Joan's approach includes her unique blend of mindfulness based cognitive therapy and concepts of yoga psychology. She is one of a handful of therapists in our area trained in somatic experiencing, a body-centered form of healing. As a communication specialist, Joan is currently exploring the aspects of effective communication, the art of compassionate listening and the positive impact it can have on relationships.

Soco, a good friend from Mexico, has been working with the Mexican community for about 10 years now in New York City. Soco sits down with hosts Wendolyn and Greg to discuss her leadership program, stigma amongst Mexican indigenous people, and the "taboo" towards mental health in the Mexican community as a whole.
Jesse has an open, honest and significantly positive conversation with hosts Wendolyn and Greg. Jesse, who has been in recovery for quite some time now, discusses his diagnosis of paranoid schizophrenia, and dealing with social anxiety. Jesse also talks about how he feels about his psychiatrist, medication and his desire to go back to therapy.
In Episode 10, Wendolyn and Greg discuss motivation and change, how to rebuild your life after illness, and the importance of routine and structure in recovery. Wendolyn shares some traumatic events in her life leading to a diagnosis of PTSD.
In Episode 9, Tabi exudes inspiring knowledge, strength and positivity. Tabi, who lives with muscular dystrophy, speaks about her physical disability and mental health challenges. Through stories and insightful language, Tabi also tells us about her songwriting (she allowed us to share one of her songs at the end of the show), being a disability advocate and being a master coder.

Kim, who lives with schizoaffective (with bipolar disorder) and borderline personality disorder, is a very smart and well-spoken individual. Speaking about a personal relationship with a psychoanalyst of hers, suicide, and the recent loss of her brother, just to name a few, Kim exudes absolute, inspiring strength discussing unforgettable moments of her life.
