It's Tuesday afternoon, and there's a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio set, which means the boys were back in the studio to recap the week that was. On today's episode, the guys discussed the Connor Murphy trade with Chicago, the Oilers' goal troubles, previewed Tuesday's matchup against the Senators, and much more.We kicked off the Tuesday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about how many other trades Stan Bowman can get done between now and Friday's trade deadline. While the Oilers may not have a ton of cap space available, the Connor Murphy trade showed that Bowman can get creative when it comes to moving his money around, and he'll need to do more of that in the coming days if he plans to find further upgrades.Changing gears, the guys looked at some of the news and transactions that have happened over the last week, including Andrew Mangiapane and Alec Regula clearing waivers. Seeing the Bread Man go through waivers is an unbelievable plot twist on what has been a rough go between the player and organization, and it will be fascinating to see what/if anything happens with him over the coming days. The guys also discussed the Oilers' dreadful run of defensive play over the last couple of games and wondered how much our new Connor can help stop the bleeding. Finally, we wrapped up the episode of ONR with another round of Baggedmilk's Trivia. With none of the other boys coming up with anything new, the guys went back to old faithful with a round of Senators-related Baggedmilk Trivia questions. Think you know your Oilers vs. Senators history? This round of trivia was for you. Did the quizmaster have to step in? Did Baggedmilk get his questions right? You'll have to listen to find out for sure.SHOUTOUT TO OUR SPONSORS!! 🙌👍🏼Powered by @bet365 – Whatever the moment, it’s Never Ordinary at bet365. Olympic heartbreak, goaltending pressure, and the Oilers’ search for consistency — it’s all on this week’s episode of Ask Dubey. In this post-Olympic edition, Dubey opens with his thoughts on Canada’s loss in the gold medal game. From running into Connor Hellebuyck to the coin-flip nature of three-on-three overtime, he breaks down what went wrong — and why the lack of secondary scoring was the biggest surprise. Despite the disappointment, Dubey explains why Canada still played a dominant game and why Jordan Binnington did exactly what he was brought there to do.From there, it’s classic Ask Dubey, diving into your questions about the Oilers’ goaltending situation and the rest of the NHL season. This week’s topics include:• Why some goalies thrive after leaving Edmonton• Whether a reunion with Stuart Skinner is realistic• The pressure of playing net in a market like Edmonton• What a “successful” remainder of the season looks like for the Oilers goalies• The importance of timely saves vs. highlight-reel stops• Why consistency has been missing compared to past seasons• And whether this team just needs one big heater to feel dominant againDubey gives honest insight into the mental side of goaltending, how narratives build in Canadian markets, and why sometimes a change of scenery is exactly what a player needs. As always, drop your questions using #AskDubey on Oilersnation social channels or in the comments below.SHOUTOUT TO OUR SPONSORS!!👍🏼Powered by @bet365. It's Friday afternoon, which means a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio is ready to massage your eardrums with an hour of off-season Oilers talk. On today's podcast, the fellas discussed the Oilers' post-Olympic return, Connor McDavid's latest 100-point season, the NHL Trade Deadline, line combinations, trade targets, and more.We kicked off the Friday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about whether Thursday's 8-1 win over L.A. helped everyone get over the 6-5 loss to the Ducks the night before. Aside from Rick feeling fine about both results, the rest of the boys were notably upset about the blown opportunity against Anaheim. That said, the Oilers are so inconsistent right now that it's hard to imagine how back-to-back games could end so differently. Shifting gears, the guys looked at Tristan Jarry's struggles between the pipes and how his first couple of months as an Oiler have been anything but uplifting. That led to a conversation about how Kris Knoblauch should handle his goaltending rotation. Should the Oilers lean on Connor Ingram in the short term as the starter while Jarry works his way back up to form? We also ran through some of the Edmonton-related rumours heading into the trade deadline and whether any names tied to the Oilers might make sense. Finally, we wrapped up the Friday episode of ONR with another round of Ask the Idiots, betting talk for our friends at bet365, and Hot and Cold Performers to look back on the week that was. With the 2025-26 season entering the stretch drive, the guys spent the bulk of the podcast moving through a range of topics, some related to the Oilers and others not, but that’s the way things go on the Friday episode of ONR.00:00: Start3:00: delicious debate5:30: I didn’t get too down/didn’t get too up7:00: Jarry hasn’t been good since injury 9:00: new team post olympics11:30: Jarry pull14:00 How do you treat the goalies21:00 Oilers got depth scoring22:45: Mang looks better26:30: Tenable 31:00: Rico needs to be better38:30 What to do with Nurse47:00 Betting talk51:00 ask the idiots52:00: favourite show as a child55:45: boldest TDL take57:00: Coffeys Focus48:30: ONR impersonation’s1:00:00 Hot/Cold performers SHOUTOUT TO OUR SPONSORS!! 🙌👍🏼Powered by @bet365 – Whatever the moment, it’s Never Ordinary at bet365. It's Tuesday afternoon, and there's a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio set, which means the boys were back in the studio to recap the week that was. On today's episode, the guys discussed Team Canada vs. Team Czechia, Connor McDavid's success at the games, the State of the Nation survey results, and much more.We kicked off the Tuesday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about the Winter Games and what everyone's biggest takeaway was for Canada. Given that the standard in Canada for hockey is gold or bust, it's hard not to be disappointed with how things ended, especially given how dominant our boys were despite the loss. Either way, any excuses the fellas could come up with were all punctuated with the fact that the team lost the most important game of the tournament.Changing gears, we looked ahead to the Oilers' first game back in their stretch drive and how these three games in California could end up among the most important of the year. Given that these are three Pacific Division opponents, finding ways to get points from those them is crucial for setting them up down the stretch. From there, the boys spoke about Brett Kulak being traded from Pittsburgh to Colorado, and how Kyle Dubas just keeps adding assets to his arsenal for whenever they decide to rebuild. Finally, we wrapped up the episode of ONR with another round of Liam's Tenable game. With none of the other boys coming up with anything new, the guys went for another round of Liam's grouping game. Think you know how all of these topics fit together and where they rank? Props to Liam for coming up with a game, as the usual quizmaster didn't have the time to get one done for today. Did the quizmaster have to step in? Did Baggedmilk get his questions right? Canada survives in absolute chaos, Olympic pressure is peaking, and the big-save conversation just got louderOn this week’s episode of Ask Dubey: Olympic Edition, former NHL goaltender Devan Dubnyk kicks things off by breaking down Canada’s dramatic overtime win over Czechia. From dominating possession but struggling to extend the lead, to the controversial missed six-men moment, Dubey explains why international hockey can flip in a single shift. The spotlight quickly turns to the position everyone loves to debate: goaltending.Dubey gives credit to Jordan Binnington for doing exactly what you need in these tournaments — making the right save at the right time — including a breakaway stop late in the third and a massive overtime save that set up Mitch Marner for the winner. From there, it’s classic Ask Dubey, answering listener questions on:• What “battling” really means when a goalie’s team looks chaotic• Whether you can tell in the first five minutes if your defense doesn’t have it• If goalies adjust technically when things feel off• Whether the Edmonton Oilers need a major trade deadline shakeup• Why a blockbuster move is unlikely — and why secondary scoring matters more• The pressure and expectations of representing Team Canada internationally• And how difficult it is for Olympic players (and non-Olympic players) to reset before the NHL stretch runThe episode wraps with Dubey reflecting on the unique mental challenge of playing for Canada — where gold is the expectation and anything less feels like failure — and what it really takes to handle that pressure in net.Drop your questions using #AskDubey in the comments or on social — and hopefully next week we’re breaking down a Canadian gold medal.SHOUTOUT TO OUR SPONSORS!!👍🏼Powered by @bet365. It's Friday afternoon, which means a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio is ready to massage your eardrums with an hour of off-season Oilers talk. On today's podcast, the fellas discussed Team Canada going to the gold medal game, Connor McDavid's new record, line combinations, trade targets, and more.We kicked off the Friday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about Team Canada's two tight wins in the elimination games and whether facing that adversity will help them in the gold medal game. Given that the team has needed consecutive comebacks to beat Czechia and Finland, the boys wondered if grinding through those two games would better prepare them for what's to come on Sunday morning.Shifting gears, the guys looked at Team Canada's comeback win over Finland after the boys fell 2-0 early in the game, forcing a wild comeback over the final half. Starting with Connor McDavid setting an Olympic record with NHLers in the mix, it's been incredibly to watch No. 97 do his thing at such a high level. Even so, there was still controversy about the late penalty on Nathan MacKinnon that ultimately ended the game for Canada. Finally, we wrapped up the Friday episode of ONR with another round of Ask the Idiots, betting talk for our friends at bet365, and Hot and Cold Performers to look back on the week that was. It's Tuesday afternoon, and there's a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio set, which means the boys were back in the studio to recap the week that was. On today's episode, the guys discussed Team Canada vs. Team Czechia, Connor McDavid's success at the games, the State of the Nation survey results, and much more.We kicked off the Tuesday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about the State of the Nation poll and the results from what Nation Citizens are thinking about the team this year. As you'll hear, nearly 80% of Nation Citizens feel there is a problem with the coaching staff, which has led to a discussion about whether the men behind the bench are the problem. As you'll hear, the boys all acknowledge the issues with the coaching staff, but none of them necessarily think a change is coming.Changing gears, we looked ahead to Team Canada vs. Team Czechia in the quarter-final, and how our boys are heavily favoured against a team they faced just a few days ago. While the road to the semis looks good, the reality is that Canada can't take Czechia lightly despite being a much better team on paper (and on the ice). Sticking with the Winter Games, we did a throwback to Friday's episode of ONR where the boys discussed the Canadian curling controversy and offered an update on what's happened in the days since. Finally, we wrapped up the episode of ONR with another round of Baggedmilk's Trivia. Team Canada is rolling, Olympic hockey is officially underway, and the goalie conversations are already heating up.On this week’s episode of Ask Dubey, Dubey kicks things off with thoughts on Canada’s dominant win over Czechia, including a look at the power play, early chemistry, and the stars doing what stars do — from Connor McDavid to Sidney Crosby. But the real spotlight quickly turns to the position everyone loves to debate: goaltending.Dubey breaks down how John Cooper perfectly handled the goalie conversation, why comparing today’s goalies to legends of the past isn’t fair, and why confidence — not panic — is the right approach for Team Canada moving forward. From there, it’s classic Ask Dubey, answering listener questions on:• Why the first goalie off the ice is the starter• Whether coaches ever try to “hide” their starting goalie• If the Oilers could realistically make another goalie trade• Why rushing young goalies into a Stanley Cup expectation is dangerous• Giving Tristan Jarry time to settle in after a major trade• How breaks can help goalies reset mentally and personally• And the importance of patience with goalie tandemsThe episode wraps with a fun, old-school hockey story as Dubey shares one of his favourite routines (not superstitions 😏) from his playing days — featuring a scale, a water bottle, and a nickname that got way out of hand.Drop your questions using #AskDubey in the comments or on social — and don’t worry, Dubey’s already thinking of more stories for next week.⏱️ Timestamps / Chapters00:00 – Team Canada Olympic talk begins00:25 – Canada’s win over Czechia & power play breakdown00:47 – Early tournament expectations01:06 – John Cooper on Canada’s goaltending01:49 – Comparing modern goalies to legends02:31 – Why confidence matters more than noise02:50 – Why the first goalie off the ice is the starter04:29 – Oilers goalie trade panic (or lack thereof)06:09 – Why a blockbuster goalie trade is unlikely06:58 – Should the Oilers bring up young goalies?07:45 – Giving Jarry time after a major trade08:27 – Why breaks help goalies reset09:40 – Why this tandem can still work10:05 – Hockey routines vs superstitions10:41 – “Steel sex appeal” story12:09 – How it got wildly out of control12:51 – Submitting questions for next weekDrop your questions for future episodes using #AskDubey or leave them in the comments below 👇SHOUTOUT TO OUR SPONSORS!!👍🏼Powered by @bet365. It's Friday afternoon, which means a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio is ready to massage your eardrums with an hour of off-season Oilers talk. On today's podcast, the fellas discussed the Oilers at the Winter Games, Connor McDavid's debut, line combinations, Calvin Pickard's treatment, and more.We kicked off the Friday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about Calvin Pickard getting waived unfairly after his agent spoke to Jason Gregor and suggested the team didn't make the right decision. If you take Rich Winter at his word, Stan Bowman isn't even sure that Pickard isn't the best goalie he has right now, but does that really make sense given the team's decision? The numbers would suggest not.Shifting gears, the guys looked at Team Canada's first couple of games on the men's side and how much fun it's been to watch NHLers back on the ice representing their country. From the way Team Canada blew out Czechia in their first game to the way they're handling Switzerland today, getting to watch the best of the best squaring off for their countries is so much fun. The guys also spoke about Sidney Crosby as an elder statesmen on the team, and how Baggedmilk wishes Connor McDavid could be tethered to him for the three weeks they're away. Finally, we wrapped up the Friday episode of ONR with another round of Ask the Idiots, betting talk for our friends at bet365, and Hot and Cold Performers to look back on the week that was. Oilers trade rumours and Baggedmilk's Olympic triviaIt's Tuesday afternoon, and there's a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio set, which means the boys were back in the studio to recap the week that was. On today's episode, the guys discussed the Oilers at the Olympics, Team Canada's line combinations, a potential trade idea for Andrew Mangiapane, and much more.We kicked off the Tuesday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about the L.A. Dodgers and how the odds for them to win the NL West in the MLB are so heavily skewed that it almost doesn't make sense to bet on. That led to a similar conversation about whether Canada vs. USA is a lock to meet in the men's finals, and whether being the two best teams in the tournament on paper means this will be the matchup. Changing gears, we looked at the line combinations for Team Canada on the men's side. Given that Team Canada is pretty close to icing an all-star team, it was fun to hear the boys' thoughts on who will be playing where. They also looked at the advanced betting lines ahead of Thursday's game against Czechia and how everyone thinks the team will fare despite the different style of hockey played in international tournaments. Finally, we wrapped up the episode of ONR with another round of Baggedmilk's Trivia. Ask Dubey is back for episode 32!Before diving into your Oilers questions, Dubey reacts to the wild Stadium Series matchup between the Lightning and Bruins — including an old-school goalie fight at center ice between Jeremy Swayman and Andrei Vasilevskiy. A rare sight, even rarer that both goalies stayed in the game. Dubey breaks down why moments like that fire everyone up, and why goalie fights are still such a tricky situation in today’s NHL.From there, it’s straight into your questions. Who’s really to blame in a blowout — the goalie or the team in front of him? Can players mentally drift with the Olympics right around the corner? And of course, the big one Oilers fans are debating right now: did Edmonton make a mistake trading for Tristan Jarry?Dubey gives a calm, honest breakdown of the Oilers’ goaltending situation, why the Skinner change needed to happen, and why fans shouldn’t be riding the emotional roller coaster on a game-to-game basis. Perspective, context, and goalie logic — all in one episode.Drop your questions for future episodes using #AskDubey in the comments or on any OilersNation social platform.0:00 – Stadium Series chaos & goalie fight reaction2:40 – Who’s really responsible for blowout losses?5:23 – Do players mentally check out before the Olympics?7:55 – Did the Oilers make a mistake trading for Jarry?12:01 – Final thoughts & how to submit your questionsDrop your questions for future episodes using #AskDubey or leave them in the comments below 👇SHOUTOUT TO OUR SPONSORS!!👍🏼Powered by @bet365. It's Friday afternoon, which means a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio is ready to massage your eardrums with an hour of off-season Oilers talk. On today's podcast, the fellas discussed the Oilers' disastrous wrap to their pre-Olympic schedule, Leon Draisaitl's coaching comments, line combos, and more. We kicked off the Friday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about the Paul Coffey rumours after some rumblings came over the last handful of days that the Oilers could be considering bringing the Hall of Famer back behind the bench. Given how successful the defence was under Coffey's tenure, the boys on the podcast all believe it would make perfect sense to bring him back and see if he can work magic again.Shifting gears, the guys looked at the Oilers' horrible finish before the break and how incredibly frustrating it was to watch them finally land their first three-game win streak of the season, only to give those games right back immediately. That led the boys to wonder if there are more coaching issues than just what's happening on defence. We also discussed the losses to Toronto and Calgary and how frustrating both results were, given Edmonton's opportunity to pick up points against struggling teams. Finally, we wrapped up the Friday episode of ONR with another round of Ask the Idiots, betting talk for our friends at bet365, and Hot and Cold Performers to look back on the week that was. If you look at the six games played against Colorado, Dallas, and Minnesota, the Oilers earned only a single point out of a possible 12. As you'll hear, some of the boys are more concerned about the trend than others, but the reality is that the numbers are the numbers, and right now they're not very good.Changing gears, we looked at Connor McDavid's Players' Tribune article and noted that the title "Dear Canada" could have been a love letter to Edmonton. Turning back to the Oilers, we looked at Calvin Pickard clearing waivers this week, and what that means for the team's goaltending depth going forward. Ask Dubey Episode 31 is here, and there’s a LOT to get into — from historic Oilers defencemen performances to big-picture questions about goaltending, free agents, and life in Edmonton.Dubey kicks things off by showing love to the Oilers’ blue line after back-to-back hat tricks from defencemen (yes, really), breaking down Evan Bouchard’s Bouch Bombs and Mattias Ekholm’s unreal highlight-reel goals. If the Oilers can get even half of this kind of production from the back end consistently, it could be a massive boost heading toward playoff time. From there, Dubey answers your questions, including:• Has Jarry officially earned the Oilers’ starting job?• Where does Edmonton’s goaltending duo rank across the NHL?• How valuable is having a true goalie tandem in an Olympic, condensed schedule year?• Has Edmonton become a more desirable destination for free agents?• How different is the city now compared to Dubey’s playing days?We also get some great storytelling as Dubey shares his most memorable moments as an Oiler, including his NHL debut in Vancouver, a wild win in LA that helped earn a one-way contract, and getting the opening-night start against Pittsburgh. As always, this episode is packed with insight, honesty, and a few laughs along the way.Drop your questions for future episodes using #AskDubey or leave them in the comments below 👇SHOUTOUT TO OUR SPONSORS!!👍🏼Powered by @bet365. On today's podcast, the fellas discussed the Oilers' win over the Sharks, the Bobby McMann trade rumours, Connor McDavid's heater, line combos, and more. We kicked off the Friday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about the Oilers' bottom six and how Kris Knoblauch can get more out of those players even though they're playing limited minutes. From finding roles for players who don't play much to stripping back the minutes for McDavid and Draisaitl, the boys offered their take on what the coaching staff can do to get more guys involved. On the other hand, is this even a problem?Shifting gears, the guys looked at last night's win over the San Jose Sharks and how the Oilers pulled off a third-period miracle to win their third game in a row. Starting with Kris Knoblauch pulling the goalie with four minutes left, the guys talked about where they were and how they felt when they saw the Oilers throw up the Hail Mary. From there, they spoke about Macklin Celebrini trying to wave off Mattias Ekholm's Finally, we wrapped up the Friday episode of ONR with another round of Ask the Idiots, betting talk for our friends at bet365, and Hot and Cold Performers to look back on the week that was. It's Tuesday afternoon, and there's a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio set, which means the boys were back in the studio to recap the week that was. On today's episode, the guys discussed the Oilers' record-setting run by defencemen, Josh Samanski's NHL debut, and much more.We kicked off the Tuesday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about Josh Samanski's NHL debut, and how everyone thought the undrafted centre fared in his first game as an Oiler. While he played only 7:43 in TOI, Samanski was noticeable in his first game in the bigs, and the boys spent a few minutes talking about how he didn't look out of place. Given that he played two years of pro hockey in Germany, it definitely looked like he was comfortable playing in that third-line role.Changing gears, we looked at how the Oilers set two NHL records in Monday's game against the Ducks. Starting with the four goals by defencemen in a span of only 3:49, it was wild to see Edmonton's d-men getting into the rush with that much space as often as they were. From there, we looked at the back-to-back hat tricks by Evan Bouchard and Mattias Ekholm, and how it was the first time in NHL history where two defencemen scored hat tricks in consecutive games. Finally, we wrapped up the episode of ONR with another round of Baggedmilk's Trivia. With none of the other boys coming up with anything new, the guys went back to old faithful with a round of Devils-related Baggedmilk Trivia questions. Think you know your San Jose Sharks history? This game was for you. Did the quizmaster have to step in? Did Baggedmilk get his questions right? You'll have to listen to find out for sure. Hosted on Acast. Ask Dubey is back, and Episode 28 dives into elite goaltending, goalie development, and some big-picture questions around the Edmonton Oilers’ crease.Devan Dubnyk kicks things off by breaking down Tristan Jarry’s unreal highlight-reel save, why athletic “street hockey” moments still matter for goalies, and what makes that play so special from a goalie’s perspective. From there, Dubey tackles fan questions ranging from rebound control and goalie pad technology to the state of Canadian goaltending and what the Oilers should do with their goalie situation when everyone is healthy. In this episode of Ask Dubey, Devan breaks down:• Why Tristan Jarry’s save against New Jersey was so impressive — and how it compares to saves Dubey made in his own career• The idea behind modern goalie pads, rebounds, and whether big rebounds are actually a problem• Why elite goaltending pipelines seem to be shifting away from Canada• The differences in goalie development between Canada, Europe, and the U.S.• What the Edmonton Oilers should do with their goalies at full health• Why carrying three goalies could actually benefit Edmonton down the stretchIf you’re a goalie, a die-hard Oilers fan, or someone who loves the details behind how the position is evolving, this episode is for you.Have a question you want Devan Dubnyk to answer on a future episode? It's Friday afternoon, which means a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio is ready to massage your eardrums with an hour of off-season Oilers talk. On today's podcast, the fellas discussed the Oilers' loss to the Islanders, the end of Connor McDavid's point streak, Edmonton's goaltending dilemma, line combos, and more. We kicked off the Friday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about whether or not the Oilers are blowing their January homestand. Given that they've lost twice as many home games as they've won, it's hard not to think that Edmonton is dropping the ball on a golden opportunity to make up some ground in the standings. Shifting gears, the guys looked at last night's loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins and wondered how much of that loss the boys hung on Tristan Jarry, given that he allowed six goals on the night. While no one is saying Jarry was very good, the reality is that the skaters in front of him were just as bad, if not worse. We also discussed Leon Draisaitl's return to the lineup, and how it was a valiant effort by Drai, considering the heavy week he had and the long travel back from Germany. Finally, we wrapped up the Friday episode of ONR with another round of Ask the Idiots, betting talk for our friends at bet365, and Hot and Cold Performers to look back on the week that was. With the 2025-26 season stretch drive well underway, the guys spent the bulk of the podcast moving through a range of topics, some related to the Oilers and others not, but that’s the way things go on the Friday episode of ONR. It's Tuesday afternoon, and there's a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio set, which means the boys were back in the studio to recap the week that was. On today's episode, the guys discussed Ryan Nugent-Hopkins' 1000th game, back-to-back shutouts, Kasperi Kapanen's injury, and much more.We kicked off the Tuesday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about when the Oilers might consider talking to Connor Ingram about an extension. Given that our new friend has been playing incredibly well since his recall from Bakersfield, it's fair to wonder whether or when the organization might start thinking about keeping him around for a while. Is it too soon? How much would the boys be willing to offer the goalie in a new contract?Changing gears, we looked at Ryan Nugent-Hopkins' 1000th game that happened at Rogers Place on Thursday night, and how the team did a fantastic job paying tribute to their longest serving player. From the pre-game ceremony to scoring the eventual game winner, it was a wonderful night at Rogers Place and one the guys were thrilled to discuss. Changing gears, the boys looked at the Andrew Mangiapane situation and whether or not there's any way the Oilers can save the relationship. Is that even in the cards? Finally, we wrapped up the episode of ONR with another round of Baggedmilk's Trivia. With none of the other boys coming up with anything new, the guys went back to old faithful with a round of Devils-related Baggedmilk Trivia questions. Think you know your New Jersey history? This game was for you. Did the quizmaster have to step in? Did Baggedmilk get his questions right? You'll have to listen to find out for sure.  Hosted on Acast.
