We begin with the pilot, episode 1, The Mortal Cup. We're off to a full throttle start with a jam packed episode. We'd love to know your thoughts! Chat with us: Website - Tumblr - Twitter
Website - Tumblr - Twitter This episode discusses eps 2 & 3 of Shadowhunters - in which Clary becomes Action!Clary, Simon gets captured by vampires despite being genre aware, and Jace explains that vampires really know how to frame a narrative...
Website - Tumblr - Twitter Episode 3, in which we debate if Brooklyn is the only borough with a High Warlock, before we get into the friction between Maryse and pretty much everyone; discuss Clary, Simon, and Alec making an odd trio, and the weird vampire stuff still going on with Simon...
Website - Tumblr - Twitter In episode 4, we get excited about Izzy's transformation and Magnus's potion brewing; Alec pulls a disappearing act; Clary is a little frustrating; we wax lyrical about Alberto Rosende, and discuss the implications of our first big kiss...
Website - Tumblr - Twitter In Episode 5 Clary wavers on whether to vamp or not to vamp Simon. We meet Lydia, who it turns out we like in spite of her encouraging Alec to make dubious decisions for the both of them. We end the episode with the Downworld united, the Parabatai separated and us contemplating hitting the whiskey to drown our sorrows.
Awesome podcast! Love it 😀
Love the podcast. S1 to S2 transition is something that used to throw me off a lot. Wish it was more smoother. Magnus and Alec's scene in balcony is absolutely precious. Great analysis of Alec's situation and how isolated he felt during the episode.
Love the character analysis. I enjoyed it thoroughly. I didn't notice Magnus & Camille makeup similarities. Nice catch there and it's most definitely interesting. I also adore Harry’s headcanon about trying out different costume to see Alec's reaction. My mvp is also Alec. Matt plays it off so well because it's subtle and his face, especially eyes give so much depth to his character. I have to give kudos to Dom for making me like Jace. By the time I was watching S1, I had read book 1,2 and 3 and didn't like Jace at all. But once I finished S1, I loved Jace. I agree on Alberto being outstanding all around. Harry was phenomenal in the few scenes he was and the sheer fact that he made such an impact to us with few scenes is very telling. Same goes for Isaiah! I think despite everything cast made this show great. Amazing podcast as always. I had so much fun listening to this and to all the season 1 podcasts. It's a fun refresher before 3B.
Love the podcast. Great insights and break down of the episodes. Especially what went wrong. It's sad how messy the finale was and wished it ended S1 in a better high note, rather than making majority of the characters incompetent.
Great insights. <3 <3 It was a really a not good finale, story was everywhere, suddenly Alec and Magnus are incompetent? Why!?!? The few saving graces of the episode was Malec scenes after wedding and the last bit of Jace leaving with Valentine. And I approve the episode list 😄😄
Ha! Love this commentary! <3 <3 This is one of my fav episodes and it's funny how the moments we adore overshadow the flaws in the story. Great insights about the flaws and the best parts.
Love the discussions on the two episodes <3 <3 Dom was really good in these two episodes. I love how you broke down the parabatai scene and how Alec may be blamed himself for it. That didn't occur to me, so more food for thoughts. <3
This is probably one of my least fav episodes in SH. Mainly because of how messy the trial was. Also liked how you guys discuss about Jace-Clary-Micheal dynamic. Loved and enjoyed the commentary <3
😂😂 But AU!Alec was so fun!!! Ahhh I never realized the timeline issue in AU world. Thanks Ruth! Now I’m thinking about it. Also AU!Magnus kinda burn the poor kitty’s tail 😅 I do agree it would have been fun if there were more doppelganger hijinks. Love the commentary <3 <3
😂 😂 Matt is such a giraffe, he folds and folds and folds... I love how you girls compared the interaction between Alec and Clary to Jace and Clary. I read the books before, so I know the hawk story and I agree it doesn't really work in the situation they were in. It should have been in some different scene. I like Alec & Lydia's dynamic. I wish we get to see them developed into a friendship. I love your discussion about how Alec reach out to confide with Magnus. The graveyard scene is beautiful. Of 1x9, I love how your discussion of the parabati scene. <3 It gave a lot of additional insights for me to think about. Great podcast and discussion <3 <3
Great podcast! Ahhh 1x09. My heart just breaks for the parabatai in this episode. Yes! Whole Meliorn's conviction was messy. Love your guys discussion about it.
Great insights. I had a great time listening to the commentary <3 Spot on the fact that Alec's storyline and emotional reactions were muddle and all over the place. Alberto is most definitely the mvp of the episode. The graveyard scene just perfect.
Love the commentary <3 I LOVE Magnus's quote about Beyoncé. 😂😂😂
Demon Pox 😂😂 It's such a Herondale thing. You can know about it Infernal Devices, if it's intrest you. Love Simon's family. Alec trying to flirt is one of my fav scenes. Yes Alberto was amazing in the two episodes.
Love the insights. Alec/Matt was definitely the highlight of the two episodes.
@F_F_Podcast 1x2, 1x3 discussion. Great insights! Luke suddenly snacking human kinda threw me off.. I mean I get werewolves rip the throat out, but it felt more than that in the scene. And yes! I love Alec keeping count of number of rules they are breaking. Gosh I think those two episodes were the worse in the season. Clary is all over the place but Alec saves the day being sassy!
Love the insights about story and cast<3 . It isn't one of my fav episode but the chemistry between the cast is amazing. They do sell the whole Clary and Simon are BFF, Alec and Izzy are siblings. I'm loving it.
Love the podcast. Yeah I wasn't a big fan of the flashback. I feel like it doesn't really show how Circle work. Also agree on Jace. It's one of my least fav episode in S1. Malec saved the episode for me. Looking forward for next podcast <3
Love the podcast. Yes on all those naked werewolves! 😂😂 That was one of my biggest concern on how S1 and S2 were so out of sync with handling werewolves transformation.
Love this podcast since it's one of my fav episodes <3 I also noticed the difference in Harry's voice in this episode especially in scenes of Magnus being the extravaganza high warlock. It goes well with how you guys explain that they didn't give Magnus/Harry much depth to work with in the beginning. Great insights. Enjoyed it a lo!
