She has traveled to over 25 countries, mainly as a solo female traveler, and started Latina Traveler because of all the questions she was getting about how to do it along the way. Which now serves as a helpful resource for Latinas and other WOC on how to travel safely and with confidence even with traveling solo. She has worked as a guide in the tourism industry leading trips of teenagers similar to the trip that sparked her forever love of travel. Her passion of travel has led her to complete two masters in tourism and travel journalism.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, Princess is extremely proud of her Caribbean roots as a first-generation Haitian American. An educator for over a decade, she advocates and creates spaces for culturally responsive practices that promote anti-racism, equity, and inclusion in schools.
She uses her platform, Franny the Traveler blog, to inspire micro-cations, educate on Black travel and amplify underrepresented voices as she seeks to visit 50 countries and all 50 states before the age of 50.

What's trending in travel? On today’s Trending Tuesday episode, we discuss a video that went viral recently. A woman, (Van Lifer/content creator) was visiting Mexico and records inside sacred temple in Chamula, Mexico, despite there being posted signs prohibiting any camera use, pictures, and video. The woman knew it was wrong so she snuck the phone in and began video recording from her backpack while rituals were taking place by community members. None of whom consented to being videotaped nor posted online.
This content creator received much deserved backlash but doubled down and then apologized. Was the apology sincere? Not to us. But we hope moving forward she makes better choices and other travelers, van lifers, content creators see this and understand we are visitors and it is a privilege and should be treating people and places with tremendous respect.
