great podcast, just a tad long, an hour fits best for commuting. Great discussion , I personally think there is too many private collectors, which will eventually lose or sell off their stuff. There should be a central archive or museum that should look after retro code. media such as tapes/cd even rom chips decay. At least a museum could digitise the code for future reference. Eg World of Spectrum FTP site does a marvelous job, Unfortunately some of the original creators of some of the games want to hang on to the copyright as much as possible.
