Next episode we will delve into the lesser known or less obvious childhood traumas to help you connect the dots if you are struggling with symptoms of trauma. Most of us have some of these, and even if your ACE score is high there is A LOT we can do to reverse it (me and many of my clients are walking proof). In today's #coffeewithatherapist, I explain specific examples of toxic family beliefs and rules. This will help you understand some of the beliefs that you may have yet to heal or subtle ways our family's intergenerational trauma leaked into our family system. Most families have at least one or two of these (and that's okay!) what's best is if we are able to get curious about them and heal it for the next generation. Feel free to add some additional ones to the comments to help expand this definition for others. :)--Join me LIVE on coffee with a therapist on Facebook live Mon-Fri at 9:15 am CT or listen to it via the "Yellow Brick Therapy Podcast" (available on most podcasting platforms).Enjoy having coffee with me?
