesday episode, we discuss a video that went viral recently. A woman, (Van Lifer/content creator) was visiting Mexico and records inside sacred temple in Chamula, Mexico, despite there being posted signs prohibiting any camera use, pictures, and video. The woman knew it was wrong so she snuck the phone in and began video recording from her backpack while rituals were taking place by community members. None of whom consented to being videotaped nor posted online. This content creator received much deserved backlash but doubled down and then apologized. Was the apology sincere? Not to us. But we hope moving forward she makes better choices and other travelers, van lifers, content creators see this and understand we are visitors and it is a privilege and should be treating people and places with tremendous respect.
