"We are taking down empirical Christianity." Prominent speaker at a recent Conference by the CAC—the Center for Action and Contemplation I disagree! "We are not taking down empirical Christianity; instead, we are offering an alternative for those who have ears to hear. We are offering the Story of Love." cbh Offering Not Oppositions But Alternatives I don't see my religious role as one of opposition.  I am not a warrior. I am healer. I am a theoretical individual. God has given me a different kind of theology than the one I lived for nearly four decades. I am also not a conversionist. I have no desire to convert nor to oppose. I live for hope and love and the well-being of individuals hungry for meaning and some kind of destiny. I have a destiny in service of love, along with a desire to offer alternatives of hope and love.
Show Notes  My guest today, Gina Economopoulos, currently serves as an End-of-Life doula. Gina's life path has not been straight line—that why she's on the show, haha. Show Notes  I am so interested in having a conversation today with my very special guest Monica Ocejo. The remainder of this introduction comes from a piece Monica wrote about herself… she has a way with words! She writes… Monica is a Mexican-born fashion designer, entrepreneur, and accidental philosopher who believes in the healing power of laughter, lipstick, and lime. After launching a successful fashion line and participating in Miami Fashion Week, Monica discovered her true runway was life itself. She's a breast cancer survivor, devoted mom of three, and a margarita enthusiast who isn't afraid to pair stilettos with tortillas. Monica splits her time between running a highly successful business, the Tortilla House, as wells as designing, cooking, and dodging life's unexpected salsas with grace and humor. Between Threads and Tortillas is her debut memoir and love letter to resilience, heritage, and messy, but beautiful reinvention. With that let's get Monica on the show! Show Notes I am recording this "solosode" on my 76th birthday, today Sept 16th.   As I have thought about this milestone birthday, it occurs to me that a handful of principles have guided me into a life worth living. I love being old and getting older. I think that has much to do with driving toward some kind of intentionality.  So, I want to talk today about 5 principles that continue to mark my life.  Let me know if you are inspired.

Show Notes  My two guests today are my old friend Terry Hershey and Immigration Litigator Devin Chatterton.  Much is being written and broadcast about immigrant deportations in the US. Agree or not with the policy, we cannot escape one deeply troubling truth. Our discussion today is not about policy but about the human lives impacted by such a policy. The lives of people cannot be diminished in what feels to some inhuman acts. Judge for yourself in this lively discussion.  With that, let's bring our guests on the show.  Links Please visit Terry's website HERE.

From his new book, Soulgery, (short for Soul Surgery) our guest Ahmet Bozer writes…  As external pressures mount, we instinctively look outward for relief, turning to quick fixes or external validation. Yet, in doing so, we overlook the one source of resilience always within reach: our inner self, where the ability to grow, adapt, and find fulfillment resides.   He continues…  The real challenge is sustaining this connection in a natural way and harnessing the power of our inner self to thrive. And so today Ahmet Bozer and I discuss "harnessing the power of the inner self to thrive." LINKS You can find out more about Ahmet HERE.
In his daily post, Sabbath Moment, our guest today, Terry Hershey, addresses the vital need for art and music in our lives as salves in dealing with trying political times. He helps people make informed decisions, based on their personal preferences, and the compromises they are willing to make.  I have never explored this topic on the show, even after 7 years of podcasting.  So, let's get into it…  LINKS Please visit Vasily's website to find out how to contact him for feedback HERE. Keep in mind that Vasily lives in Amsterdam. Still, contacting him may be very fruitful.
