On this episode of StreetSmart Wisdom Podcast, guest Susan Piver discusses the Enneagram and its nine different ways of being. She explains how understanding someone's type can lead to compassion and meeting them where their attention is. The conversation also explores the Enneagram's subtypes and how they impact how individuals perceive situations. The podcast emphasizes the Enneagram as a tool for communication and compassion, rather than labeling individuals. The second half of the episode will focus on the Wisdom Feed's topic of the month and the guest's new book about the Buddhist Enneagram.   Susan Piver is a Buddhist practitioner who has been studying the enneagram for almost 30 years. She believes that the enneagram, which describes nine ways of being in the world, can be used as a school of spiritual wisdom to deepen compassion towards ourselves and others. Susan emphasizes the concept of upaya, skillful means, in Buddhism and believes that the enneagram is one of the most potent upayas to practice compassion. In her view, the enneagram goes beyond being just a personality typing system and can be used to understand and get along with others in profound and direct ways.   TIMESTAMP [00:01:51] Enneagram meets Buddhism for greater compassion. Dr. Joel Fuhrman's approach to nutrition emphasizes the importance of a healthy lifestyle and a diet focused on excellent nutrition as key factors for both health and wellbeing. He recommends a nutritarian diet which is rich in both micronutrients and macronutrients and warns against sugary and processed foods as these can strip the body of essential nutrients and lead to serious diseases. Additionally, he encourages the consumption of G BOMBS – greens, beans, onions, mushrooms, berries, and seeds – as a powerful way to extend human lifespan and combat cancer as it can reduce the risk of breast cancer by 71%. To achieve success, he stresses the importance of having passion, focus, and support while being educated and informed regarding food addiction. Dr. Fuhrman's message is to take control of one's health and strive for a nutritarian diet which will bring a sense of pleasure and happiness without the guilt associated with overeating unhealthy snacks.   Connect with us: Facebook: https://bit.ly/FBpageWF Instagram: https://bit.ly/RealWisdomFeed WisdomFeed Website: https://bit.ly/WisdomFeedHome BetterListenWebsite: https://bit.ly/BetterListenWebsite Free Resources: https://bit.ly/FreeResourcesFromWisdomFeed   Click here to get your free wellness resources from WisdomFeed  Surfing The Tsunami Of Change - BetterListen WisdomFeed

In this tribute to Thich Nhat Hanh. Jon Kabat-Zinn reads from Thay's book The Miracle Of Mindfulness and captures the essence of this great human being. "So just to say, Thich Nhat Hanh, the great Vietnamese Zen master poet peace activist, passed away not long ago at his monastery in Hue in Vietnam. Thay was a major source of horror and suffering, which I remember directly myself in the sixties during the Vietnam War. And so it left me feeling just the poignancy of, of Umthan no longer being here, having given so much to the planet over so many years. And you know, in, in his last year, Martin Luther King, who's who came in touch with Han when he was a young activist, you know, anti-war activist, actually nominated Ty as he was called for the Nobel Peace Prize in 1967. And there was no Nobel Peace, peace Prize awarded in 1967, but he would've been a wonderful person to do it because you had the Vietnam War raging."
