The last race at the last stop of the entire FIM WSX World Supercross Championship provided some excellent racing last weekend, as Joey Savatgy and Jason Anderson traded numerous passes for the lead and ultimately, the 2025 WSX World Championship, with El Hombre prevailing and earning his first World Championship title. Shane McElrath, meanwhile, dominated the final stop with a complete sweep of the racing, but ot wasn't enough to keep Max Anstie from stripping him of his number-one plate. We recap all that action, plus the Supermotocross media days last week, and a lot more, in this week's Kickstart Podcast by Maxxis and Outhouse Coffee Co.

Jerry Robin has long been a fixture on the pro motocross and Supercross circuit, as one of the sport's most prominent privateer racers. His life took a drastic turn on April 19th, though, when he crashed during practice at the East Rutherford Supercross and suffered paralyzing injuries. Through it all, Robin has approached his recovery, therapy, and new life path with the same intensity that brought him success on the racetrack, and only eight months post-injury, he seems to have his new life pretty well figured out. Last week, Robin started a job with his sponsor, FXR Racing, the Canadian MX apparel brand that has made huge strides in American motocross. We caught up with Jerry this afternoon for a super enjoyable conversation.
Kristen Beat joins us on this week's Kickstart Podcast by Maxxis and Outhouse Coffee Co., fresh off the plane home from the Gold Coast of Australia, where she worked as a member of the broadcast team at the third round of the FIM WSX World Supercross Championship. We go over everything that went down at last weekend's Supercross, and also some fun and stories from the holiday weekend at the Day in the Dirt Grand Prix!

Kenny Alexander is a lifelong motocross racer who's made a great career for himself in the Hollywood stunt industry. Still, to us, he's the man who founded Fasthouse and also created the Day in the Dirt Motocross Grand Prix. With the Thanksgiving holiday only a few days away, that means that our favorite race of the year is literally upon us, so we got Alexander on the phone to talk about all things Fasthouse, Day in the Dirt, and moto!

We just wrapped up our 2026 450 MX Shootout last week, and SML Senior Test Rider Pat Foster joins us on this week's show to talk about bikes, testing, and more. Nine bikes a day, two days in a row, is no joke, and we all learned a lot over the time we spent on all of the machines. We also preview the upcoming WSX Supercross in Australia, and more. Enjoy!

It was a successful weekend for the KTM Group, as Eli Tomac made a winning debut aboard his new Red Bull KTM in Canada, and Malcolm Stewart used his Rockstar Husqvarna to earn the King of Paris Crown in France! We were on hand in Vancouver for the second round of the FIM WSX World Championship Supercross Series, and getting to see Tomac compete on his KTM 450 SX-F for the first time was really something. We talk about that and more, on this week's Kickstart Podcast presented by Maxxis and Outhouse Coffee Co.

The 2025/26 FIM World Supercross Championship kicked off last weekend in Buenos Aires City, Argentina, and while we tuned in on the Recast broadcast, our friend Kristen Beat was there working as part of the broadcast team and got to see the action, first-hand. That said, we had Kristen join us on the show this morning to give us her insight and input about all things WSX, then we shifted our attention to last week's Red Bull KTM team launch, and more! Enjoy!
Presented by 6D HelmetsWhether Dave Castillo's name rings a bell for you or not, we're willing to bet that you have unknowingly enjoyed his work in one way or another. A professional racer in the 90s, Castillo is the son of Jim Castillo, founder of Innovation Sports, the brand that practically invented knee bracing. After curtailing his full-time racing efforts, Dave teamed up with his dad to create Asterisk, the most successful off-the-shelf knee brace company in our sport. Concurrently, Dave began a career in Hollywood as a stuntman. Early on, Castillo specialized in two-wheeled stunts, but eventually grew into other aspects of the industry, including stunt coordinating. Currently, Dave is still busy in Hollywood and remains connected with his motocross roots by racing the annual Day in the Dirt Motocross Grand Prix that started out as a Hollywood stunt event, but also with his family company Intake Breathing, which produces the breathing kit that utilizes two small stick-on steel discs and a magnetic nose clip that expands your nasal passages.

While October 1 was the date we expected all of the news about 2026 to be released, much of the formal "goodbye," and "thanks for the memories" press releases have trickled in over the past couple of weeks. Does that mean that the remaining "news" will drop on Saturday, November 1? Or will they be released on Monday the third? No matter...while we await the official news about Sexton and Kawasaki, Tomac and Prado at KTM, Deegan in Fox, Barcia and Ferrandis with Ducati, and more...we had a good time speculating about all those pairings, and more!

Some interesting stuff to talk about on this week's Kickstart Podcast! Last week, formal "goodbyes" were issued by several teams, thanking racers for their time and wishing them success in the future. While it's well known where all of the big players are headed, we discuss the open Kawasaki 450 seat, as well as Jorge Prado's challenging public image in 2026. Chase saw him in action on his orange machine last week, and we talked about that, as well as a telling conversation we had with Cameron McAdoo recently.

What a glorious time of year it is! With the 2025 Motocross of Nations in the history books, last weekend marked the first genuine off-season weekend for the motocross industry. Except for teams and racers contesting the Arenacross or WSX World Championship Series, most who were involved in the 31 racers that made up the Supercross, Motocross, and SMX Playoff series should have really soaked up last weekend. Ours started off with the Celebration of Life for our friend and partner Doni Wilson, who we lost on August 11 to a battle with ALS. It was an amazing event and it was a nice way to close the chapter on our time of mourning the loss of DW. There's that, and a whole lot more in this week's podcast!
The 2025 Motocross of Nations is now in the record books, and the events that went down at Ironman Raceway last weekend were simply amazing for a hardcore motocross fan. The best racers from around the world converged on Crawfordsville, Indiana, for the most prestigious race of the year, and patriotism was at an all-time high! Swapmoto Live was there to witness Team Australia earning its second-consecutive MXoN Championship, while the last-minute United States team of Eli Tomac, RJ Hampshire, and Justin Cooper upheld American pride with a solid second-place showing. In this week's Kickstart Podcast by Maxxis Tires and Outhouse Coffee Co., we recap all of the wild stuff we saw!

For most, it was the first weekend of the "off-season," but with the Motocross of Nations next weekend, plus the upcoming WSX World Championship and more approaching, there really isn't much time these days for rest. Last weekend we headed to Glen Helen to check out Ken Roczen racing the Champ Off-Road National Championships in a Pro 2 truck, spent Saturday night at Lake Elsinore Diamond Stadium for the Freestyle Kings, then returned to the tracks on Sunday for some riding and racing. Now, we head to Crawfordsville, Indiana, for the Motocross of Nations!
Ricky Johnson and Jeff Ward have been busier than ever lately, but the two legends of motocross were finally both in California long enough to return to the Swapmoto Live studios to get together for a couple of episodes of Podium to Present! This week, the guys invited legendary motocross designer Kenny Safford to join them to talk about his early days, starting with AXO Sport, where he and Jim Hale changed the way motocross brands looked and advertised. Enjoy part one...then stay tuned for part two in the coming weeks!
After 31 races, the 2025 Monster Energy Supermotocross World Championship has finally come to a close. In the 450 class, Jett Lawrence handily wrapped up his third consecutive title and remains the only racer to carry the number-one plate since the series' inception. In the 250 class, Jo Shimoda endured a barrage of attacks to earn the 250 SMX Championship and became the first Japanese racer to earn an American championship. Somehow, we survived the weekend to talk about it all!

A couple of weeks ago, we were able to get in touch with John Gregory of the legendary JT Racing motocross apparel company from the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s, but we were cut short when his neighbor dropped in for a surprise visit. In this episode, we were able to track John down again and complete his memoirs about the glory years of JT Racing, the transition into JT Paintball, and ultimately selling the brand to retire.
The St. Louis round of the Monster Energy Supermotocross World Championship Playoffs yielded two boring motos and two motos that had us on the edge of our seats! Having two new winners in both the 250 and 450 classes was also a breath of fresh air, and it gave us plenty to talk about in this week's Kickstart Podcast by Maxxis Tires and Outhouse Coffee Co.!

Last weekend, the Monster Energy Supermotocross World Championship Playoffs got underway in Concord, North Carolina, at xMAX Dragway, and severe weather forced the cancellation of the event after the first 250 and 450 motos were run. Four lightning strikes in the area initially halted the event, but the ongoing threat of lightning, plus steady rain and impending nightfall, finally did the race in. For the most part, racers were relieved, but the fans on hand were upset, demanding refunds and the like. There is no debating the fact that the race could not have run with the lack of lighting in the motocross section of the course outside of the stadium, and the course was challenging enough without throwing in mud and poor visibility into the mix. Eli Tomac told us after Friday's practice sessions that it was "The sketchiest track I have ever ridden on." Throughout the weekend, the track claimed many victims, including top riders like Malcolm Stewart, Seth Hammaker, Julien Beaumer, and Garrett Marchbanks. Jett Lawrence said after the race that the track had a limit that could not be pushed, and that you had "to take your medicine out there," in the rough conditions. We talk about that, and a lot more, in this week's Kickstart Podcast, presented by Maxxis and Outhouse Coffee Co.!

Last weekend at the Big Bear MX Grand Prix, I spotted a guy walking through the pits in a matching T-shirt and short pants, adorned with the JT Racing Bad Bones graphics that were made famous by Ron Lechien in the late 80s. Of course, the outfit was a modern offering from the licensing holders, but it got my mind reeling with memories of the glory days of JT Racing. That said, I shot a text and a photo I snapped of the guy to John Gregory, the man who founded JT Racing in 1968. Before I knew it, I had John on the phone for this podcast, which will eventually be part one with the man. Gregory lives on an isolated ranch in Idaho these days, and an unexpected visit from his neighbor ended up cutting our time short. Still, it was an entertaining chat and should be a great listen for anyone eld enough to remember the iconic brand. Enjoy!

Wow that Brennan guy has an annoying nasally voice and sounds like I don't know weasely.
so A Ray had trouble with Arby's but he always had Wendy's covered.
