I sat down this past week with one of my dear friends and trumpeter, Ryan Montano. We spoke about all things songwriting, and the experience of getting your music out into the world. Music Enthusiast, Writer, and blogger- Mel Minter has been an active voice for the music community at large across the state of New Mexico (and for national & international artists as well) for decades. We sat down at his home in Corrales, NM recently to discuss his early life as a music lover, getting into writing and reviewing albums for various musicians and how he ended up in New Mexico. Mel currently runs his own music blog called, Musically Speaking, where he reviews artists albums, and gets the word out on big shows coming up. He also still has his monthly article in Albuquerque The Magazine, Tiempo.

Bassist, Composer and Bandleader Noah Young released his second album Splinter March 22nd through Bubble Bath Records. Trombonist, Percussionist, and Singer Cesar Bauvallet originally hails from Cuba, but has been a staple of the Albuquerque Latin Music scene for the past 26 years. He founded and has led up one of the most successful salsa bands in town, Son Como Son. We sat down to discuss the conception of the band, and some of Cesar's perspectives on music! Micky Patten is a bassist, guitarist, and former business owner of Grandma's Music & Sound. We sit down to discuss what it took to run a music shop, and what life has been like since retiring, and focusing on playing bass.   

Paul Ingles is an award-winning radio producer, reporter, audio engineer, oral historian, consultant, actor & filmmaker. We sat down to talk about his life's work from his start in broadcasting, his work producing music documentary series on many musical artists, working for NPR and into his move to Albuquerque. He produced a music series titled, Jazz Of Enchantment, which we speak about in depth. Drummer and radio personality John Trentacosta sits down at the drums to perform three songs, and share a glimpse of his life story. How it was growing up playing drums in New York, to how he ended up in New Mexico, and eventually doing his own radio show.  We also discuss his most current musical project with saxophonist, Doug Lawrence.
