Description

The Local Bar is a place to sit back, relax, and join the conversation with some great folks who live just down the block. Each week, we bring a positive message from people who have amazing stories to share about themselves and the people around them. Pull up a stool. First drink is on the house.

No, there was no woman to blame.   Give this one a listen.  It's important.
This week, the stars of Jimmy Buffett's "Escape to Margaritaville" come on to talk about the show, thier backgrounds, and what they enjoy the most about theater.
This week I am joined by Bryant Taylor-Marshall - actor in the upcoming "Escape to Margaritaville" at the Workshop Theater in Columbia, SC as well as part of the improv comedy group "The Mothers."  Fins up.
I don't often share crazy, obscure, rediculous ghost stories with people, but these are crazy, obscure, rediculous times.   While this deals with things that may or may not really be there, the lesson learned from this certainly exists.  Take some time and hear me out.  And then, follow the instructions at the end.   You'll thank me later.  You'll thank yourself immediately.
To celebrate the 200th episode of the show, I've decided to turn the microphone inward and have my three favorite people that have ever walked the planet interview me.   Thank you for all the years, the shows, emails, and support.  This has been an unexpected and fantastic journey.   I'm the luckiest guy you know.
This week we are joined by our good friend Billy Riot (from the podcasts Riot House Podcast, Beauty in the Breakdown) to talk about some of the things you need to check out at St. Pat's Columbia, why being genuine is important, and who exactly is Derrick Poop.
If you haven't heard about the St. Patirck's Day festival in Columbia, SC (www.stpatscolumbia.com), you need to check out the website and this interview.  There are a million reasons you should go to the festival this year.  We give you the main one.
This week we have a conversation with Chris Rhoad (aka BoatCastChris).  Chris is the creator and one of the host of The BoatCast Podcast - one of the top music interview podcast going today.
Sometimes I feel like it takes me so long to get some people I know to be on the show.  This is a time that I waited too long.  Tom Hall was someone you should have known, and he probably had an impact on your life, even if you didn't (certainly if you listen to this show).   Here's to you, Tom.
This week, resident musician of the Local Bar Podcast Don Merckle stops by to talk about almost anything but music.
We jump off the new year with a visit from our old friend, brother in podcasting, arch enemy in fantasy football, and master story teller Hank Thorpe to discuss marriage, internet dating, and what a group of friends should look like.
Every day has the chance for you to find out something amazing.  It just depends on if you make room for it or not.   This show is an example of how it can happen in the strangest places at the saddest times.
The second part of our interview with Ray Jennings.
This week, we sit down with Ray Jennings - the man who was falsely convited of murder and had his life on display in the NBC podcast series "The Girl in the Blue Mustang", along with two shows on Dateline.  We talk about life, not knowing where your life was going, and not knowing if you would ever have one again.
This week, we are joined by fellow Rock Boater, Free Bird playing, cool guy Brian Petersson as we discuss music, rediculous ideas, and the ties that bind.
Alright.  Here we go.     Thoughts, prayers, and hate mail can go to chad@localbarmedia.com.
Join us this week as we discuss the passing of two people who have had a great impact on our world.  Once famous, one not, but both lived in a way that is terribly important to point out.
This week we share a story that we never get the time to tell.  However, the lessons that are woven into it are some of the most important that we could ever share.  The embellishments have been stripped out (to a minimum) and old wounds laid bare.   I hope you get something out of this.  If you do, please pass it along to someone else who might as well.  If you struggle with thoughts of suicide, please get help by calling 1.800.273.8255.
This week we sit down with Wayne Cousins to talk about being funny, handling problematic people, and the importanct of getting stiffed for an award.
This week we are joined by singer/songwiter Hayes Carll to talk about his music, the industry, and the secret to being so successfull.  Alright, maybe he didn't really talk about that last part, but I did.
