A Place to Belong

A Place to Belong

2025-11-0238:00

What drives us to be generous instead of greedy? In this message, we explore how God’s heart for generosity transforms ours—from Zacchaeus’ story in Luke 19 to timeless wisdom in Proverbs 13. Discover six core truths about giving that bring joy, purpose, and eternal perspective: God gave first, He owns it all, and we’re made to live with open hands and hearts.
This week’s message looks at what it means to slow down, seek wise counsel, and create space for God to refill our souls. From the wisdom of Proverbs to the story of Mary and Martha in Luke 10, we’re reminded that while we’re often “worried and upset about many things,” only one thing truly matters.
The Church isn’t about lights or buildings—it’s about people. In this sermon, Pastor Russ reminds us that real faith begins with authenticity, reflection, and community. God meets us in our brokenness and calls us to grow through prayer and connection with others.
This Sunday, Pastor Caleb taught us to seek the presence of the Lord. It was a special Sunday as he lead us to hold christ as our "Telos" - our chief aim.
This week we heard from Pastor Russ on the topic of un-forgiveness. He prompted us to be a forgiving congregation, teaching from Ephesians 4:32
This week we heard from Pastor Russ on why we often feel a hole in our soul, even when life looks “successful.” Through Colossians 3 and Malachi 1, he reminded us that our true life is found in Christ—not in what we produce. We explored how image, pressure, and ambition can leave us empty, and how God invites us to Realize, Repair, and Refill our souls in Him.
This Sunday at Eastside Church, we welcomed Pastor Russ back to the pulpit after his sabbatical! He shared a powerful message about how our “backstage” life with God shapes our “front stage” life that others see. It was a reminder to care for our soul, live with integrity, and let our private walk with Jesus overflow into every area of life.
