Will comes to terms with Phil’s death by saying that he lives on through his donated organs. Deirdre gets her puppets back by giving her ex husband sole custody of their daughter. Episode 10 (the finale) takes us through a time warp as we watch Jeff & Jill’s love story unfold. Will sees the final number in the fibonacci sequence on the shirt of the marathon racer who had Phil’s donated heart. Can we really turn back time? Episode 7 dives into the different realities that all of the characters are living in. Seb has a minor stroke and reconnects with who he thinks is his ex-wife. Jeff works at a nursing home that specializes in nostalgia therapy where his real mom stays as a patient. He finally makes it to his acceptance speech with a newfound perspective. Episode 8 gives us flashbacks into the inception of Pickle Time. Deidre turns down an offer to study abroad after watching the Challenger explode while Jeff comes up with the show idea. Jill turns down Peter’s marriage proposal but tries to compromise with him. Will gets closer to the truth after a Pickle Pal scout leader botches his attempt to burn down Jeff’s house. In Episodes 5 and 6 of “Kidding” we explore the theme of divorce through the medium of puppets. Jeff and the gang teach us that nothing is permanent and everything changes. Ariana Grande makes an appearance as the Pickle Fairy of Hope to demonstrate that there’s always hope in any situation. Episode 6 dives into the repercussions of the Pickle Time episode, as the Filipino Mr. Pickles gets thrown off a building for saying divorce is good (which is illegal there). Jeff attends his ocean funeral where all the attendees revolt against him and blame him for Filipino Pickle’s death. Will continues to try to turn back time, but it doesn’t look hopeful when he finds out that his mom is going to marry Peter. Episode 3 was slower, but full of drama. Seb is no longer Jeff’s manager and showrunner, Deidre is officially beginning the divorce process and it doesn’t seem like it will be the easiest, and Jeff is trying to figure out how he’ll reconnect with his audience of “friends.” Jeff comes up with an idea to make a Mr. Pickles doll that listens….yikes. Jeff and Seb continue to battle over the rights for the business, even while Jill tries to serve Jeff divorce papers. Episode 4 Episode 4 questions who Jeff’s true friends are...and who he needs to let go of. Jeff tries to mend his relationship with Peter, and they bond over “sipping drugs” as they take marijuana in the form of tea to ease their pain from the surgery. Meanwhile, he has to make the tough decision to sign his divorce papers from Jill. Deidre and Scott endure a painful divorce mediation that leads to her losing almost all of her intellectual property. And finally, a long lost character becomes a close confidante for Jeff...the Croatian version of Mr. Pickles, Josip. Episodes 1 and 2 of “Kidding” highlighted how one bad decision can have long lasting consequences. After running over Jill’s boyfriend with his car, Jeff Pickles maintains a lie that frees himself from blame until he can no longer stay silent. He chooses to donate a portion of his liver because “it is the right thing to do,” and the following episode takes us on a journey of his subconscious thoughts that become musically expressed.
