Beer Me A Movie

It's here! The last episode of Beer Me a Movie before our big move! And there's no better way to end the show than to kick this sucker into plaid and talk about Mel Brooks' famous Star Wars parody: Spaceballs. This is the part of the post where we usually tease something goofy we did/said in the episode. But instead we want to say thank you for joining us on this crazy journey. It's been a lot of fun and we appreciate all (except one) of you. Stay tuned for more information on when you can catch us in our new digs over at Experience Grind. You guys have been/continue to be the very best. *Spaceballs © 1987 METRO-GOLDWYN-MAYER STUDIOS INC.

It's here! The PENULTIMATE episode of Beer Me a Movie. We're on a Mel Brooks streak, and Bryan STILL felt the need to atone for Earth Girls are Easy, so he's beered us a PROPER MUSICAL: The Producers! There's a lot to talk about for a movie that went under a lot of people's radar. Tune in for a great discussion on musicals and film, some personal stories, and maybe the most horrible jokes we've ever made (and they're not even about Nazi Will Ferrell!). *The Producers © 2005 Brooksworks LLC

Here we are. The final listener pick of Beer Me A Movie. The spirit of Roger Ebert has guided his ghostly hand across the ouija board for the last time. But don't be sad! He blessed us with a heck of pick. We're talking about Robin Hood: Men in Tights! You can't go wrong with a Mel Brooks movie. In fact, this listener pick is SO good it has inspired the remaining picks of the show. Tune in to find out if the movie is good or bad or both, and the weird parallel we drew to another pod-favorite director. *Robin Hood: Men in Tights © 1993 Brooksfilms International Limited

Dave had one final nostalgia pick he'd been holding onto, and this one is extra special. If you grew up in the 90s, you probably love this movie or you've never heard of it. The podcast has been cancelled due to lack of hustle; it's Heavyweights! This one has everything: a crazed Ben Stiller, a surprising amount of body positivity for the 90s, Paul Feig doing the least Paul Feig-y things ever on film, a kid-movie plot that you really shouldn't think too hard about, and even a rare Dave industry story!*Heavyweights © 1995 Walt Disney Pictures

This week we're celebrating Bryan's birthday! And we're still in the middle of Nostalgia Month 2, so Bryan had to conform his birthday pick to fit that. Oh ye of little faith, fear not. He answered that call with a heaping pile of blasphemy by beering us all Dogma.Once upon a time, you could turn on Comedy Central on any given Saturday and this glorious movie would be playing. Now, it's much harder to get your hands on. But since we love all of you and REALLY hate Harvey Weinstein, you mayyy or may not find a link to watch this star-studded film over on our website. *Dogma © 1999 STK, LLC
