It’s time once more dear friends to join our fellowship of um…fellows, as they traipse into the highly politicized town of New Jacksonburg, and its nearby putrid Swamp-town Stinkburg (or whatever it was called). Will Balsa Basswood answer for his many crimes? Can trees be resurrected? All the definitive and most scientific answers are here, ready for your consumption!
Well howdy there y’all. We’re back once again with the exciting conclusion to last week’s roleplaying session. Will the party escape the ghostly apparition of the Checkered Knight? Will that knight whose name I can’t spell be brought to justice? Well all those answers and more are waiting for you when you press play on this baby.
Everyone’s favorite adventurers are back. Well not all of them, but most of them! Oh, your only favorite was Balsa Basswood? Well…hmmmm… Come listen anyway as a quest to find the lovable cabinet maker quickly goes south. There’s murder, ghosts, and world class espionage all just waiting for your meaty ear holes.
We’re back to business as usual this week. Well…sort of. It sounds like a lot of you enjoyed our deviation in subject matter last episode, and we have every intention of returning to our ongoing roleplaying adventures. But this week presents us with the rare opportunity to talk about a game all the participants have played. So if you’d like to hear a little bit about Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, then buckle on up.
I’ll be candid and just say that after 228 episodes of this podcast, I recently found myself in pretty dire need of a change of pace. If you’re a longtime listener perhaps you feel the same way. Long story short, I’ve talked our gang into trying something new. This week we’re deviating from our normal fare to present you with something completely unrelated to video games. You know maybe it’s easier if you just listen for yourself. Like what you hear? Let us know. Hate everything about this change? That would be good info too. Will this be what we do from now on? Probably not, but also maybe? I don’t know, nobody really knows, let’s just buckle in and see what happens.
Well hello there, it’s been a little bit since we’ve seen each other. How have you been? Oh we’ve been very well, just playing a little bit of Apex Legends, Wargroove, and Shantae. Oh but then there is Jay who has also had the colossal misfortune of playing Kingdom Hearts 3…. Sometimes no news is good news.
Our game of the year coverage is still somewhat in the air but that doesn’t stop the Enemy Slime Podcast from returning in the new year of our lord 2019. In this episode we speculate about some games on the horizon. What Metacritic score will Death Stranding get if it ever comes out? Lucio has some ideas.
Do you like dancing? Would you pay 90 dollars to dance as your favorite sexy anime teen? Well Jay will happily tell you why you shouldn’t do that. Or should? I don’t know man, do whatever feels right.
Well we’ve been off for a few weeks and have something of  a backlog of games to potentially talk about. What did we do instead? Spent all our time talking about furries and the horrifying new Sonic The Hedgehog movie. Bon Appetit!
Honestly if Blizzard hadn’t messed up in one of the most profound ways imaginable I probably wouldn’t have even known that Blizzcon happened. And I certainly wouldn’t have planned on having a podcast that’s almost entirely devoted to it. But here we are. Do you have a phone? Blizzard needs to know. Would you like to play Diablo on said phone? Well…that’s not the answer they were hoping for…
It’s a…well not particularly spooky podcast this week in spite of it being Halloween. We spend a healthy amount of time reminiscing on trick or treating as kids and wondering where society went so deeply and profoundly wrong. Speaking of deeply and profoundly wrong, wait til you hear Jay’s thoughts on Red Dead Redemption 2! Ha, just kidding folks, it’s all in good fun here at Enemy Slime. Man writing these descriptions really lets you say whatever you want. I wonder if anyone even reads these anymore? Jay will certainly never notice.
Rockstar caused quite a ruckus in the last couple weeks when Dan Houser mistakenly mentioned how hard the company was working to get Red Dead Redemption 2 pushed out the door. So this week we spend a little time examining the ever-derided concept of crunch time in the games industry. Can you make a great game without it? Sure. So why do so many companies struggle to figure out how?
Ah the joys of fall. Good games are on the release by the week and this week both Jay and Lucio have spent some time with some promising titles. Lucio tells us a little about the Fist Of The North Star / Yakuza crossover. Though we’ve discussed the game before this is the first time anyone’s had the opportunity to play it in English. Meanwhile Jay is exploring Greece in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.
Great news everyone! Telltale Games went out of business! I mean, it’s not great news for the hundreds of people they fired without severance or benefits. That parts a bummer, but focusing on that detail really undermines the really important thing: we were right! For years we’ve been saying Telltale’s product was inferior and their over-zealousness to pick up new licenses was unwise from a business position, but now, now we can really sit and wallow in just how right we were. Come, come gather round and bask in our ridiculously warm sense of self satisfaction. Oh and a Tomb Raider game came out or something lame like that.

Spider-Man is here! You’re playing it, everyone on your Playstation friends list is playing it. Or maybe you don’t have a Playstation and you’re just fuming about how you can’t play it. Well if you want to live vicariously through us now’s your chance to listen to what we think of it. Also, Michael preserves some true video game history by installing the Shenmue remaster into his memory.
There’s a deluge of game releases right around the corner, so there’s a chance this is our last podcast for a little while where we can just shoot the breeze. And boy what a breeze it is, we cover everything from donating to charities, to adopting senior pets, to that mysterious man at the “store” who sends your grandparents home with games other than the ones you asked for. Oh Jay played Phantom Doctrine too, so that happened.

Maps, hobo nickels, the Iranian revolution. We’ve got a lot to unpack on this week’s remarkably off-topic podcast. How do you connect Argentina to Star Wars? It’s easier than you think. Come do some mental gymnastics with us on this exciting episode. Oh we played Graveyard Keeper too..

We’re back from a brief hiatus this week and ready to talk about all the latest games, and…wait…what’s this? There actually are games? Yes that’s right folks, summer is starting to wrap up and the deluge of fall titles is nearly upon us. This week Jay blows his allowance on We Happy Few, while Jared makes an equally precarious purchase in the form of the latest season of The Walking Dead. Michael’s here, and even had a game to talk about…but uh…well you’ll see…
We are back after taking a week off for an imaginary holiday that only one of the 49 states celebrates. Lucio returns, having spent his non-holiday time playing some games that actually came out within the last calendar year. Jared meanwhile finally clears out some of his old backlog and actually gets around to taking care of the lovable (and enraging) animal in The Last Guardian.
