Celebrating Baseballs Opening Day 2026 with this week's episode. Really the only track that relates to baseball is the first one by B3 organist Joey D. The balance of the show is music I have been listening to this week. We wrap up the show with the archival release of a 1964 Duke Ellington concert.

The other recording that deserves attention is the release of guitarist Pat Metheny' Side-Eye III+. Not only did Pat's album drop this week, but he has begun a tour of the US and Europe. I'm looking forward to seeing Metheny in May as I already have my tickets.

Recently there have been several jazz artists that have made a statement to this administration for the taking over the respected Kennedy Center for the Arts. We honor them here. Jackie McLean is really a legend
💗😍
Just a tip for the host:- Keep your political views OUT of your podcast if you want people to return! 😁 Surely people come for the music on a music podcast? 🤔
Now THIS is the kind of mixtape for me to wake up to! 👍
What a dynamite mixtape my dude! Perfect for my Tuesday morning 👍
Another smooth jam! 👍
If you need to take it easy and you like jazz, I've been listening to this for a few weeks now and can't recommend it enough. It's an ideal tonic to the relentless pace of life.
This is the second week in a row I've put on a mixtape for my Monday morning; great choice! 👌
