Send a text Feeling hidden, overlooked, or stuck in a chaotic season? We walk through David’s creative journey to show how God forms artists from the inside out—long before the spotlight, long after the first breakthrough. This isn’t a pep talk about hustle; it’s a field-tested map for moving from chaos to calling with clarity and courage. We start where most creators stumble: misreading obscurity as failure. Using David’s early years in the field, we unpack how communion with God grounds id...
Send a text What if your most meaningful work begins before the chaos clears? We revisit Bezalel—the artisan behind the tabernacle—and uncover why Scripture highlights something far more decisive than talent or tenure: being filled with the Spirit. As we walk through the wilderness setting, the golden calf crisis, and the divine blueprint given to Moses, we show how communion fuels creativity, how revelation becomes a pattern for making, and how alignment with God outruns experience every tim...
Send a text One honest mistake can feel like a verdict on your calling. We’ve been there—rejected shows, failed pieces, spirals of self-doubt—and we know how quickly disappointment tries to rewrite your identity. Today we walk through a clear, grace-filled path to recover emotionally and spiritually after creative setbacks, so you can return to the studio lighter, wiser, and free. We start by naming how disappointment opens the door to lies and why artists are uniquely vulnerable when work f...
Send a text What would change if you stopped playing it safe and said a full, unapologetic yes to your creative calling? We unpack the five shifts that begin the moment you surrender the hustle and create from identity: peace replaces pressure, favor opens doors, your art becomes an encounter, provision flows with integrity, and fresh ideas arrive on demand. Along the way, we share stories from the studio, practical steps to steward your gift, and scriptures that ground the journey without tu...
Send a text Pressure isn’t a prerequisite for great art. We walk through five biblical principles that turn the studio into a sacred place of connection, courage, and craft: abiding in the vine, receiving creativity as a gift, offering your work back to God, marrying Spirit with skill, and rooting identity in Christ so risk becomes a runway instead of a cliff. These aren’t abstract ideas; they’re battle-tested rhythms that have reshaped decades of creative work and helped thousands of artists...
Send a text What if the reason your art feels heavy isn’t skill, time, or tools—but the story you believe about your worth? We explore how a subtle “orphan mindset” drives perfectionism and fear, and how a renewed mind frees you to create from love rather than grinding for approval. The goal isn’t hype or hustle. It’s a grounded identity that makes room for joy, risk, and real growth in the studio. We start by naming the gap: many artists trust that God is Creator and giver of gifts, yet sit...
Send a text Feeling buried under shifting algorithms and scattershot advice? We’re pulling back the curtain on seven strategies that actually generated income for artists this year—backed by hundreds of survey responses from our mentoring community. The theme is clear: simple systems, strong relationships, and consistent action beat hacks every time. We start with teaching as a reliable income engine that builds trust and turns students into collectors—through weekly classes, small workshops...

Send a text Ever felt that promoting your art might steal glory from God? We tackle that honest tension head-on and show how scripture frames visibility as faithful stewardship, not self-promotion. Starting with a student’s heartfelt question about signing her cards, we trace the quiet slide from obedience into paralysis and uncover the fear hiding beneath “humble” language. We walk through Exodus 31 to meet Bezalel—named, filled with the Spirit, and publicly entrusted with skill, wisdom, an...
Send a text What if mind renewal wasn’t abstract advice but a concrete, daily rhythm that rewires your creative life? We dig into Romans 12:2 and show how a Spirit-led process can transform the inner story you believe, so your art flows from peace instead of pressure and from calling instead of comparison. This isn’t motivational fluff. It’s a practical blueprint for partnering with the Holy Spirit to change how you think, decide, and create. We walk through the Five R’s—Recognize, Repent, R...
Send a text What if your creative breakthrough isn’t about striving harder, but about believing what’s already true about you? We explore five bold declarations from Scripture that dismantle shame, silence the inner critic, and help you create from a place of freedom, not fear. From the prodigal’s robe to the authority of being seated with Christ, you’ll hear a clear path to rebuild identity and align your art with God’s heart. We start with restoration—full, generous, immediate—not a probat...

We explore a simple, relational process for creating with the Holy Spirit—one that replaces pressure with presence, anxiety with trust, and burnout with sustainable, joyful flow. We start by naming the trap many creative believers fall into: overcomplicating the process and second-guessing every nudge. From there, we share a practical framework built on five pillars. First, create by faith, not by feel...

We open Scripture and discover a remarkable blueprint in Bezalel’s story, then connect it to the quiet, unmistakable ways the Holy Spirit awakens creative calling today. If you’ve felt a steady tug to make, a rush of ideas, or a deep peace when you create, this conversation gives language and courage for that journey. We dive into the overlooked years of Jesus’ life and uncover five surprising lessons from His time as an artisan—insights that can transform your creative process, your sense of calling, and your daily life in the marketplace. We explore how formation happens through process: patience, repetition, and the humility to start again. We talk about why learning people—presence, empathy, and emotional intelligence—matters as much as...

Send a text Feeling stuck at the canvas, camera, or keyboard doesn’t mean your gift is gone. It often means you’ve been drinking from a cracked cistern—striving without connection, waiting on feelings to lead, or letting your imagination run dry. In this heartfelt, practical conversation, we walk through three proven keys that help artists break through creative block and keep it from returning: reconnecting with Jesus as the living source of creativity, creating by faith instead of mood, and...

Her journey weaves together deep faith, innovative artistry, and a commitment to fostering beauty in her community. We explore how she disc...
Send a text What if the very first way God introduces himself sets the tone for your entire creative life? We open Genesis and meet a Creator at work, and that single lens reshapes how we read Scripture, how we show up in the studio, and how we handle the mess between vision and completion. Instead of treating creativity as a side hobby, we trace how every later title—redeemer, king, shepherd—flows from a creative heart that brings form out of chaos and beauty out of dust. We walk through th...

I loved Matt's short mentoring program on Facebook and had to instantly subscribe to the podcast. I have stepped out in faith this year with my art and music and my mantra is to "keep my eyes above the waves" (thank you Hillsong UNITED). Matt's podcasts help with that! The heart of my focus must be Jesus and Matt helps merge that reality with practical applications to life and the arts. Thank you!!

My absolute favorite podcast!!! Its encouraging, uplifting, & informative! Yes, Matt Tommey and his guest speakers' teachings are geared towards Christian Artists but honestly, many artists as well as people who aren't artists could benefit a great deal from the information that is shared. I've recommended "The Thriving Christian Artist" podcasts to quite a few of my friends.
