Welcome back, Honest Tribe! Today we're tackling how to stay motivated. Let's keep it real, we're human so we all go through waves of feeling so unmotivated. It's not the act of becoming unmotivated that is hard, what's hard is getting yourself BACK on track. Lucky for you all, Harr & I are here to share our tips and tricks on how to tackle this!
Happy Wednesday y'all! We're back with our FIFTIETH episode (Woah) AND Oct. 21st was our one year mark of The Honest Truth Podcast. So thankful to be on this platform for a year, and like we always say... all it takes is one. One person to reach out to us sharing how our words have positively impacted them, so to you all we say a big thank you! On today's episode of The Honest Truth, we're discussing how important it is as women to stand up for ourselves. How standing up for yourself doesn't make you a bitch or confrontational but rather someone who has the desire to take control of your life, your time and filling up your damn cup. If there is one thing you take away from this episode, please let it be that by not knowing how to or when to stand up for yourself, you are only hurting yourself... read that again.
Welcome back y'all! Did ya miss us? Cause we sure missed you. Can y'all believe we're at that "90-day" mark? 2020 is right around the corner AND we're closing the chapter on a decade-- wild, right? In today's episode of The Honest Truth we're reflecting on 2019, where we currently are, and our jumpstart goals for 2020. Don't wait until 2020 to speak these goals into existence, start now! Put that shit out into the universe, write it down.
Remember: the beginning of the equation starts with you. You are in control of your destiny.
Honest Tribe, welcome back! In episode 48 we're digging into all things "ego". From a very young age, we’re conditioned to see the effects of being right vs. wrong. I.e our educational system-- it's very black and white. As we know, life really isn't like that majority of the time. When it comes to your ego and the need to always be right, ask yourself this one question: would you rather be right or would you rather be happy?
Remember, your ego is a direct reflection on how you feel about yourself.
Happy Wednesday Y'all! Episode 47 is all about utilizing your free time. In the world we live in today there is so much information and importance surrounding how you show up for yourself in the professional world, how to have professional success, and how to be productive in your working environment…the list goes on. What often is missing from this equation is that it is just as important to focus on how you utilize your free time. What you do when you’re away from your office will directly impact how you show up for yourself in the professional world. Everyone is going to have their “thing” & in today's episode of The Honest Truth, Harr & I will be sharing the things we feel are most impactful when it comes to utilizing OUR free time.
Happy Wednesday y'all! We are back with episode 46 & if you listened last week where we focused on how to receive criticism, then you'll know that this week we're digging into HOW to give criticism. First and foremost, if you can't give criticism without adding value, then you probably have no business doing so in the first place. Harr & discuss 4 major points in this episode in terms of how to give criticism: focus on the specific situation at hand, not the person, be solution-oriented, build the bridge, don’t burn it, & lastly focus on the timing and environment.
Welcome back Honest Tribe! On today's episode of The Honest Truth, we're digging into all things criticism. When receiving criticism it's important to ask yourself if it's hurtful or helpful, to respond calmly, and to never let it derail you from your goals. Remember, know your strengths and that for you to grow and evolve as a human, you must be willing to take in criticism. What you decide to do with that criticism is up to you.
Welcome back, Honest Tribe! This week we're keeping it light and fun. I'm back on the mic with one of my favorite humans, Ms. Emily Cooper! Sis is coming at me with some random questions, some serious, some funny. Like how ya girl can love cheese but be lactose intolerant, HA.
Happy Wednesday, Honest Tribe! Today's all about the importance of leaning into your difficult situation and giving yourself the space to grieve, learn & grow. We live in a society where we are always looking for the quick fix. Something that might make us feel good temporarily, but it's not going to benefit you long term. Always remember that the bigger the situation/traumatic experience, the more space and time you have to allow yourself to go through it.
Grow through what you go through.
Happy Wednesday Honest Tribe! In a society surrounded by individuals that are always utterly busy, running off of 3 hours of sleep & juggling a million different tasks... STOP WHAT YOU'RE DOING, this episode is for you! In today's episode of The Honest Truth, we're digging into 3 major things: The millennial mindset of being busy, being intentional with your time & the importance of aligning.
Remember: work smarter, not harder.
Happy Wednesday Honest Tribe! We are back with episode 41 and we're digging into the importance of forgiving, releasing & repeating (hence the title y'all). There are a couple of important things about being able to forgive someone. Two of the most important things is that it's for your own growth and happiness. It's so toxic to hold onto that anger, resentment, the hurt... all the bad shit! It's not serving you, I promise it's not worth it. If we really think about it, it harms us far more than it harms the offender. Remember, forgiveness frees us to live in the present.
Wednesday, we're back! I'm so excited to have my partner and bestie back with me on the mic. Today we're digging into all things single. Like myself, I know there is a lot of y'all that can relate to this topic so I hope that something we say, you can take and apply it to your own life & single season. On today's episode on The Honest Truth, we're talking about three major topics when it comes to being single: being single is not a poor reflection on you and who you are as an individual, the importance of using your single time to be in a relationship with yourself, & finally how to set realistic expectations.
Why do bad things happen to good people? A very loaded question right? For me, I really felt this question when I went through my own personal journey with this. When you’re walking through a very difficult, emotional, mentally draining season in your life, you feel this question a lot differently. It resonates with you on a whole different level. In today's episode of The Honest Truth, I'm digging into embracing where you’re at, while working towards where you want to be. We all go through different seasons in our lives, some really amazing & some really terrible. I have fully taken on the “ I have lost my mother at age 21 and I am still here” role. For me that has been the biggest mountain that I have ever been faced with, but it’s also my proudest because I am here, happy and healthy. I want you all to remember, we’re only a victim of our “mountains” and difficult situations if we choose to be.
Make the right choice, show up for yourself.
Welcome back to The Honest Podcast! We are back with episode 38, and we're talking about one of my favorite topics-- MINDSET. This is something that at the age of 26, I feel like I finally have a solid handle on. Y'all... your mindset is everything. From the time you wake up from the time you close your eyes, what're you telling yourself? What are your thoughts? In today's episode, I'm digging into two major types of mindsets: a fixed mindset & a growth mindset. I don’t think we realize that in order to speak good, in order to be positive, in order to be able to not only lead with our actions but also our voice… we have to be able to control the voice inside our head. In order to embrace change, grow and evolve as a human, we must control our mind. "You spend most of your life inside your head, make it a nice place to be".
Welcome back Honest Tribe! We are back with episode 37, and this is definitely one of our favorite episodes because we are sharing it with OUR tribe, aka Book Club. Get ready for a lot of obnoxious laughs, a splash of inappropriate language (per usual), and just some down to earth girl time. Harr & I are so thankful for the group of women that we have in our lives, and like we stressed the last episode... we think it's so vital to have. In part two of the importance of finding your lady tribe, we introduce you to some of our favorite women and ask them questions ranging from important things that we think create a strong foundation when it comes to friendship, to how to handle creeps at the bar. We are getting into ALL the things.
Behind every strong woman is a bunch of other strong women.
Who run the world? GIRLS. Wednesday, we are back! We're so excited for this two-part episode, centered all around finding your lady tribe. Harr and I are very fortunate to be surrounded by some of the most amazing, strong women. Through life, all the highs and lows-- our tribe (shoutout to Book Club) have been the constant. The women that have not only helped us stay rooted, grow and evolve through all walks of life, but also the women that keep it real with us, and hold us accountable. If you have this, you are blessed. Hold on to those people. If you're lacking these type of female relationships, I'm putting it into the universe now that this comes your way! Having a circle of women that you can rock with through everything is so essential. I can't stress that enough. Remember, quality over quantity, and to have a good friend... you have to BE a good friend.
Welcome back Honest Tribe! Can you believe we are 6 MONTHS into 2019?! I know, we can't either. Since we're halfway through the year, Harr & I felt like this would be the perfect time to check-in and evaluate where we're at with our 2019 goals. In turn, hopefully, this will encourage y'all to do the same! Forgot to set your 2019 goals? firstly, COME ON SIS. Secondly, it's never (ever) too late to start now. Get out a piece of paper and write that shit down! If you're having trouble identifying your goals or struggling on how to set them, I would encourage you to go back to episodes 9 & 10 where we really dig into how to do this. If you aren't where you're at with your goals, take a step back and be realistic with yourself. Do you need to throw away the goal, or is it that you just need to change your route and your approach in getting there?
Happy Wednesday Honest Tribe! If you're in need of some extra motivation when it comes to living a healthy lifestyle, WE GOT YOU. Harr & I are so passionate about this, so I'm so excited for you guys to tune in. I can't stress to y'all enough how important it is to take care of your body, especially as we get older. Take your vitamins, drink your water, take your ass to the gym and get some damn sleep! As women, we already have so many health risks that we are faced with, especially as we get older. Do your part and take care of your body. Health is truly wealth.
Honest Tribe, we are back with the final episode of our anxiety series! Today we're digging into specific phobias, what they are, our experiences with them, and some things to help you manage them. We wanted to keep this episode light and fun but also hit you guys with our concluding thoughts on this series in general. When it comes to anxiety, Harr and I both have experienced it in waves, and honestly, it's something we will always carry with us, and that's ok. For us, one of the most important things we want you to take away from this series is to recognize your anxiety, and in that, seek and take the appropriates steps and guidance to not necessarily "get over" your anxiety, but to manage it and coop with it in a healthy manner.
Happy Wednesday!
