This episode covers the incredible true story of 3 Dutch girls who worked with the Dutch resistance. Freddie & Truus Oversteegen and Hannie Schaft did a lot for the cause, including killing nazis, but for decades their stories were practically erased because of their ties to the Dutch Communist Party. SS Ourang Medan

SS Ourang Medan

2019-09-1021:14

What happened to the unregistered naval vessel known as the SS Ourang Medan? Rescues followed distress calls to a ship littered with dead bodies, decaying rapidly with images of horror frozen on their faces. What could have caused this and where did initial investigations lead? The Goatman

We are back with a new episode about the online legend...The Goatman. In this episode, we read the classic creepypasta "Anansi's Goatman" and then discuss our thoughts about it and about creepypastas in general. If you like this sort of thing, let us know at our instagram or twitter @tomandemir or at facebook.com/conspiracyclub. Roanoke: The Lost Colony

Roanoke: The Lost Colony

2019-08-2001:00:49

Not once, not twice, but three times people left at the budding Roanoke Colony disappeared mysteriously. Was it attacks from the native populations or perhaps from their rival colonizers, the Spanish? What remained at Roanoke was practically nothing, save for a skeleton and some strange writing on trees. Between the privateering, senseless attacks against the native populations, and terrifying storms, the investigations into the lost colony were delayed decades...and were never really completed at the time. Now, historians have found next to no archaelogical evidence pointing to the end of the colony. So...what happened? What could possibly go wrong when you put a bunch of drunk, drugged up, testosterone-filled professional wrestlers on their own private 747? Nothing good.  Does someone get peed on? Almost. Is it all that funny? Definitely not. The infamous plane ride would lead to multiple firings, court cases, and ponytails getting cut off, and featured the likes of Ric Flair and Brock Lesnar. So, what exactly happened and how was it not a bigger story? New World Order

New World Order

2019-08-0659:09

In this episode, we talk about the grandfather of all conspiracy theories. The one upon which so many others are founded, the New World Order. A shadowy one-world organization that puppets nations from the darkness. How will it be implemented and is it already here? Listen and find out.  Credits: - Thanks to Ross Bugden for our theme song, "Something Wicked" (https://www.youtube.com/@RossBugden) --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/conspiracyclub/support
This episode is about a time-traveling television set used by the Catholics in the fifties. Not only could you allegedly view historic events (like the crucifixion), but you could view the future. This secret Catholic science experiment remained locked in the Vatican archives for only few trusted eyes to use, before it was destroyed....or was it? Alien Abduction

Alien Abduction

2019-07-2301:50:57

In this super long episode, we talk about the two earliest and most prominent cases of alien abduction: Antonio Villas-Boas and The Hills. Betty and Barney Hill are celebrities of the UFO community and arguably kicked off the more popular UFO craze in the United States, with an incomparably detailed story of their abduction which involves strange dreams, disembodied eyes, and hypnotic recollection. They no doubt would have rushed Area 51 in September if they were still around. Both stories are truly insane, but are they true? Listen for yourself, to this episode which includes collected accounts from Betty Hill herself. If you're looking for someone to skyrocket your chances of completing your six degrees of Kevin Bacon, Christa Helm will really help. She was involved with people like Warren Beatty, Joe Namath, and the Shah of Iran. She was a professional party-thrower, practically famous for being famous. What also may have helped Christa stay famous...as well as lead to her death, was her little black book rating her sexual partners, other members of the hollywood elite. On top of that, she secretly recorded her encounters. Was it the proposed tell-all that lead to her demise? Why didn't the police investigate the more obvious characters...and why did the regular gossip magazines ignore her brutal murder entirely? Listen to this episode, where we explore the life and tragic death of Christa Helm and try to answer some of the strange questions surrounding both. Ghost Stories, Part One

Ghost Stories, Part One

2019-07-0901:03:41

Emir is afraid of hot dogs and late-night mesothelioma commercials. He talked about runaway cars and strange knocks on his third-story window, but the things that seemed to shake him the most....were hot dogs and tv commercials. On top of that we talked about ouija board experiences, ghostly silhouettes, bad nyquil trips, and more in the first of a continuing and intermittent series at Conspiracy Club, titled Ghost Stories. In the future we'd love to have guests come on and talk about their supernatural or otherwise mysterious experiences, but we kicked off the first part with our own! If you have some juicy stories to share, you can send them to our Facebook page, facebook.com/conspiracyclub, or our Instagram and Twitter, both @tomandemir. The Human Corpse Doll

The Human Corpse Doll

Yes, we are still having audio issues. Tis the plight of the broke college podcaster. You could be upset about it, like us, or you could choose to see it as a glitch in the matrix...perhaps a ghost in the machine, or even a real ghost. Boo! To the real point of this description, this episode is about the loneliest of lonelies, Dr. Carl Tanzler. Was he a necrophiliac? Maybe, but that's about the only part of the story that is contested. What we do know is that he was obsessed with a dying young girl, built her a mausoleum of which he had exclusive access once she passed, then dug up her body and made her into a human doll. There's also something in here about spaceships and the life-giving force that apparently looms just outside Earth's atmosphere. That's about normal for an episode of Conspiracy Club, and if you love it, then make sure to join the club by following us on Instagram and Twitter @tomandemir, as well as by liking our Facebook page at facebook.com/conspiracyclub! This episode is a trip, folks. It's got dolphins, drugs, and an inter-species love story for the ages.  Not to mention Jeff Bridges, Carl Sagan, and maybe the faint mention of aliens. Hey, it was the sixties. It feels weird titling this episode as such, because it doesn't really encompass what happened here and any true title would be way too long. Some of our considerations before sticking with our generic one were as follows: Lovatt in the Sea with Dolphins, Drugs and Dolphins in the Caribbean, Dr. John Lilly, or How I Learned to Take LSD and Teach Dolphins English, Free Willy 5: XXX,  Laboratory of the Horny Dolphins, and Teaching Dolphins English, and other experiments that definitely should not have happened.  See, they get a little long-winded. Needless to say this episode is about as wacky as it gets, and you thought that it couldn't get worse after the Emu War. In this (delayed) episode, Emir experiences a glitch in the system while teaching us about the great Australian emu war. When veteran farmers were faced with the hungry plight of emu tearing apart their crops, they turned to the Australian military to handle the problem for them. This lead to the war...if you can even call it that, a handful of men against 20,000 birds. You can join the club by following us on Instagram and Twitter @tomandemir. We apologize for the audio quality in this episode, we had some unforeseen struggles in editing due to us playing around with new recording processes. It will all get better from here...ideally. Skidmore, Missouri

Skidmore, Missouri

2019-06-0432:13

In this episode of Conspiracy Club, we dig into the tiny town of Skidmore. Hardly cresting 300 people, Skidmore has a remarkably violent past that cemented it in the annuls of weird world history in 1981 with the vigilante killing of Ken McElroy. McElroy's death would be followed by only more murders and even one of the most baffling missing persons cases you'll hear about. AKA the one where Tom and Emir test new remote recording techniques during summer break. Also described as the episode where Tom loses the ability to speak and the main culprit is Kuma from Tekken. More accurately the newest and delayed episode of Conspiracy Club delivers on promises in our last release, a follow-up on the original Dyatlov Pass Incident, a story more baffling than its California counterpart. Why did the young Soviet hikers cut themselves out of their tent in the dead of night and what caused their remarkably unique injuries? Could it have been the forces of nature or something that the Soviet Union tried desperately to cover up? In this episode, Tom and Emir discuss the strange tale of the American Dyatlov Pass Incident. Why did five grown men abandon their car on a mysterious mountain road and flee into the woods? Missing for months, what broke these men from their rigid and predictable schedules and forced them into the unknown...never to be seen again.  Remember to join the club by following us on Instagram and Twitter @tomandemir --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/conspiracyclub/support

Join the club this week, as Emir and Grant talk about famous actor Bob Crane's unexpected murder and the cold case that has followed up to this day. Bob Crane was known for his work in broadcast television, and then on "Hogan's Heroes" during the 1960's-1970's before reaching the end of his prime career. After doing dinner theatre for some time, Crane ran into some...trouble. Tune in to find out what exactly that trouble was. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/conspiracyclub/support
