Description

Welcome to The Men Collective Podcast, where you will learn how to improve your life and be a better man.  This podcast is not for people who want results maybe "someday". If you're committed to being a better man right now, then you've come to the right place. New episodes are posted every Friday.

As men, we have many roles in life,  but we may not always be fulfilling these roles.  Our aim is to help you show up in all of these aspects of life the best you can. The concept of the man has been degraded as modern convenience has allowed weakness to flourish in society. Masculinity in it's purest form, the kind all men possess and the kind that can save the world, is under attack. We have to take a stand and engage ourselves in the fight for masculinity and restore it to its rightful place.

You are a man. You have a sacred duty to better the world by bettering yourself. It starts with you. And if you've read this far, it starts now.

In daily life, strong men should work to lead those weaker men into strength, to show them the true way of Man, and to help raise them up. However, many of these lesser men work tirelessly to tear down those who may one day save them or their loved ones from death or injury. Listen to hear an expansion of these thoughts.
Men, it’s okay to have feelings. It’s okay to be affectionate, happy, or said. But to what end? Happiness is not enough. Self-acceptance is not enough. We selfishly put too much focus on being happy and loving ourselves, and not enough on why we are even here. We have a mission, and as men, we must carry it out. Masculinity has a purpose. Our duty as men is to be strong, honourable, courageous, daring leaders of mankind. To serve and better the world for those who come after, and for those who live here now. In this episode, I explore why men are the saviours or mankind, and why men specifically. What role do women play? How is this reconciled with my philosophy? What can you do to be part of history and better the world? Don't forget to subscribe and share with your friends!
It is every man’s duty to optimize themselves to their fullest extent-- physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually. The man who chooses to ignore this duty dooms himself to a life of perpetual weakness and mediocrity. Men are the saviours of mankind. It’s up to us to restore masculinity. We must lift one another up so we may reach our full strength and potential. In this episode, I introduce the topic of why and how men can save the world, and how this relates to our descendants. Next week, you will learn more specifically why I believe this. Don't forget to subscribe!

There are two types of dreams you will build in your lifetime: yours and someone else’s. When you punch the clock and exchange time for money, you are helping to build someone else’s dream. This may not be the case in every situation, but I’m confident that it is for most. What if it were possible to escape the current model of living and live the life you actually want? Listen to this episode to explore the possibilities available to you, and the first steps in making the switch.
There is a lot of media coverage about toxic masculinity right now, like the APA Guidelines being released, as well as the Gillette commercial asking if this is the best a man can get/be, taking on toxic masculinity. The question, though, is toxic masculinity even a real thing?
The American Psychological Association has released new guidelines for practice called the “APA GUIDELINES for the Psychological Practice with Boys and Men”. Naturally, it has people in an uproar. It’s a fresh and exciting piece of credible literature, but it’s been taken and used however seen fit. The media is loving it. What are the other problems this new publication can cause? Is there anything good that can come of this? Men are suffering, so much so that these guidelines had to be created. Why is this, apart from the ways laid out by the APA? Holidays are stressful for parents, and I think fathers tend to feel the pressure pretty intensely. I know I do, anyway. I feel that burning desire to blow this Christmas out of the water with the amount of presents I want to buy for my family. Even as I write this, I want to. It’s a farce. It’s a marketing scam that preys on our natural desire to provide and make our families happy. But think about it. Where does the money come from? You either work overtime to get more money, or you go into debt, to buy these gifts. If you go into debt, you have to work more to pay it off, or you let it sit and it slowly rots your spirit. Listen for some solutions to change your perspective on Christmas, and check out the article on our site that may change your perspective on yourself. www.themencollective.com

In the third instalment of "The Four Cornerstones" series, your host, Matt Gannon explains why Mastery is the third cornerstone. Mastery pertains to the development of your virtue and mental strength. Basically, the mind behind the man. Your habits, the daily things you do, are a huge part of the mastery cornerstone. The way you live your life is extremely important in deciding how good of a life you have. Sounds obvious, but yet we tend to live like crap and expect a luxurious, successful life. It’s not going to happen unless we master our habits and thought processes. Our thoughts have incredible power. Listen to learn more about this. Visit www.themencollective.com for show notes.
