This episode is dedicated to the late Maureen McTeggart Hall. Maureen founded the McTeggart School in 1939 in Cork City, Ireland, with her three sisters. Peggy, Nancy, Maureen and Betty received instruction in the art of traditional Irish dance from Cormac O’Keefe, of the the great dancing masters of Ireland. Maureen McTeggart Hall brought the school to the USA in 1959 when she emigrated to California with her husband and seven children. In 1976, Maureen was asked to travel to Colorado and provide instruction to the children of Denver’s Irish-American community. Since that time the school has grown to include locations in Denver, Englewood, Boulder and Fort Collins, as well as New Mexico, Texas, Arizona, Oklahoma, Kentucky and Alaska. https://www.legacy.com/us/obituaries/fresnobee/name/maureen-hall-obituary?id=15611498 This episode will have $1 donated per listener in the first week on air to The Trevor Project in Jason’s name. Thank you to The Trevor Project in supporting the lives of our LGBTQ+ community. https://www.thetrevorproject.org/ Jason speaks about his journey to not one, but two World Championship titles, becoming a TCRG, and how he left the Irish dance world professionally. He enjoys supporting Irish dancing as a fan and former dancer and we discuss how he found peace with stepping back from teaching. Contact: jason_hays AT icloud DOT com
Listener Question: What do I do if I outgrow my school? Live show at NAIDC?? Sound off! In today's main event, we discuss how to plan for profit in our financial health series. This episode would have lended itself better to a format with video and screen sharing but hopefully all the math doesn't get too confusing. -------------- Courtney Jay TCRG here, host of TCRG to CEO Radio, the podcast for Irish dance teachers, studio owners, and aspiring teachers/studio owners who want to learn teaching and business skills to succeed in their careers, impact more students, and raise the glass ceiling of their success!
