This podcast is the third in a series about Aphantasia and is all about sound as a sensory experience in our minds.
This episode is all about visualisation, the thoughts, ideas, and the experience. We will be having discussions on all aspects of the condition sharing our thoughts and ideas. I have been joined by Laura, and Mona and together we talk and ask questions about how we visualise and share from our own perspectives. Please do get in contact to share thoughts, ideas, ask questions. I have written a book about having Aphantasia which can be found from this link :-) Aphantasia book site alan@aphantasia.co.uk
Initial thoughts on having Aphantasia and what the condition means to me, this first episode is just an introduction to this series of podcasts, for next episodes additional people will be joining me. We will be having discussions on all aspects of the condition sharing our thoughts and ideas. Please do get in contact to share thoughts, ideas, ask questions alan@aphantasia.co.uk website

I am pretty sure I have Aphantasia. I just discovered this maybe a week ago so I am still in that shock stage. But, when I read a book I don't see a movie play in my head. I have a vague understanding of what they look like but don't really retain it. I hear the words in my mind in my own voice. It blows my mind that people can replay memories like movies in their head or hear a song play in their mind. I do get earworms but it is in my own voice. I can't replay a mental sound or create a mental sound that is not my mental voice making that sound. It is very hard to describe without sounding crazy to others. Also, I love to read. But I connect emotionally to the book. If there is no emotional connection or if I am not intrigued by the content I do not like it. I feel like I could go on but I won't. I am loving this series!! 😊
