This is a workshop that took place in Medford Oregon on the topic of Safety, Inclusivity and Diversity in AA from June of 2020. Five folks of different backgrounds deal with a number of different topics discussing their personal struggles, challenges and solutions regarding safety, inclusivity and diversity in AA. This was early days in the pandemic so zoom bombing is also a topic. NSFW - Zoom I removed all the "how to participate" discussion at the beginning (and a ton of announcements at the end) so it feels like it just jumps right in and then out at the end. I also removed a number of spots of dead air between some of the comments and speakers and marked this as NSFW simply because some of the topics might not be appropriate at some workplaces. Rick and Bob are the workshop leads, it was held in Mankato Minnesota in 2008, I dont have any other information about this workshop. The audio quality is good but there is some mike noise as each section starts, it doesnt last more than 45 seconds or so. There are some audibility issues as they do Q & A throughout the sessions but the answers make the inaudible questions fairly clear and lastly, I put a brief click track between parts. Part 1: Introduction & Step Three Part 2: Resentments (Previously posted, approx. 57 min long if you want to jump ahead) Part 3: Personal Stories & Resentments Recap. Part 4: Questions & Fear Inventory Part 5: Sex Conduct Support Sober Cast: https://sobercast.com/donate Email: sobercast@gmail.com Sober Cast has 3200+ episodes available, visit SoberCast.com to access all the episodes where you can easily find topics or specific speakers using tags or search. https://sobercast.com

This one was a bit of a bear, it is a pretty well known speak called "The Chalk Talk" it was presented many times by Father Joe and there are many versions of it around. The hard part was finding one that didnt have truly awful sound. I spent well over an hour working on this audio and I think it is quite listenable now. Father Joe got sober in 1958 at The Guest House, it was founded and operated by Austin R, who came across a copy of the Saturday Evening Post article on Alcoholics Anonymous. As a result of the article Austin R began his journey of recovery through AA, eventually opening The Guest House. Father Joe met Austin on his first day at The Guest House, he also was introduced to Dr. Walter G, himself a recovering alcoholic. Dr. G was the first to talk about the intellect and the emotion and how drugs and alcohol cause the emotions to over-rule the intellect. Father Joe deeply admired Austin and was so impressed with Dr. G's lectures, that he saved his notes and 14 years later would use them as the source of his "Chalk Talks". The occasional clicking you hear in this speak are the source of the name, as Father Joe is writing on the chalk board. No clue where or when this particular one was recorded. Im not sure why it took me so long to post anything by Father Joe, but I have well over 50 speaks by him, email me if you are interested in hearing more from him. The Joe and Charlie Big Book workshops have been popular for many years and it was one of my first posts.  I went looking for the latest version I could find and came across this one from 2013, it has great audio quality and I have combined all the files into one 12 hour workshop.  A little background on the workshops: In 1977, some AA members met in a Tulsa, Oklahoma hotel room for a discussion on The Big Book. One member asked Joe and Charlie to come to his home group to present a program on The Big Book. A taping of that presentation was made and called "The Big Book Study". Through the circulation of these audio tapes throughout the Fellowship, Joe and Charlie received invitations to present the Study at AA conventions, roundups and special events. At the AA International Convention in New Orleans in 1980, Wesley P, organized a lunch for 1,500 AA members from all over the world and gave away 100 Joe & Charlie tape sets as door prizes. Invitations exploded, and within a couple of years Joe & Charlie were presenting about 36 seminars a year worldwide. These seminars struck a deep chord within the AA members. AA founder Bill W speaking at an unknown event in Des Moines Iowa in Nov of 1948. Many of the recordings of Bill are him speaking on a specific topic, this one is not, he simply tells his story and how it leads to the creation of AA. This is a great quality recording for 1948. The female sharer is an absolute walking stereotype. shares like this are why I don't enjoy speaker meetings, just vapid grandstanding and with her, random ridiculous cackling and giggling like an airhead. waste of time, zero substance

every last one of these fools needs Al-Anon. they speak like they're preaching to the choir. you can only speak from your experience you can't tell other people how they're experience is going to go. these are some preachy preachy people.
