Continuing from documenting the Great War as it happened 100 years ago, the project continues with in depth history looking at various aspects of war. We all know the story of Adolf Hitler's later career, but how many of us know about his First World War experiences? In this podcast we chart his service in the Great War from outbreak to defeat, looking at how he found a home in the army and how it shaped his future attitudes and actions.

The small actions that took place around South Georgia, in the South Atlantic, were very much a sideshow when compared to the main conflict around the Falkland Islands. But, seeing as there’s nothing I like more than a sideshow, I thought a look at the Argentinian actions to take the islands and the British to take it back again was worth a closer look.
