In this month's podcast we have an introduction, for the first time, to Australian Cabaret which may come as a surprise to some. We also feature regular favourites Michael Feinstein and Claire Martin as they celebrate a special event in New York this month. All this and two great jazz pianists on top form.
In this month's podcast we highlight the singer Hilary Kole, with an array of her
favourite pianists such as Dave Brubeck and Michel Legrand; but take note
also of (male) singer J. D. Walter a newish name not many.
This months podcast features some regular singers you might be familiar with like Jane Monhiet and Catherine Russell, but there are also some unfamiliar names like Yaala Ballin, Marty Elkins and Christine Tobin. We also feature a couple of pianists in The Piano Bar that are worth noting, as well as our Album of the Month is a reminder of one of the cabaret stars we should never forget.

In this months podcast we pay tribute to cabaret legend Bobby Short, the Album of the Month features all new songs written and sung by New York residents Anya Turner & Robert Grusecki and there is a October song you might not know featuring two very different styles of jazz piano.

This month's album of the month is by Elaine Delmar and called Speak Low which she recorded only last year (when she was 83!) from which I am playing two songs. Other highlights include an amazing version of the song Jeepers Creepers which you might not be aware of and Broadway star Max Von Essen is Shimmy-ing like they do in Paree and its what they call - a showstopper.
In this month's podcast we feature a brand new album from the UK jazz singer Ian Shaw. With all songs written by Duke Ellington, you can rest assured you're in for some complete gems. Some will be familiar, but there are at least two rarities that some may not expect.
We also feature the singer Mark Winkler with a song about the songwriter George Gershwin, as well as a few more surprises some may not expect.

Welcome to our first podcast of 2024. This month's podcast has a mix of songs you are bound to recognise from The Great American Songbook. The album of the month goes back some years as we pay a tribute to someone who contributed to the New York music nightlife for over 40 years and should not be forgotten.

Winner of the 2019 Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition, Samara Joy is in London this month as well as fellow American entertainer Billy Stritch at the Crazy Coqs and its a first time visit to the show from jazz vocalist J.D Walter who will be a
new name to many.
October looks like a busy/wide ranging month for cabaret/jazz here in London and New York, especially as vocal group the New York Voices are at Ronnie's and the unique Steve Ross at The Pheasantry, plus a new voice Samara Joy should have a full house at Dizzys in New York. All that plus Album of the month from an extraordinary singer Judy Niemack and two very contrasting pianists
in The Piano Bar, Fred Hirsch and Cy Walter.
This months Cabaret Room features some names which may be new to you, including Cheyanne Jackson and Georgio Mancio, plus a voice from the past Matt Dennis as well as piano jazz from the Bill Charlap Trio and a brand new album of all new songs from New York singer/songwriters Anja Turner and Robert Grusecki.
